The hotel

If you’re going to laze on any beach in St Kitts, Frigate Bay’s Caribbean-washed shore is the one to pick – and Timothy Beach Resort is the only hotel to grace its golden sands. It’s not just the only hotel on South Frigate Bay Beach, it’s also plumped for the best spot on those sands, right by a natural snorkelling reef, rich in fishes, and a stroll from the Atlantic beach. Making the most of its beachside setting, most rooms have a sea view (although the lawn-facing rooms often get exciting views, thanks to visiting vervet monkeys). Life here is about simple relaxation, mainly played out on the sands or at the oceanfront pool – except on Sunday nights, when the resort buzzes with a Caribbean buffet at Sunset Café, and reggae bands playing by the water’s edge at Dock Bar.

Where is it

Right along the golden sands of popular South Frigate Bay Beach, this hotel’s right by the water sports centre, beside the natural fish-rich reef, and a walk from beach bars, seaside restaurants, and the nearest mini-market. The area also offers an 18-hole golf course, PADI-certified scuba diving lessons, and island tours including rainforest and volcano treks. Transfer time from airport: 10 minutes.

Studio Rooms are 370 sq ft, and have Caribbean Sea and salt pond views, a living/dining area, a full kitchen with stove top, full-size fridge, microwave, and toaster, and a balcony or patio. Rollaway bed available*. Each has 1 queen-size bed, sleeping maximum 2 adults or 1 adult and 1 child (age 12 or under).

Large Studio Rooms are 750 sq ft, are on the ground floor just steps from the beach, and have partial ocean views, a living/dining area, a full kitchen with stove/oven, full-size fridge, microwave, and toaster, and a covered ocean-view patio. Rollaway bed available*. Each has 1 king-size or 2 twin beds, and a queen-size sofa bed, sleeping maximum 4 adults or 2 adults and 2 children.

One Bedroom Suites are 800 sq ft, and have ocean views, a living/dining room, a 40ˈˈ flatscreen HDTV, a walk-in Kittitian Rainforest Shower, a new kitchen with stove top, full-size fridge, microwave, and toaster, and a balcony (100 sq ft). Each has 1 king-size or 2 twin beds, and a queen-size sofa bed, sleeping maximum 4 adults or 2 adults and 2 children.

Two Bedroom Suites are 1,100 sq ft, are close to the beach, and have Caribbean and salt pond views, a living/dining area, a full kitchen with stove top, full-size fridge, microwave, and toaster, 2 bedrooms (1 with ocean view and balcony or patio, and 1 with lawn view and mini-balcony or patio), and a large covered ocean-view balcony or patio. Each has 1 king-size and 2 twin beds, and a queen-size sofa bed, sleeping maximum 6 adults or 2 adults and 4 children.

Two Bedroom Townhouses are 1,500 sq ft, are the closest to the Caribbean beach, and have ocean and lawn views, a living/dining area, a full kitchen with stove/oven, full-size fridge, microwave, and toaster, 2 bedrooms (1 with ocean view and sundeck balcony, and 1 with lawn view and mini-balcony), and a large covered ocean-view patio. Each has 1 king-size and 4 twin beds, and a sofa bed, sleeping maximum 6 adults or 2 adults and 4 children.

Sunset Café Restaurant (seafood menu, open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with Sunday Caribbean Buffet). 2 bars, including Dock Bar (open daily, with Sunday reggae nights).

Sunday Caribbean buffet and reggae night.

Oceanfront swimming pool (freshwater). Snorkelling.

My first time staying at this resort, I usually stay at the Royal St Kitts Hotel but it was fully booked, even though I always have doubts about this resort I gave it a try,I stayed in three bedroom suites very big and spacious to accommodate you and family,rooms are very outdated and aged, does not smell clean and refreshing, linens very dinged.Just not standard for me, my kids enjoyed the space with two beds per rooms that was awesome and each bedroom had its own bathroom, walking distance to the beach and restaurants think this was the only great thing about staying here, the nightmare! Being in this industry for over 20yrs I've never experienced anything like this!So I had a late night out and slept in late, woke up made breakfast and had to rush to check out,got to the front desk anget looked very angry because I was 15mins late, no smile, no thank you, no good bye or how was your stay. Hours after a friend called my phone stating that the house keeper called their phone very angry telling him that I stayed at the hotel and I did not wash the dishes or take out the garbage with me, I did not pay $700 per night to do the housekeeper service,never in my life at any hotel I'm told to wash dishes or take out garbage, the rooms were left spotless just the dishes from late breakfast and garbage in the bin. Housekeeper need training on guests privacy,also the agent at the front.Staff should remain professional at all time. Read less

A conveniently located hotel on St Kitts, on the beach! Great beach bar and access to popular restaurants and bars! Rooms are great, although air con was faulty. Extra for sea view rooms. Food is quite expensive and not exceptional but staff are friendly. Nice touch to a free cocktail on arrival! Great sunsets! Would recommend!

You can walk to a number of bar and grills located along the beach or walk 10 minutes to a grocery store and other restaurants. The taxi are almost always in the front of the hotel. You can walk to a number of bar and grills located along the beach or walk 10 minutes to a grocery store and other restaurants. The taxi are almost always in the front of the hotel. Had a full kitchenette which was recently updated. Large bedroom, walk in shower. Front desk staff very friendly and helpful. Restaurant and Happy Hour Bar on site. Private beach access as well. Great area for all sorts of water sports!

wonderful restaurants up & down beach--the staff is wonderful--the dolphin experience was great not far away! The town has great history and the only train left in the caribbean goes almost all around island--beautiful scenery!!!!!!!!!!!!! no option for our date of travel which was Feb 2019
