Tidewater Beach Resort

Panama City, Florida

The hotel

If you’re heading for Florida’s fabulous Panhandle, it’s probably for the beaches — so a spot right on the sands of Panama City Beach is pretty hard to rival. Along one of the biggest private beaches (said to cover more than two football fields of sand), this high-rise shoots up from the shoreline to give you the best in beachfront apartment living. Each of the private condos inside is unique, but they all share a collection of handy holiday extras — including two beachfront lagoon pools, an indoor pool, a fitness centre, a games room, and a handful of hot tubs. There’s space in your condo to cook, dine, and lounge about, but you’re also a stroll from Pier Park’s shops and restaurants if you fancy forgoing the washing up and dining out.

There is a Starbucks downstairs that was convenient. The tides small resturant had fantastic pancakes and a great breakfast sandwhich.. and they had wonderful chicken tenders as well. One of the best things is that the pools are on the sides on the buildings making your oceanfront view even better!! We traveled in October and it was pretty crowded.. some days 3 rows deep on chairs... I can't imagine the crowds in the summertime. The beach service people were different than anywhere where else we have ever stayed. You have to stand in line to get chair assignments each day (unless you purchase extra sets for the week) the line could get pretty long. And people are allowed to set up right in front of your assigned set. That was frustrating to have to walk around so many people to get the the water.. My family enjoyed the weight room as well. They provided cleaning wipes to wipe equipment down. There was a great pizza place across the street. We had a 3 bedroom condo that was spacious and clean. Plenty of space for 8 adults. Sunsets this time of year were amazing! Overall this complex is good... its a busy place though. Read less

We stayed in room 1805. Chose this one because of the amount of beds it has. One king, two fulls and one sleeper. Most have bunk beds and that just doesn’t work for my family. The room was dirty upon arrival. We normally wipe things down but this was just awful. There was sand everywhere. The most troubling thing was that the frame on the main door was broken, barely holding on by one screw. All of the furniture is outdated, torn and old. The beds were extremely uncomfortable and the pillows might as well have not even been there. I believe the mattresses were some old spring type with no cushion at all. The bed frames were on wheels and they moved every time you flipped. Curtain rods were broken in the bathrooms, the showers were dirty. It’s overall very dirty, old and uncomfortable. The property itself was ok, staff was helpful and the view was nice. We were there in Labor Day weekend and elevator wait times were ridiculous. On check out, we waited nearly 2 hours for an elevator. Also, they don’t enforce social distancing or mask wearing. That was a bit worrisome when walking around the property. They definitely need to have staff enforcing, at minimum, mask wearing. If you choose this property I would recommended you take a close look at the pictures of the condo and try to get something on the 1st or second floor so you don’t have to wait on the elevators. We stayed in room 2207 and this room is awesome! It has been updated with everything you will need and is beautifully decorated. This unit is a jewel and we highly recommend it. Read less

Lady on 2nd floor checkin at buggy’s ask for my driver’s license for bringing the buggy back. WHAT. Very dissatisfied disappointed will stay elsewhere next time. But I will say someone was throwing water down from 22 floor while we were at pool. Went and got security they were excellent on top of problem right away. Need to fire rest of staff or give them some training on hospitality and cleaning procedures especially when COVID 19 is worst there than anywhere. Ridiculous Read less

Stayed during Labor Day weekend. The view was spectacular at sunset. Unit was close to elevator and stairs. Had everything needed for a 5 night stay. Clean at check in. Would definitely stay in this unit again.
