My boyfriend & I stayed at Couples Swept Away July 13th to July 17th & we enjoyed our vacation BUT there were 1 too many things that went wrong for me. When we arrived our room wasn't ready so they put us in another room(Beachfront Verandah Suite)until ours was ready which was fine. Once our room was ready(Great house ocean suite) someone came to take us to our room & we had to walk up 3 flights of steps (annoying) & once we got upstairs the hallway was dark & gloomy & it smelled funny. We get to the room & there's no remote for the T.V., the refrigerator was falling apart & there was a big spider in the bathroom on the ceiling. Oh & there was a chair in the room that had glass or something in the armrest part & one side the glass was missing. I called & complained & they asked me if we would like to go back to the 1st room (Beachfront Verandah Suite) that we were in & we gladly accepted the offer. I was told that it was an upgrade but it really wasn't because I checked the price & it was a little cheaper than the room we paid for but I didn't complain because we loved the room & the location of the room. We never knew what was going on around the resort because the 4 nights we were there we never received a activity flyer until the day before we left & that was only because I complained about that as well. Being able to walk right off your Verandah straight into the beautiful ocean water was great!! The food was good. All in all we had a good time but when you haven't been able to travel for months & finally get the opportunity to do so & you spend almost $2600 you shouldn't have to complain about anything especially when the resort isn't even crowded. I'm undecided if I would ever stay here again because if you have this many issues when it's not crowded image what might happen when they are crowded. Read less

Pros- THE BEACH AND WATER IS AWESOME ! The food is awesome. You will be impressed with the visual quality and the fresh ingredients used at all of the restaurants. I had the meanest lobster tail there at palms ! Do not let me get started on the lamb chops o my goodness. Feathers made some mean Lamb chops delicious! The all inclusive package is generous with a few excursions and travel shuttle to and from the airport. The workers remembered us by names and hunted for us high and low to tell us about the entertainment they had each evening. TRY THE CABANA GRILL . The jerk chicken was delicious. The resort is clean . All the staff was helpful. If you are a fitness enthusiast there is a big complex across the street to suit all your exercise goals . One big plus this resort has that I love is that while all the food is included with alcoholic drinks it’s never a push to over drink and over eat . It’s not that type of resort . When I go to Mexico food and liquor is everywhere. Here you have to make more of an effort to get the food . I didn’t get drunk my 8 days here . That’s a big plus because gluttonous behavior is bad for the body. Cons- Room service is extremely lacking .Only breakfast. If you don’t go to the extremely wonderful restaurants at night you are out of luck unless you try the cabana grill . Cabana grill menu is lacking at night . choices are extremely limited when compared to the day menu .Bring bug spray . This is not a knock on the resort but I was bitten by mosquitoes and sand flies multiple times . Rooms are clean but pretty standard. I think that is on purpose so you can focus more on the resort and your love one. Rooms could stand a refresh. Not bad and not a huge knock but keep that in mind . Resort pretty much shuts down at 11 p.m so keep that in mind as well. All and all I was impress and enjoyed my stay at couples swept away . If you want a great all inclusive where you can relax and enjoy your love one with activities included you cannot go wrong with Couples Swept Away. It was worth every penny. Read less

