The hotel

The Hard Rock name has hit the Maldives, bringing its inimitable chill out scene to the ultimate laidback location. A new concept in the Maldives, it’s more than just barefoot luxury and days of sunbathing, swimming, and snorkelling (although there’s plenty of that too). A footbridge links you to the Marina @ CROSSROADS, where a Hard Rock Café, Beach Club, and a dining village await. And, being a Hard Rock hotel, you’ll also find VIP-worthy treats in store, like Rock Spa® treatments, super-chic eateries (The All-Inclusive option here takes your taste buds beyond the resort too, meaning you can dine around at SAii Lagoon and The Marina @ CROSSROADS), and exclusive ‘Sound of Your Stay’ music moments, including complimentary use of Fender guitars and Crosley turntables — all just 15 minutes speedboat ride from the airport.

The Hard Rick cafe is not to be missed, staff amazing food and service is great, and the nightly live bands just gives great vibes. Use of bikes on the island is a great benefit, but don’t expect them to be where you left them, in many cases ours got taken by other guest which was extremely frustrating. Read less

For example our dinner at the Hardrock Cafe was complimentary. On our last day our flight was at 11pm so they even gave us a late check out of 8 pm instead of the usual 12pm. Alfar, an employee of Hardrock was excellent. He was at our service throughout our stay, from picking us up and dropping us at the airport as well as throughout the resort, and even making dinner reservations for us and more. Will definitely recommend Alfar and Hardrock Hotel to our friends and family. Read less

The restaurants and choice of food is amazing, something for everyone. Staff at the Beach Club at the bar at Mr Tom looked after us, drinks flowing along with Putra’s (Made) team at the Hard Rock Cafe… just amazing! Thank you guys for all the hard work to make this a great holiday. We will be back soon ! Read less

If you come to the Hard Rock then YES! that doesn’t mean there are too many kids either. The facilities and experiences they offer under 18’s is vast. Our Sons 12 & 16 really enjoyed the Red Mat with Miguel. We can’t speak highly enough of Miguel or the experience he gave us. Our youngest went twice a day to BJJ classes and came away from his 2 week stay with a new hobby. We’d come back to this resort for Miguel alone! Thank you Miguel, we really value you and all you do, you’re a special soul. Lauren offers Ariel classes which again aren’t run of the mill in most hotels. We found it incredible that they had such unique experiences for children and adults. Lauren’s evening shows were really special. In the kids club the house band offered daily music lessons. Piano, ukulele, guitar and drums! Again, which hotel does this, it was fabulous. Our only suggestion is there needs to be a kids weekly band! The evening entertainment is also fabulous, the house band Deviate 3 is not to be missed. They’re usually in the HR cafe or play outside at themed evenings on the beach. We’d also love there to be a house band karaoke evening. This would be epic! My husbands complaint was the lack of a piano! He was really hoping they’d be one as there has been in other HR’s we’ve stayed in. All of us thoroughly enjoyed our evenings. We didn’t have one boring, lack lustre evening. During the day there’s plenty to do with a full daytime activity list for all ages or there’s lots of quiet areas to go and sit and chill. Massive credit needs to go to the friendly bar staff at the HR pool. Thank you so much to the team for their hard-work and delicious drinks. We were AI but I don’t drink, there was still a fab list of mocktails, iced coffee and milkshakes. I think our son almost drank the bar dry of Fanta 🤣 We didn’t go to the 3 premium restaurants but as AI we were allocated $50pp towards the bill. We went to all the other restaurants including some at the Hilton Saai. We thoroughly enjoyed all the food, in fact by the end of 10 days we were sick of the sight of food. I’m a vegetarian and there were loads to offer. The Indian and Thai were firm favourites with Olive Oyl for lunch. I had the best coconut ice cream ever in the Thai restaurant. All the restaurants were of a great standard. The only issue we had was with the Maldivian 3rd party restaurant as we found the AI allowance a little confusing. Good snorkelling sites can be found at the end of the pier of water villas near the main pool. At the end of the pier is a ladder and if you swim directly out there’s a good little spot. Also in the area under the saai bridge. Snorkelling equipment is free from the dive centre. We did a jet ski trip which was great fun. I loved the fact that the bikes were free, so much easier than previous Islands we’ve visited. On the marina there are various shops and cafes. The chemist is very reasonably priced. Ladies please be aware that they don’t sell tampax. I’d love to stay in a water villa next time. As a family of 5 we stayed in a family duplex. It was a great space, there isn’t oodles of privacy but the space was great. The minibar isn’t included so we just asked for it to be emptied and we filled it with water. There’s tea and an espresso machine. You also get toothbrushes and robes to use. The TV in the room had loads of channels and movies and music which we also enjoyed. We’d like to give special thanks also to Kishore who sorted everything out for us. What a guy. He was instrumental to our positive stay, thank you Kishore. So what are the downsides? Well, the good comes hand in hand with the bad. Being only 15 mins from Male by boat you can see the mainland from the island, something that did take me a while to get my head around. Did it detract from my holiday….in all honesty, no. This hotel truly has something for everyone. Until next time X Read less

Despite there are 100s of hotels across Maldives islands; Hard Rock Maldives Hotel and CrossRoads island are top notch! Don’t think twice; this the best resort you and your family members/ friends will enjoy and cherish for many years.
