This past March break would have been our third visit to this resort. Because of Covid 19, we had to cancel our trip. My grandchildren, children and I were so disappointed. We love this resort and hope to return as soon as possible. We always stay in ocean view rooms. Cuba is a perfect place for a family vacation. The staff at Paradisus are lovely people. Some even remembered us from last year. The beach is pristine and safe for swimming. The grandchildren loved the kids club. We had to drag them away everyday. Ignore comments about the food in Cuba. The people, the culture, the weather, the beach and the safety is why you go. And there is plenty to eat in the dinning room. Bring Canadian cash and convert it to pesos at the hotel for tips. Leave your loonies and toonies at home. And no, the Cubans aren’t after the American dollar. Leave those home as well. I can’t wait to go back to Paradisus. I hope we don’t have to wait too long. We have travelled to Cuba 6 times now and this is our first time at this resort. I will never stay anywhere else in Cuba again. I can’t say enough good things about this resort. From the moment we got there Lily took care of us and didn’t stop until we left. She even made sure she knew what time we were leaving so she could come say bye. I even forgot my e-reader in the room and didn’t realize until we got the airport and she sent it in a cab to the airport for me!!! She is an angel with a great sense of humour. We were a family of 8 with 3 rooms and I cannot stress enough how amazing the rooms are. The rooms were all modern and clean. Our main room had a dining room, kitchen and bedroom with a beautiful king size bed, an amazing soaker tub with outdoor shower, an enormous private patio to a swim out pool. I have never gone to Cuba and actually spent so much time in a room but that’s how beautiful they were. We had everything we needed right there and the private patio with cabana was a god send. The staff were so friendly and kind, and we were so happy and grateful to have Lily taking care of us. She is what made our stay so wonderful and she came to see us everyday to make sure we had everything we needed. We always go back to Cuba for their beautiful white soft sands and crystal clear water and this beach was no different. ❤️ The food was decent, again it’s Cuba, I don’t know anyone who travels to Cuba for the food. The only down side were the mosquitos at night but it’s not a resort thing it’s a Cuba thing. Myself and my oldest son got over 50 bites. I wish they could spray the resort or something. Overall our stay was amazing and we will definitely be back. I think next time we’ll take a trip just the two of us and enjoy some down time as it’s not really a vacation when you have 5 kids. If you’re on the fence between this resort and another one, definitely go here and contact Lily!! She will make sure your stay is amazing!! Read less

Before we booked the hotel, I have contacted Paradisus to ask when renovations are going to finish and they told us the day which was something like 20 days before the day we planned to come. To make the story shorter, the renovation was not finished even when we left. Upon arrival, we were upgraded to royal service which at least improved our experience a bit, otherwise, it would be a complete disaster. Pros: Great, great thanks to Jorge, a bartender in the pool bar in Royal service. He indeed made our days better. One, if the not only person who knew how to do his job professionally. Overall hotel was clean, the room was regularly cleaned and towels exchanged on a daily base. Cons: the same food every lunch and dinner. I don't understand why is it so hard to learn at least to fry fish properly so it is not raw or overdone. Pizzas were okay. A la carte restaurants are a joke. Mostly they don't have what you ask for, our you get a dish which is not at all what it has been described. So then it was better eating in the buffet at least you take what you want. Christmas dinner I would rather forget, food was too salty therefore inedible. So sad... Twice we didn't get our food ordered through room service. Heard many complaints from the guest, worst being no warm water for showering, in Royal we had. Even though I lowered my expectations from Cuba, it was not enough because let be honest for the money you spend there you can get way more at many other places. Read less

We travelled to Paradisus Varadero as three families in March 2020. Our transfer from the airport was quick and very pleasant. We arrived at the resort at lunch time. The front desk staff were very friendly and our rooms were great. We all had beautiful beach views and stayed in buildings 12 and 13 which are beside each other on the beach. We had asked to be put in close proximity to each other. Lilier went out of her way to make sure that we were together. Her communication was excellent and so helpful. Thank you Lilier. We hope to meet you again one day. The beach is absolutely magnificent. We had amazing weather and loved lying on the beach, swimming in the beautiful turquoise water, and walking the beach. My children enjoyed playing in the sand and collecting shells. We didn't use the pools much as we are beach lovers but the pools are beautiful and clean looking. The bartenders at the beach bar were very friendly. We really enjoyed the food. The main buffet served a nice selection of food that was always warm. Our favourites were the made to order omelettes and pastas. We also enjoyed the carved meats. We ate at a few of the a la carte restaurants. They were all really good. Our rooms were all really nice. I loved the shower! Always hot water. Nice new bathrooms and the room was always cleaned well. We enjoyed walking around the resort in the morning before the heat set in. It's very well laid out and beautifully kept. We plan to return next year. Read less
