DO NOT BOOK HERE!!! SCAM! My friend and I booked our (separate) two-week stays at Abidah directly through the hotel's website during an "early bird special" deal they were offering months in advance of our stay. We each received a confirmation email with a confirmation number after we booked, so assumed we were all set. We arrived at Abidah after a long day of traveling and were excited to check-in and get our vacation started. We waited around for a bit before someone came out of the back room to greet us and get us checked-in. The lady at the front desk was taking a looong time to check us in and asked that we showed her our confirmation emails/numbers as proof of the bookings (NEVER a good sign!!). We each pulled up the confirmation emails and she continued to type away on the computer. We were asked to take a seat while she looked into this further with the manager (Gregory). After what seemed like forever, Gregory comes over to us to inform us that the hotel had no record of either mine of my friend's reservations and that the hotel was completely booked for the entirety of our stay. How do they not have record of EITHER reservation?! He told us he'd put us up for the night while they looked into their sister resort/seeing if they can accommodate us, and a regional manager would be coming by to speak with us first thing in the morning. "Enjoy the night and relax" is what we were told to do (not sure how anyone would relax in this situation, but sure). We woke up the next morning and immediately headed to the front desk. "I haven't heard from the manager yet, go enjoy some breakfast" is what we were told. We quickly ate breakfast and headed back to the front desk. Still no word from the manager and no ETA on when he would be arriving. We waited around in the lobby for HOURS, while Gregory did his best to avoid us at all costs. Still no word from the manager, no timetable for when he'd be coming and no guarantee that a resolution would be available or that they'd be able to put us up for another night. That's when we took matters into our owns hands. We hopped on google and started researching other options. Of course, options were slim since it was so last minute- but we did find something on another island with a flight leaving that afternoon. We booked the room and the flight and left Abidah. Once we got back from our vacation, we sent an email to Abidah expressing our disappointment and frustration with the whole situation and requested to be reimbursed for the flight we took to Barbados, the flight we took to the other island and the difference in room price. Abidah declined to do the right thing and reimburse us for the added expenses we had to incur due to their negligence. What we think happened- we booked these rooms during an early bird deal they were running, so they were pretty discounted. Abidah then went ahead and "sold" the rooms we booked for a much higher price and claimed they had no record of our reservations... probably because they deleted them out of their system to make more $$$$ The hotel is TINY, the food was mediocre and the hotel isn't on the beach. You have to cross a road and walk down a hill (no clear pathway) to get to the beach. Not worth the $$ Read less

Having had a fabulous stay last November at the sister hotel, Accra Beach, we were keen to see how this smaller adults only , all inclusive hotel would compare. We were not disappointed. First of all the location next to the stunning Miami/Enterprise beach was brilliant. The complimentary sunbeds, both by the pool and on the beach were comfortable and modern. There is a constant supply of cold drinks at the beach, no need to go back to the bar. Our room was spotless, light, airy and spacious, what more could you ask for. The small kitchen area/breakfast bar was very useful. The kettle supplied on request was very welcome. The double sink in the bathroom is something I always appreciate. The shower water pressure was good, and there was always hot water. Housekeeping were exceptional. The food at this hotel was fantastic and plentiful, and far superior to any other all inclusive that I have stayed in. There was a great selection at breakfast, and every day had different options. The chef will cook items to order, and I really recommend the poached eggs and omelets, delicious! Lunch was my favourite meal, with a huge selection every day including soups, salads and traditional Bajan treats. I highly recommend chefs fried chicken, and the fish dishes were exquisite. If you prefer to eat your lunch on the beach, the catering staff will kindly give you a take out box to enjoy your meal on your lounger. Should you wish to spend the day as a guest at the sister hotel a courtesy bus will take you there and back once a day. The Manager and staff at the Abidah were all warm, friendly, and helpful, always ready to go that extra mile to ensure you were having a great time. Special shout out to Andre, his cocktail skills and ability to remember the name of every guest was amazing. Andre, how we miss your pina coladas! This exceptional hotel ticked all our boxes so we have just booked to return later this year!!!!! Very much looking forward to seeing Suresh and your wonderful team at the Abidah in November. To start, I have to praise some staff, Andeah who was always pleasant and smiling and remembered your name. Sanchia who couldn’t do enough for you. Christina and Eboney, in the restaurant and Theresa our housekeeper who made our room look extra special on my husband’s birthday. The hotel looks very nice and the rooms are nice with a hot tub on every balcony. If you are in a room on the side of the hotel ‘ sea view ‘ is a very loose term. There is no entertainment other than on Saturday night and Sunday lunch and not much to do nearby other than Fish Friday at Oistens which you can walk too. Anything else is a taxi or bus ride. The hotel lacks a strong management team in all departments. It took reporting a broken fan and a trip hazard twice and 3 days to get them sorted. A lot of things weren’t working including the hoover, so the housekeepers couldn’t do a thorough job. The toilet doors don’t lock in the public toilets. Air con can be hit and miss. Restaurant and bar staff need a lesson in etiquette. The restaurant looks like a canteen. There is no breakfast menu to show what is available. So if you want something not on the buffet ask for it and insist they ask the chef. However the food is very good. It states it’s a la carte but it’s not true a la carte and for the first few days we didn’t have it due to the hotel having a large group in. Not our problem! You don’t get vegetables with your main course so ask if you want them. There’s no outdoor seating where you can dine at lunch or in the evening which would be much more pleasant that sat in a restaurant without air conditioning or ceiling fans working adequately. The kitchen staff don’t replenish the dishes timely enough. It’s very rushed from the taking your main course order to getting the meal. You’re almost not allowed to finish your starter. The bar shuts at 10.30 pm but there is nothing to say this and you get no warning, the staff just leave. They are cleaning up and mopping whilst still serving. Some of the bar staff made you feel you were an inconvenience and were constantly on their phones. Rarely did a couple of them smile at all. The beach is lovely and just a very short walk from the hotel. The biggest issue we had was with the sun beds which are brought down to the beach from the hotel. The beds should be available from 9.30 but never are and there are only 16 beds round the pool which isn’t very big. There is no system to getting your sun beds and umbrellas. It’s definitely not like it looks on the website. The beach staff are complacent and there’s usually only person getting the beds, bring them to the beach, laying them out and putting the umbrellas up. They definitely need to rethink the system. They are also packed up at 4.30pm although we were told they would collect them as early as 3.30 pm. Surely they should be available until sunset. A lot of things would need to change before I went back to the Abidah. Read less
