Faena Hotel Miami Beach

Miami Beach, Miami

The hotel

Daring to be different, yet featuring enough deco-detailing to make the grade in Miami, this five star retreat may be all cool white and slick lines on the outside, but inside it’s filled with sumptuous velvety reds, glitzy golds, and warm woods and leather: nowhere more so than in its very own theatre, an opulent cabaret venue with a nod to the grand old opera houses of Europe’s capitals. The dining’s just as decadent, ranging from the modern Asian creations of master chef Paul Qui, in the ocean view Pao restaurant, to the live-fire Argentine cooking of renowned South American chef Francis Mallman, at Los Fuegos. They’ve even thrown in a sand-skirting location on Miami Beach, a luxury spa with Amazon-sourced products, and an oceanfront pool and sunbathing deck.

My husband and I have been traveling to this hotel once a month for the last year. The service is absolutely amazing. KELVIN immediately greets the guests prior to check in. He is beyond professional, helpful, accommodating, and kind. He has continually made our trips memorable and is one of the many reasons we come back to this hotel. During check-in Roberto, the lead guest experience manager, was very helpful and accommodated us immediately when we experienced minor hiccups. Today’s day, it is rare to find hotels with this type of service. We will be back very soon. Thank you Read less

This is my new fave hotel in Miami! The room was absolutely beautiful along with the grounds. I loved the outdoor bar area. I stay often at this hotel. Staff is very attentive and helpful. In particular Philippe who was our poolside server did everything to accommodate our group. He was friendly and helpful with food and drink recommendations, and over all added to our very positive experience at The Faena.

I was thoroughly disappointed with the entire stay. Although the concierge and front desk check in we’re good, the rest of the service but especially the food service was terrible. The Sun bar food service at the beach was probably the worst I have ever had at a hotel. We waited over an hour to receive our food, did not get the correct order, and the waiter could barely understand what I was trying to tell him was wrong. He didn’t even know what ranch dressing was to bring out and instead brought mayonnaise twice in a row. In addition, I asked for my check as soon as I get the food to sign for it and 45 minutes later I’d still not received it. Thus, I clearly did not pay for the food. I also had a terrible experience with my wife at the main restaurant in the main hotel restaurant, Los Fuegos. Although the service was acceptable, the food itself was tremendously subpar. Finally, what was supposed to be a cool Faena district was nothing. The bazaar had barely anything in the shops that was reasonably priced and reasonably enticing to us. Overall, there is no way I would ever stay at this hotel again. Save your money and go to the Fontainebleau ! Alan Faena and Frances Mallmann ought to be ashamed and get back on property to figure out what is going on and how to fix it. Read less
