The Oberoi Beach Resort Al Zorah

Ajman, Dubai Beaches and beyond

The hotel

Something of a statement, The Oberoi Beach Resort, Al Zorah is both a chic holiday hideaway, and a sculptural landmark worthy of a Turner prize. Reclining along a postcard-perfect sweep of white sand in Al Zorah (a one million square metre patch of protected forest in Ajman), this retreat is as contemporary as they come, with its crisp wooden pool deck, geometric take on Middle Eastern fretwork, and oversized walls of windows taking in sumptuous sea views. It’s not just contemporary in style though, with its luxury villas featuring private pools and space to socialise, its Oberoi Spa rivalling any urban health retreat, the straight lines of its 85 metre pool designed to be seductively sleek, and its dining venues ticking off all those modern favourites, like tapas, bento boxes, sushi, cocktails, responsibly sourced seafood, and gourmet gastronomy.

Its crazy how adapting to live with the Corona pandemic changes your whole experience. We went for this staycation as soon as the authorities lifted the set 4 months lockdown. Accordingly and following the authority regulations, the hotel was operational at 30% capacity only which was not a bad thing to avoid over crowding. However unfortunately, kids club was closed which was frustrating for the kids who had no dedicated place to play other than staying with us adults all the time. No buffets were served and for us, this takes out a lot of our hotel staycation pleasure. Not sure if that's due to Corona or the hotel itself doesn't have buffet themed meals. I recall one of the managers told me we don't serve buffets anyways ! Even breakfast was served on a la carte basis where you sit down, select your food from the menu and they serve it on your table. For us, a breakfast buffet is an essential part of our hotel staycations which was not available there. Spa, Gym, etc... all were closed too. We selected a ground floor room which was spacious and modernly furnished with a nice big garden facing the pool. The main pool is interesting as its around 3 m width and more than 100 m length which makes it unique, and its temperature controlled. We took a walk on the beach which was very nice but didn't sit there as it was so empty with everyone sitting by the pool only. Few restaurants were there which serve a la carte options only but all seemed to be a bit overpriced, so we went out to look for a buffet somewhere else. Read less

Every element of the Oberoi has been designed to perfection! Being in Dubai & surrounded with luxury make me think that nothing will impress me anymore! Well the Oberoi Ajman is the destination of "Awe Experiences" to the smallest detail. From the minute we drove through the alley of the hotel to entering my room with the private garden was a moment of pure pleasure. My room was my haven of tranquility & refinement. A little gem with my private garden. The design of the hotel is perfect, the architecture is phenomenal and every detail is an awakening to the senses. The colors, the water surrounding the property and the beautiful gardens uplift the spirit and create an invigorating feeling. The service was royal, every staff member greeted us with a big smile and thoughtful words, the food is beyond succulent and the presentation feeds the eyes before the mouth. The restaurants were pure pleasure and the library was more than the cherry on top of the cake, what a beautiful place to relax, read or simply indulge the soul. And the pool of 100 m is unique! We also got the chance to visit the villas and that was an experience of its own. This is a world class property that made my heart heavy when I was checking out...to be continued soon! Read less

However, the Oberoi managed to do that - in a very positive way. The rooms are very spacious and being a fan of understated luxury, the interior design was very appealing to my eye. Service was consistently great. The staff are very kind and attentive. The pool was fantastic and a great place to relax. I love that this hotel is not playing loud music at the pool/beach - it is truly a calm place to relax, a welcome change from busy Dubai. I enjoyed the beach as well - the service is just as quick and efficient as at the pool. I am already looking forward to my next visit. Read less

This is a stunning hotel with very modern design and beautiful gardens. The beach is fantastic so is the 100m long swimming pool. The fitness is very nice and the breakfast is excellent. The Nespresso machine in the room comes as another plus.

Very high, furnished in minimalistic yet elegant and practical way. Housekeeping was amazing - they were thinking for us about our needs, very clever in organizing our space. I chose this hotel for its swimming pool - it's 85m long, warmed up, designed in such way that it feels private for everyone around. Service is just amazing - at the beach or pool - bringing you towels and water before you even ask for it. In the restaurants there's always somebody around to make sure you're served within minutes or even seconds! There's only one but - food in the restaurants is great but very pricy, even for a 5* hotel. Read less
