Our 20th wedding anniversary trip could not have been more perfect! The all inclusive package was exceptionally good value. It really did include everything you could need and you could definitely not need to spend anything else while you were at Finolhu. The service was exceptional. There was a huge variety of food that was fresh and delicious. The room was spacious, spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. I loved having our own pool and direct ocean access. We swam, snorkeled and read while lounging around our room and deck all day. We saw dolphins from our room, had a butler who organised everything for us and there was so many fish right outside our room. The rooms are very private, however there is a little bit of visibility between your neighbour when you are in the pool. Overall it was an amazing holiday and I can’t wait to go back to Finolhu! Finoluh Weve been lucky enough to have been to The Maldives twice before, this is our 3rd time and it's easily the best so far! Wherever you go in the Maldives is going to be special don't get me wrong, but there are a few stand out jewels of the ocean that just have it all and Finoluh is definitely one of those... This truly is somewhere you don't need footwere, I've been to places before where it says no footwhere necessary, but when you get there, it's stoney hard sand. That's not the case here... beautiful, soft white sand roads winding through the jungle - all roads lead to paradise here... For us, one of the things that take a Holiday to the next level are the staff and here is no exception, everyone from Gardener's, Waiting Staff, Cleaners, the Management and everyone in between, which we haven't had the pleasure of meeting, they are fantastic! Really friendly, chatty, and eager to please and help with your every need.... A few staff members who we were lucky to meet and have stood out for us are...... Chipie (Waiter, always smiling and happy) Upul (one of the Wine Waiters, went above and beyond, recommending drinks and general info about the Restraunts/Bars) Adil (kept our room 109 spotless) Bakku (Pool Bar Waiter, always happy and kept us well topped up with drinks Siraj (Waiter, excellent service, with good recommendations and a smile Asanka (Bar Supervisor, kept the bar running smooth and was always interested in how our day has been and what we had planned. Ikram, our Rahuu (Butler), she was amazing, she had all our Restraunts pre booked before we even arrived, we were free to change them about but we're happy with what she'd organised, so we went with it. She was also smiling and laughing all the time. Overwater Rooms are spacious and modern design with classic upcycled furniture theme throughout, beds are huge, we have a Super King Size bed at home but these are as wide as ours is long and really comfy too! The outside decking area looking out over the Lagoon (Sunrise side) it too is very spacious, with loads of room to Sunbathe and space to get under cover if you wish, I wrote most of this review on the large Daybed, chilling with a drink, listening to the sound of waves crashing under the deck, whilst the Mrs was getting ready for the evening meals... ...Speaking of which, one of our favourite parts of our Holidays is the food, we really love great fresh food, that's presented beautifully and bursts with flavour and credit to the Chefs, this place doesn't dissapoint, our 1st night we decided to just go to the Buffett as we were a bit tired after a long delayed flight and we didn't really want to start getting dressed up, we just wanted something quick so we could get to bed ready for the next day. The quality was that good, I actually said I'd be happy if the island didn't have any other restaurants, it really was beautiful food and if your picky you will find something you like here, it's amazing quality and taste whatever you choose! They also have Theme Nights on different days, so if there's a particular type of food you prefer, i.e., Asian, Maldivian, Italian, you'll be covered here. Although the Buffet quality is amazing I do recommend using the Al-e-Cart options too, Crab Shack, Arabian Grill or Japanese, this is where you'll get specific style gastronomy cooked to perfection, with attentive service and friendly faces, all in all an amazing experience for a foodie!! Kanusan (Japanese Restaurant) Beautiful food, we're big fans of Asian food especially Sushi so we weren't dissapointed here, we did the All Inclusive Premium (AIP) Package so you get most things included, however, in all Restaurants there are a few things that are optional chargeable extras, but you could just as easily have an amazing meal without spending anything extra, it's your choice and the waiters inform you what's what. Crab Shack This is right near the end of the peninsula we walked from the Pool the 1st time, it took 14mins but it is hot and I'd recommend covering up and using plenty of Suncream, the sun is intense around the time you'll be walking for lunch... The food is beautiful, and the menu is extensive, not just Fish and Crabs but Stake, Salads and Chicken also, so there's plenty to choose... 