Starfish St Lucia Resort

St Lucia, Caribbean

The hotel

The glossy greens of the hills and infinite blues of the sky, sea, and pool are paired with splashes of sunny yellow around the ocean-facing pool at Starfish St Lucia Resort – and the result’s the very picture of a tropical Caribbean escape. It spots everything you'd want from the Caribbean too. Sitting along the the famous Reduit Beach, it's just a stroll from all the fun and buzz of Rodney Bay, with its marina, mall, night clubs, bars and restaurant and from the spa at its sister hotel. Of course, with its all inclusive promise, you might not even leave your beachside base. Dining and drinking stretches from the bountiful buffet to the tantalising Italian ‘ristorante’, daytime beach grill, and swim-up bar. And little guests haven’t been forgotten either, with their Rexplorers kids’ club and babysitting promising them fun while you enjoy a spot of snorkelling or beach cricket.

We’ve visited this hotel for a shared birthday, while here the hotel was undergoing some kind of change over with company this really affected our stay as we found shortages from food, drink, activities and staff. The food here was not very good and I’m easily pleased I’ll try anything once kind of girl. While here I spent a full day in bed being sick to later find out some of the other guest had the exact same thing maybe a coincidence I don’t know ?. Most of the staff that are at this hotel are absolutely fabulous this hotel would not be a patch of what it is without them! The surroundings of the hotel are amazing although as 26-33 year old girls I did not at all feel safe outside the complex you were hounded from day to night! I’d also like to mention this hotel is NONE SMOKING! You can only smoke in designated areas around the hotel grounds. The rooms were basic nothing fancy and all come with a prison shower, yes it’s exactly like a prison shower bricked walls and a very thin curtain but hot running water what more can you ask, yes could do with a lick of paint but unless you get hit with Illness like me you are only sleeping in it. I’m not sure wether I would recommend this hotel but I would defo say go if you can find a cheap deal do not book it wanting the amazing St Lucia experience because you just won’t get it from this hotel Read less

We booked to stay at Starfish for 9 nights in a sea view room but were moved to a new hotel after a few days due to the coronavirus. The room was clean and spacious and the balcony overlooked the sea which was lovely and worth the extra cost. The only downside to the room was the bed. When we first arrived one side of the mattress had a large area where the springs had gone. We spoke to the reception staff and the mattress was replaced within an hour or so. The bathroom was clean and had everything we needed. The pool area was lovely with plenty of sun loungers. The beach was just in front of the pool so it was very easy to sit by the pool and just go down to beach for a walk or to go in the sea. The pool was big and had a swim up bar. The food at the hotel was very good. The breakfast spread included fruit, cereal, pastries and breads as well as bacon, sausages, eggs, beans and hash browns. For lunch, you can either go to the main restaurant for a buffet lunch or have lunch at the pool bar by the beach where you can order freshly cooked burgers, sandwiches and chips etc. Dinner in the evening was also very nice and again, quite a bit of choice. There are also two a la carte restaurants on site, an Italian and an Oriental. Both were excellent and we would have certainly booked to go again if we had the time. The staff at the hotel were excellent and very friendly. The hotel is a bit dated and could do with an update in areas but overall it’s a lovely, quiet hotel on a great beach. Read less
