Cap Maison

St Lucia, Caribbean

The hotel

At the tip of the island, the former sugar plantation that is now St Lucia’s Cap Estate is blessed with unparalleled panoramic views of where Caribbean Sea meets Atlantic Ocean. The boutique resort of Cap Maison makes the very best of these views and is designed to feel as if you are visiting your own private Caribbean residence. For dining with a view look no further than the award-winning destination restaurant, Cliff at Cap, with an innovative French West Indies fusion menu. It’s strategically placed atop the Cliff with a sunset lookout for happy hour cocktails. The pool adjacent to the restaurant enjoys the same views from its sun deck and there is an adjacent secluded beach cove appropriately named The Naked Fisherman beach restaurant. Take the 90 steps down to the sand and you’ll find a rustic beach bar serving up lunch time grills, freshly squeezed juices and wonderful rum concoctions. Kayaks, snorkels and Hobie cats are complimentary to guests or you can take some tuition for a fee. Spa Maison and the fitness centre are available for further rejuvenating body and mind; on hand there is a pilates/yoga instructor and a fitness trainer to lead morning jogs across the estate. The Cap Estate’s rolling hills have also become home to the 18-hole St Lucia Golf & Country Club. Guests at Cap Maison benefit from concessionary golf at this beautiful and challenging championship course which extends virtually from the Caribbean to the Atlantic coastlines (a complimentary shuttle takes approximately 5 minutes).

I went to St. Lucia’s Cap Maison for a quick getaway. Thank you to VIP Vacations in Bethlehem for getting great rates and suggestion this amazing property. Cap Maison is for those who are looking for the small, boutique experience. It is quaint, and luxurious on a Caribbean level. It is about an hour and a half away from the airport (standard for more hotels within the Rodney Bay area). My guest and myself were greeted with a cool drink and personal service with just some of the standard introductions of the resort. Our room was right next to one of their smaller pools so we would just walk outside of our room and there was the pool. Perfect location. The rooms were small (no living area or couch), but the bathrooms were big. The bathroom with the sinks, shower, and toilet were separate from the bedding area. Double vanity sinks, open concept shower (no door) and water closet. We had 2 twin beds so they were on the tiny side, versus 2 double beds. Overall, it was a comfortable room without much frills. There aren’t many outlets in the rooms. That would probably be my only negative comment about the room. The food was the highlight. There are only 2 restaurants. The main restaurant that is open air or the beach restaurant. The main restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The views were just stunning! I could have just stayed there all day to view the ocean and the waves coming in. There are two plans (EP and all-inclusive). The menus have asterixis to indicate what you can get on the all-inclusive portion of the menus. There is room service (didn’t use) which does have a $10 service charge even if included in the all-inclusive. The beach is about a 5-minute walk away (including traveling down a flight of stairs). There are locals that can visit this beach as well. It was very nice. Other features of this resort are a “honesty bar” and lounge which has books, games, and a TV. The spa is also available. There is a main pool in addition to the smaller pool which we stayed close too. The staff was wonderful at this property. Everyone was very friendly and said hello every time we passed. We saw the general manager everyday just passing by throughout the property. If we needed anything the concierge was always present to answer questions. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone who is looking for a quiet romantic getaway. There really isn’t much to do on property so I wouldn’t recommend kids. For couples, the good time will come with enjoying each other’s company and the romantic surroundings. Thank you again VIP Vacations for your help! Read less

We stayed in Cap Maison for the first part of our honeymoon in May and it was the perfect place to relax. The hotel is a beautiful collection of boutique rooms in the north of St Lucia. The weather wasn’t great during our stay so we spent a lot of time dodging the rain. There isn’t a huge amount to do around the area in poor weather without spending a lot on cabs however we managed to relax a lot and rather than eat out of the resort stayed in. The beach is nice and small and has a nice restaurant the Naked Fisherman. They do bbqs here in the evening however due to the weather we didn’t get to do this. The pools are lovely the only negative is that they were doing work while we visited so there was a lot of banging which was a shame. The food at cliff at cap is really nice. Breakfast is lovely and changes every day. Dinner is quite expensive and we weren’t on AI so hit us hard the times we eat here. We also did Rock Maison which cost A LOT but it was our honeymoon so worth it. The only negative with food is that a lot was over cooked and the room service pasta (had to get it when it was pouring with rain) was really bad. Everything else was really good! The service was really good here and everyone’s so friendly. The other great thing is the cats! They’re so cute and come to visit you in your room too :) We also got a really nice welcome for our honeymoon which makes a difference Read less

I'd say the service was lacking somewhat, but i conveyed all of my problems to VIP Vacations and they took care of everything for me. That St. Lucia airport however, be warned, Hewanorra is not easy! The hotel property is gorgeous and on a small nook with a small beach that has watersports included. Both restaurants associated with the property were amazing - as in Michelin-star type amazing! We are foodies, so we loved that. The rooms are a tad rustic in the way that the A/C is only in the bedrooms and there are mosquito nets, but we didn't mind and loved it. Would recommend! Read less

We thoroughly enjoyed every second of the most relaxing vacation I can remember! The food was incredible, the views breathtaking. Customer service was exceptional, efficient and friendly - restaurants, check-in/out, concierge, etc. If we had a question about what our all inclusive package covered (with different options available, it isn't always obvious since it's not one-size-fits-all), all we had to do was ask and they were very forthcoming with information. We did the boat adventure - a full day touring the island, sulfur springs, mud baths, snorkeling - it was fun and we would definitely recommend it. But otherwise we just took FULL advantage of what Cap Maison does best ... providing a picture perfect setting - quiet, no crowds, no rushing, great food, fun drinks, pure relaxation. It's not always the vibe I'm going for on vacation, but it was SO great to just unplug and BE for a while, that it may very well have just redefined some things for me. Without question, we will return someday! Villas with private rooftop pool are worth it - nice having the choice to move around among that pool, the main pool & the beach, depending on what we were in the mood for. (Those 92 steps down to the beach aren't as bad as they sound....we enjoyed the walk). They also arranged our transportation - helicopter on the way in, car on the way out (loved our driver!) - so we saw all of St Lucia by air, land & sea - so glad we did! Thank you Cap Maison, for everything! We will see you again! Read less
