The Don Cesar

St Pete Beach, Clearwater and St Pete

The hotel

The stomping ground of celebrities past and present (think F Scott Fitzgerald in earlier years and Justin Timberlake more recently), The Don CeSar Hotel is regarded as Florida’s legendary Pink Palace. Registered with the Historic Hotels of America, it effortlessly blends the Great Gatsby era of pampering with modern European grandeur. Picture-perfect in every way, the beach is a wonderful place to relax or indulge in a variety of exciting water sports – kite surfing anyone? There are also 2 beautifully furnished beachfront swimming pools to take advantage of, so grab a good book and some sun cream and enjoy! Whilst you’re busy, chilling out or enjoying a pampering session at the spa perhaps, the kids will be having at ball at Camp Cesar. Enjoy the family-friendly touches – there are kid’s menus and even a cupboard full of toys to play with! Even a dedicated retail shop carrying all the essentials to keep kids and teens happy and active. At Camp Cesar, however, they’ll have the time of their lives, participating in beach crafts, seashell hunting, castle contests and pool games. Dine around The Don at one of our many restaurants or lounges. Enjoy dining al fresco for Breakfast, Lunch, or Dinner at Sea Porch, experience an exquisite evening at Maritana Grille, or take in the stunning sunset views with coastal cuisine and cool cocktails at Rowe Bar.

We went back to the front desk to get our room at 4:40 and the guy said they were running behind and didn’t seem to care. I asked why we were told the maid was finishing up the room almost 2 hrs ago and he didn’t seem to care. I then asked to speak with the manager and of course he was the manager. Didn’t care about our experience one bit. The lady working at the desk was also dealing with an upset client who had room issues and bad experience as well. Not the experience we had imagine in booking a room. Read less

We recently stayed at "The Don" for a romantic weekend. The hotel is historic with newly renovated guest rooms. Guest rooms are small and bathrooms are even smaller. We arrived early afternoon at the pool and beach area on a Saturday and they were completely out of pool towels and none of the staff seemed to care or have a plan on when they would be available. I'm not sure how this was allowed to happen when the hotel knows exactly how many guests would be staying and every guest wore a wrist band to prevent "outsiders". There were dirty towels all over the beach and pool area that could have been picked up and laundered instead of many guests having to do without. We finally got towels after about 3.5 hours. Maybe the 4 guys "working" at the towel desk should have walked around and picked the ones up that were unused and started a load of laundry. We also only had two bath towels in our room. For the price you pay and the "resort fee" the hotel should do more and fix this issue. By simply limiting the number of towels guests can take (some people had 4) everyone could have had a towel. We also never say anyone wiping down pool chairs or tables and it's a pandemic in case anyone forgot. Read less

The service was spectacular and the food at all of the restaurants was very impressive. It was touch on the expensive side given the fact that the room did not have a balcony or a view of the ocean. I would define come back.

Newly renovated. Great location. Fantastic accommodations. Decent food. Slightly high prices. Stores were closed by 5pm. Lobby Bar was significantly understaffed thus service was very slow. Beautiful pool area.

A must do that we finally got to. Be prepared for tight quarters, especially in the bathroom. Getting ramped back up from COVID with beach and pool food service, but hopefully will staff back up soon. All else was top notch experience.
