I would like to flag that this hotel was flexible enough to grant us a full refund in the covid 19 situation, which is a smart approach to secure business for the future through customer satisfaction. We really appreciate this generosity and will make sure to stay there when we can take our trip. Thank you!

Let me start off by saying, this is one of the most beautiful hotels and all of South Florida. In the heart of Fort Lauderdale, unforgettable views from eye to eye. I live about 20 minutes away from this hotel, and I’ll tell you it feels amazing to get away here every single time I come. This time my experience was a little bit different, it was my girlfriend’s birthday, And I wanted to have a special experience. If it wasn’t for Matthew Gomberg, He literally defines his job title, director of style.... He created such a unforgettable experience for both my girlfriend, her friends, my friends, & muself. Hats off to Matthew Gomberg, I really owe it to you. Thank W Fort Lauderdale, And thank you Matthew Gomberg. You are a true asset to the Marriot family and ownership team. Till next time, Cheers Jason Read less

Robert and the front desk staff were so accommodating during these trying times. We decided to extend our stay and he was so helpful in getting us the room that we wanted and assisted us with the appropriate late check out for our flights! The hotel was fully compliant with all COVID requirements and made us feel safe for our get away from quarantine. I highly recommend the Cool Suite as a good option for 2-4 people. It was really nice to have our own kitchen area and separate bedrooms. Again Robert was so helpful, friendly, and really made us feel like the platinum Bonvoy members that we are! Read less

Hands down, one of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had. Waited in line to check in for at least 30 minutes. When we were finally able to get into our room, there was a huge piece of used dental floss right in the entry way of the room. A few minutes later, another couple that checked in at roughly the same time as us walked into our room; the front desk staff had double booked our room. It took another 45 minutes to get that straightened out and get new room keys. There was a big chunk of hair in the shower. It took over 2 hours to get a burger at the pool. After all these things happened, we decided to talk to the manager to see if we could check out a day early, as we didn't feel the hotel's cleanliness/service warranted the high price of a so-called 5 star hotel. The hotel manager told us we could check out without a penalty and they would refund the 2nd night that we wouldn't be staying there. The employee at the front desk verified this information when we asked him. It's been over 3 weeks since our stay, and our credit card still hasn't been refunded for the second night. Another manager at the hotel emailed me and said they wouldn't be providing a refund, despite what an employee and manager told us while we were there. When I told him that we'd been told otherwise at the hotel, he stopped responding to my emails. So we were lied to by hotel staff, and forced to pay for a night we didn't stay at this "5 star" hotel, complete with trash and hair in the room. We will never stay at a W hotel again. Read less

We booked 2 nights at this “upscale” beach resort. Unfortunately, Cleanliness isn’t a priority evening during COVID. Checked into our room to find a nasty speaker/clock (thick puke-like substance) and 2 pills left on the floor near balcony door - obviously the room wasn’t meticulously cleaned. Glass windows near balcony also filthy- bought cleaning solution to clean ourselves. Service was also subpar. Beach towels not available in the AM, very limited seating area in pool with limited service. I just don’t believe this place should be open for business at this time. 4.5 star hotel should be a 2.5-3.0 star. We only stayed the first evening & checked out to go elsewhere it was that disgusting. Unfortunately, the front desk still charged us the 2nd night which is expected from the poor customer service provided during the visit. Nicer options on the beach. The Seminole hard rock (where we stayed first 2 nights & going back to) far superior to this property. Do not recommend. Read less
