First of all, Nick at the front desk is great. The view from the balcony to the water is great when you are not subjected to cigarette smoke from other people on balconies around you. The smoke ruins the balcony experience. There was more smoking by the pools. As others have said, make sure you don't end up in the Captiva tower. We didn't and… Read more
First of all, Nick at the front desk is great. The view from the balcony to the water is great when you are not subjected to cigarette smoke from other people on balconies around you. The smoke ruins the balcony experience. There was more smoking by the pools. As others have said, make sure you don't end up in the Captiva tower. We didn't and were thankful. But the parking situation needs to be remedied. We had to valet one night because the parking garage was full for self parking. We were not about to park 1/4 mile down at the captiva tower and pay for it. They should be ashamed for charging $12 a night for self parking. They do not waive resort fees for Platinum members. If you want a place where you will get a suite upgrade with no resort fees or parking fees, stay at the Westin Cape Coral. It's only half an hour to Sanibel. Hotel said they had no suites to upgrade to but that's not what the Marriot app said. The tub in our room was dirty and gargled which required a maintenance visit. Covid is a lousy excuse to not do housekeeping. No breakfast coupons and no housekeeping due to "covid." They should replace the locked mini bar with a mini fridge. The LOCKED mini bar is just taking up valuable space that could be used for a fridge. This place has potential but improvements need to be made to justify their usual room rates. Instead, they nickel and dime you. Read less

I’ve stayed here several times. The staff treat you like royalty. Nick at front desk and Joel at Charley’s are rock stars. If you’re a bourbon lover, see Joel and ask what he has in the infuser. He’s a mad scientist!

The hotel was great. It has the best of all. A little private beach, nice pool and even nicer jacuzzi. I always wish that Marriott Hotels in general expand their menus towards healthier choices. I have tried in another one the fish tacos and they didn't have flavor at all. Had to pick hamburger in this one. A mediterranean platter and a ceviche choice would do it :) Staff was very friendly except for the concierge lady and the lady that answers when you call from the room. Concierge lady prefers to answer the phone than the persons she has on front of her. And the lady that answers from the room immediately said they dont have mini fridges when I requested one - even after letting her know that in the old room from which we were switched was one. But the gentleman who assisted me through the great app Marriott has for room service request went out of his way and got it for us. Thanks to him, the fruits and yogurt I bought for my little one didn't get bad. The restaurants staff, valet, front desk were all pretty great and helpful too. It was a very good and complete experience. PS: they also have a jet ski service in the hotel, from a secondary party. Very nice ppl too. Read less