2nd time we went here for Lunch, we got the boat, it takes around 2 mins to get there....We watched a few YouTube Videos before coming to the island and the boat that takes you to the Crab Shack on the Videos was quite an old style slow motorboat, however, while we've been here it's seems to have had an upgrade and it's more of a big speed boat now. Crabshak is also where the White Party is held on a Friday, so if you can book your evening meal here you'll get to keep your table for the whole night when the party starts - it's not a strict white only policy, but do you really wanna be that guy..? During the evening they have a meet and greet with the Managers and Executive Chef then a presentation, with a Marine Biologist explaining all about the Coral and the Sealife you find in and around the House Reef and how to help protect it - I found this interesting and forgot about my food, so it went cold, but it was still beautiful. Arabian Grill Does what it says on the tin, it's middle Eastern Salads, Tagines and Grills, out of pure luck we booked at the same time as the Tribal Fire Show was happening on the beach behind the Buffet Restaurant, so we were able to eat and be entertained at the same time. Wildlife, Sea Life, and Snorkling There's not much wildlife on the land here, I've seen a few Lizards, Bats and some birds and that's about it, being an Island in the middle of the Indian Ocean miles away from anywhere it's never gonna have lots of exotic Mamals really. At previous resorts we're used to walking to and from our room watching Sharks, Tuna, Mantas, etc just swimming by, however it was very quiet here during our walks and I probably only counted 20 things over our whole stay whilst walking up and down the jetty to our room. Snorkeling isn't great on the Sunrise side either without going out a lot further, again we're just used to just stepping off the steps from our room and seing Sharks, Mantas and smaller fish swimming by our feet but there's hardly anything on the Sunrise side (Lagoon) or at the main beach near the pool there's not really any Coral for the fish to nest near, if you aren't bothered about Sealife then this will probably be perfect spot as there are no sharp rocks or coral it just sand, so very easy to walk in and it only about 5-6ft deep for quite away before it drops off and gets deeper. Snorkling on the Sunset side is better, (lefthand side of the jetty, if your walking up to your room) there are plenty of different fish swimming around here, still not seen Sharks though which were abundant in previous resorts we've been too. We have seen a video of a dolphin just chilling in the water under one of the rooms, which I wish I'd witnessed myself, but just seeing the video was amazing!!! While we were here the water was a bit choppy on the Sunset Side so it was churning the sand up and making it a bit murky in the shallows but as soon as you got about 10m out it was quite easy to see.... and there is a lot more going on on this side. We're here til the 26th April so if your coming out and want any info, let me know, and I'll see if I can help Phil and Jo Read less

The experience was amazing. Overall the resort location and views and villas were superb. The food was very delicious and they had many varieties. The hotel was very clean. The staff were very kind, friendly and attentive. Overall I felt welcomed, relaxed, safe, secure and pampered. The Staff: (Ikram) - THE STAR OF THE SHOW Let me say that the star of the show was the butler/cordinator (Ikram), she played a major role in making my stay as joyful and memorable as possible. She made me feel safe and well taken care of. She assisted me before I arrive to the hotel and was very helpful. Also she assisted me in everything during my stay and was always following up to make sure everything goes well. She helped me find nice and joyful activities to do on daily bases and was very attentive. I also faced a complication with my flight back and had to stay 1 additional night in Male city close the the airport. (Ikram) assisted me in everything and helped me book a good hotel close to the airport and she followed up with the Finolhu airport team to assist me all the way and she kept checking with me until I arrived safely back home. She was truly an angel and made me feel safe and secure no matter what the situation was. A big THANK YOU to (Ikram). She is the definition of professionalism, experience and hospitality. (Yasin) He was one of the staff working at the main restaurant. He was so nice and friendly. He was very attentive and always paying attention to me and anything I need when I am at the restaurant. Really good treatment and manners. (Laxmi) She was the massage therapist at the spa and she was amazing. She understands the guest needs and really gives a professional massage and treatment. I stayed for 8 days and everyday I had a daily session with her. She was very kind and friendly and very experienced. (Martina) The diving instructor. I went diving with her during my stay and she was very lovely and friendly. She took good care of me during my diving experience and trained me well. I felt safe with her during my diving trip. Beautiful Island, excellent service, staff, food. Very well maintained. We felt on holiday the second we landed with the seaplane. Special highlight for the Crab Shack, Kanusan and the Milk Lab which add a lot to the overall already excellent F&B experience. I can only recommend !