The grounds keeper was awesome ensuring the beach appearance in the morning was up to standards. CWS is my second home. I started my Caribbean travel in June 2014 after trying cruising. Most people talked more about cruising. I tried that and did not like. We did a 7-day cruise to the Mexican Rivera. Was okay but not for me. So, wife and I tried going to a island. We had no idea what we were doing or going. My wife select Jamaica with the resort being CWS but cannot figure why. Needless to say, it was the best decision every. Since 2014, we have been coming back every year. It is part of our annual budget. We have traveled to many other resorts and islands in the Caribbean. There is nothing like CWS. CWS is a true beach resort as compared to a hotel on a beach front which is what most shoreline resorts are. They cater to the travelers use to staying in hotels with the exotic big pools. Many of these places are just gorgeous but with no personal vibe or personality. They are just there. After you get pass the gorgeousness, it is just ordinary. CWS gives you just what you need in room accommodations and paradise without the extravaganza of a luxury hotel. This is not the say this place is cheap looking, cheaply managed or accommodating and certainly not small. This is a mid-size property with a lot of natural shade. It is a eco-luxury mixed into paradise. It is all about the beach. While there are two pools, 99.9% of guest are at the beach. You will not spend a lot of time in your room. The beach and the environment will be calling out for you! The water is crystal clear and calm. No big waves. No seaweed. The beach is not rocky. The floor is all smooth sand. There are more lounge chairs than one can count. Each lounge chair has its own 6 foot long floatie that you use to float on in the water. You will not find floaties like this at most luxury resorts (if any at all) and definitely not used at the beach. The calmness of the water makes this all possible. The beach property has a lot of natural shade. So, there is no need for pelotas. You can move the lounges, chairs and tables any where you like on the beach. The resorts provides its own water sports including a the evening catamaran sail up to the cliff. Most if not all their water sports are included (not sure about all the diving excursions. It is romantic at night as you walk through the different pathways through the well-kept luscious vegetation throughout the resort property. The food is Jamaican excellent! And the people are what really make the paradise pop! You will feel like you have known them before you came. They are so down to earth. Had to reschedule to 2021 cause of COVID. I miss the vibe, the people, the aura and ambience of the property. The return rate to this resort is 80-90%. May be higher. That says a lot about this resort. So, if you looking for a mature, relaxing, natural feel without the high octane nightlife (There is nightlife but not high octane. You can find this further up the beach. Just follow the sounds of party. Ya Mon!! It is in walking distance or get a ride.), this is the place to come and forget about time and recharge your batteries. Read less

We visited for 9 nights as a group of 3 couples in January 2020. We arrived quite late in the evening and after a painful security we go to the couples lounge we were greeted by person in reception and wisked onto the bus within around 20 minutes. The bus journey was around 2 hours for us. We arrived on Friday evening at rush hour, so expect a long journey if you arrive at this time. Check in was relatively painless apart from the confusion with the bags, they need to work a better system for organising them. Room We were shown to room in which was a Atrium suite. We had requested a quiet room away from the road and I have to say, it was far from quiet. There is no glass in these rooms because you are suppose to able to hear the “sounds of Jamaica” and this would be fine if it were just the tree frogs. But the reality is that you hear cars, whatever beach party is happening that night in the local area and one of the many cats fighting. After our first night I did speak to reception and they moved me further aways from the road. This was better but far from peaceful. Leaving noise out of the question, the rooms are very nice, the balcony was the highlight for us and this is where we spent most of our time while at the room. Food We ate in the all the restaurants and for the most part the food was good. Always a good selection and many dishes to try. For breakfast we found the buffet food to be consistently good, a good fruit selection and excellent Omelettes. It was nice to have a change of scenery and go to the al a cart for breakfast however as we found with the restaurant the staff can become a bit tiresome, it felt like at times I was back at school as I was told off for entering the restaurant from the wrong place. Lunch Again the buffet was always good and sea grapes was one of our favourites. We had a vegan and vegitrain in are party and they catered very well to them. Dinner Our favourite was lemon grass and managed to eat here twice. The buffet was again good but most nights they played music which made it near impossible to talk to anyone on our table. Beach It was long and clean, the sea was very warm on our January visit. The people selling on the beach are annoying at first but you get used it. Loungers can be difficult to find at times, but for the most part it was fine. Activities Definitely one of the biggest pluses of this hotel. There were plenty of activities during the day and from pebble painting to water sports. We did the included sunset cruise, which was good fun. The scuba dive team were very good and friendly. It was a little annoying having to rush down each morning to get our names on the scuba list for the following day. The sports facility was excellent, a huge lap pool that I used everyday and an open air gym. This was a great place for also relaxing, not may people went and payed Staff Very mixed generally activity and bar. staff were friendly and memorable but staff working in the restaurants especially the buffet could come across as rude. Would I return, probably not... I would say value for money, this is excellent. Couples does a lot of things well, but is a little rough around the edges. It’s not what you would call luxury, but still very nice. Read less
