I have stayed at the Cove 4X and this was the last. Customer service is almost non existent, extremely limited dining options, barely functioning elevators makes for long waits, large crowds make seats at the pool extremely limited. It was once a beautiful place with great people but it has been on a steady decline.

I had rebooked/paid my trip to the cove for 3 nights on Expedia . I selected the more expensive option to get a deluxe room on a higher floor . After I booked I emailed the hotel and simply asked for a high floor facing west as I have gone before. They said they would try to accommodate and responded immediately. I also rebooked all my restaurants and spa. The day of my travel I had an emergency and had to fly out the next day. I tried calling the hotel to no avail multiple times so I emailed the hotel and was once again promptly responded to. Being a true 5 star hotel I felt confident they would have my room ready with a high floor facing west. After knowing I was delayed. I fully paid for 3 nights and was only going to be there for 2. Upon my arrival at 1 pm in the afternoon I was told my reservation was cancelled and they had to reinstate my booking. I was told my resort credits were reduced as I was only staying 2 nights instead of 3 even though I fully paid for 3. Finally I was told my room would only be ready at 4 pm. My afternoon gone. I was upset and told them their error is not my fault. After going to the. A k and deliberating they came back with a ready room on the 5th floor. I didn’t want this room and escalated this to a manager. He told me if I wanted what I want I would have to wait till 4. I choose to wait. This process above took about 45 minutes. I came back to the front desk at 3 and the manager said he got the room I wanted would extend $100 resort credit and would send champagne. Something changed and I felt they were finally doing the right thing even though my room was not ready before and I was entitled to $50/100 of that credit. Room l1218 high floor facing east…ok let’s start the vacation. First day recap Cove pool and staff amazing 9/10 Spa amazing 9/10 Dinner at nobu great 8.6/10 Atlantis marina cute No champagne it’s ok Second day Cove pool great resort great I have a reservation at Paranzo the Italian place in the evening. As I’m getting ready I decide to check my folio . It was touched by staff with a $100 debit and credit the day after my check in. Before that I had a $330.00 charge from paranza the night before. I did not go to this resto . This was all a shock as your room key has access to your funds and ID. I collected myself and went to front desk. I spent about an hour at front desk with no reason being given for the debit and credit and an email sent to the restaurant to investigate the charge. I cancel my reservation to the restaurant and decide to go down the street to four seasons. Before I leave the cove I go to paranza. The manger comes over is surprised and takes my info. He’s says he will look into this. I tell him I had reservations to the restaurant that night. The cove removed the charge but still no one could explain what happened and why there was a debit and credit . I was checking out the next day and no word from anyone regarding what happened After I left I email their quality assurance folks and was given systematic answers. They took no ownership in the errors and basically told me it’s a coachable moment for their team. I asked for this to be escalated to a manger and for over a week no response. I forwarded the note to concierge as well asking to send to a manager and not response. I’m surprised at the lack of accountable and the follow up. I spent 48 hours out of a paid 72 hours at the cove and they went on to further reduce my vacation by taking my time to correct their problems. If I didn’t catch the folio error I would be spending double the time fixing their mistake when I was back home. Judging by the lack of response I would be having a hell of time fixing the issue. The lack of foresight by managers from the front desk to the restaurant in turning a mistake into a win is shocking for a 5 star hospitality resort. The cove is fantastic as long as no mistakes are made. If a mistake is made fix it and make it right. With concierge I asked to have my note forwarded to the Gm Greg skondroski. I apologize if I misspell that. I know that name because I was sent an email from the cove to talk about my experience and it was signed by him followed about by a Tripadvisor review request. Well here it is Greg. Go to the cove, great facilities, great pool great staff. Just send management to Atlantis Dubai so they can experience what people expect from your brand. Read less

3rd trip to Atlantis, but the first in over 10 years. It has grown and is still beautiful and well maintained. The COVE is a nice alternative with an adult-only pool and less crowding compared to the rest of the resort. The biggest disappointment was the food. By the end of the trip I could not tolerated another terrible $300-$400 meal. All of the restraints were consistently disappointing. The meals are tasteless and you are pushed to make room for the next guest. It is a factory set to look nice but move as many through as possible as fast as possible! When you meet others at the pool they all have the same sentiment about the overpriced terrible meals. Some Restaurant notes: NOBU, we have enjoyed NOBU in 5 other locations. Here you get the same menu, but the food is pushed at you at a crazy speed and you pushed to be in and out quickly. The noise is ridiculous as well. Perch, absolutely terrible food a service. They screwed up eggs unlike anyone I've ever seen. The food was terrible and again the service was slow and the people unfriendly. SeaFire Steak House, overpriced poor quality beef with no tase. Again, pushed to be in and out as fast as possible. Fish, terrible seafood. Dry and tasteless. The service was good though! Club Martinique, again for quality food, but good service. Fresca serviced the pool at the COVE, again, tasteless, poor quality food. The only "good" meals we had were breakfast at the Poseidon Table Buffet where the made to order omelettes were good as was the vast selection of other items. Atlantis is a beautiful setting and the property is well maintained and clean. Unfortunately it is VERY expensive, which would be okay if the quality matched the price. The COVE is a beautiful room and the adult-only pool is very relaxing for those not wanting to be in family setting. Read less

The Cove is not 5 star. The rooms and facilities do not reflect 5 star or even 4 star. The property used to be much nicer/high end but is definitely showing its age and it is time for ownership (Brookfield) to invest in a full renovation. Accommodations/resort should be much nicer for the pricing category. Overall service was quite good. Staff very nice and helpful throughout the property. Guest rooms: Old and worn (stained, ripped old carpet, bathrooms not that clean with lots of random hairs and fixtures showing age). Had to call maintenance multiple times because toilet wouldn’t flush. Air conditioning didn’t work that great and housekeeping would raise the temp every time they cleaned. General areas: Other than the main entrance/lobby the entire hotel needs to be thoroughly renovated. Many guest elevators out of service on multiple days during our stay resulting in crowded elevators and long lines. General feeling of facilities being dirty and worn. Room service needs better staffing. 90+ mins for a small breakfast order of toast and fruit plate? Pool/beach: Cove Pool (adults only)-you should not go unless you enjoy loud DJ music all day long; not peaceful at all so make sure you like DJ blasting music with somewhat cheesy pool vibe before heading to this pool. Not relaxing at all. The Cove doesn’t offer lounge chairs /service at beach-you have to use the Reef beach. Lounges/cushions at the Reef pool and beach are old/dirty and need to be replaced. Much better Bonvoy options elsewhere for this price/points category. Based on news articles, Atlantis owner Brookfield was exploring a sale of the Atlantis in 2023. If sale doesn’t happen I hope they spend some money to fix up the Atlantis, particularly the Cove. Read less
