Even during COVID I ventured to Mexico. This was my last stop before returning home. This property is beautiful and well maintained. I felt completely safe with all the sanitizing and relentless cleaning. We only paid for breakfast and not the all inclusive because I like to try places in town. The breakfast was good. They make fresh squeezed juices and you can choose your entree. My poached eggs were overdone but it didn’t matter because the views were amazing. The shower has great pressure and a steamer. The room AC was good. I do recommend this hotel because of the property and rooms. Read less

I have very mixed emotions on writing this review and perhaps that is why I took so long in drafting same. On some days this hotel was exceptional, on others not so much. At the end of the day, would I return? The jury is still out. We arrived from another resort in Cancun we had stayed for a few nights prior to departing for Zoetry. I arraigned for a transfer from USA transfers to take us from Secrets the Vine to the dock for the boat to Zoetry. USA transfers was exceptional as always. The driver was prompt, friendly and very personable. The travel time from our hotel to the dock was about 30 minutes. The marina entrance looks a bit seedy from the street but once you walk inside they have a reception area for Zoetry guests with seating and a bar nearby. Our catamaran was waiting for us and we were ushered from the reception to the dock for boarding. The mates handled all our luggage. The ride over was a bit choppy but enjoyable. It is a nice perk and allows you to bypass the congestion of the ferry. We were fortunate as the guests arriving after us were forced to take the ferry as conditions were deemed to rough. The boat docks at a private dock right across from the hotel and we were met at the dock by staff you too our luggage and escorted us to reception for check in. The check in process occurs on a coach in the open air lobby. The concierge who checked us in spent a good deal of time going over the hotel and its amenities. A cool drink and towel were offered to us during the check in process. This is also an opportunity to entice you into a time share presentation. We bit but a polite no will suffice. More on that later. The hotel is small but lovely. The open air lobby is covered and cool. Off the lobby is a small gift shop. There is also a small lobby bar with an amazing bartender. Two restaurants and a small gym round out the facility. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed and by the second day the staff knows your name. The hotel beach is small and a bit difficult to access. The waters; however, are calm and contain very little seaweed. There is not much room to lay out on the beach and there are no beach cabanas. The hotel also offers thee pools. The pools are not connected but are right next to each other. The pool area like the resort is rather compact but there are a few day beds and umbrellas interspersed throughout the area. The size of the resort is its great strength as well as its biggest weakness as there is no quiet place to retreat to if you get unsavory people, Whether you like it or not you are going to get to know your neighbors at the pool or beach. This was a plus as we made some terrific friends we still stay in touch with and shared our meals with. This was a minus when a large group showed up on our third day with the intention of "taking over the resort". This group, which looked like they just left the set of Swamp People, was under the misapprehension that being a time share owner meant they owned the hotel. They literally turned the pool into spring break circa 1985. The last straw was when a father encouraged his very drunk daughter to perform a pole dance on the edge of the pool to the music provided by him on his boom box. At this point I demanded to see the manager. The hotel bills itself as a wellness and relaxation resort and you allow it to be turned into raunchy pool party? If I wanted that I could have stayed at one of the spring break joints in Cancun. Initially the manager was reluctant to act but after other guests joined me in expressing our displeasure, the manager finally intervened, had them cut off from alcohol and had the music turned off. Needless to say this caused a row with the Swamp People group but as unhappy as they were they complied with the request. and sort of a cold war truce set in between them and the other guests for the remainder of the vacation. The problem was building all day and its unfortunate it had to come to a head in the manner in which it did but management should have acted much sooner to prevent the problem. Again if you are a wellness and relaxation resort, this sort of behavior should be nipped in the bud and not forced upon the guests to demand action be taken. Food is offered in two venues. Villa Rolandi serves breakfast lunch and dinner and is billed as the premier restaurant on the island. It is open to the public but rarely crowded. Everything with the exception of live lobster is included with your stay and the food is far superior to most all inclusive venues. Perhaps that is because this was restaurant before it became a resort and it maintains high standards. They bake their own breads on the premises and it comes from the oven hot and fresh. For breakfast try the Chilaquilies which are amazing. French press coffee is also available and a great way to start the day. For lunch the pizza is a solid choice and is baked in a Neopolitan style pizza oven. Very fresh and delicious. You can also order lunch poolside with the usual Mexican specialties which are all exceelent. Dinners at Villa Rolandi are exceptional. The included wine list is good, other selections are available for a fee and service is impeccable. The view from the restaurant is spectacular looking out over the channel between the island and the mainland. The emphasis is on Italian with fresh pasta and seafood the specialty of the house. One of the friends we met from England is a chef with his own restaurant outside London and he thought the meals to be very good. The only drawback was variety. Unlike other all inclusive, you do not have a choice of specialty venues so you might get bored with the menu over a long stay. The other on site dining venue is a specialty restaurant serving only a tasting menu. This was hit or miss. We dined here twice with the first night being spectacular. Everything was prepared exquisitely with care and attention to detail. Our return visit with our friend the chef was not a success. Service this evening was off as some of our party received their dishes while other waited. Additionally I had to send two of my courses back as my pork was uncooked and my tuna overcooked. I am sure this was just an off night and hope the experience for other guests will be similar to our first night there. There was a great guitar soloist who performed during dinner who was amazing. As a courtesy to our concierge, we embarked on the sales presentation. It worked out as the morning we did the presentation, it rained so we did not miss pool time. The presentation is for a vacation club where you purchase weeks at a discounted rate of travel. There is still an all inclusive fee that gets tacked om the your stay. They are selling you on being part of a exclusive and privileged club. However, unlike other clubs, you don't get to choose who else is a member of the club. When I pointed out that patriarch of the Swamp People was also a member of this "exclusive" club, the game was up. They did honor the gifts promised as an incentive to attend. The rooms are fine. They are clean and comfortable but dated. A refresh would be welcome but overall the maid service and turn down service make up for rooms being dated. The hotel offers a small gym, yoga and non motorized water sports. It was too rough during the week we were here to utilize the paddle boards. The hotel offers a bike tour through Christian the entertainment director as well. Christian is a great asset to the establishment. Do take the sunset cruise as we made many friends on the ship and enjoyed a relaxing sail with drinks. You need to reserve this so the earlier the better. i also suggest getting off the resort and touring the island. We along with some other couples we met rented golf carts and set out to explore. It is easy to circumnavigate the island and the carts give you great flexibility. Two stops I highly suggest are at Isla Animals and the Soggy Peso bar. We stopped twice at Isla Animals and played with the dogs. We also learned what food they feed the residents with and were able to stop at the supermarket to purchase food as a donation. Isla does a great job in rescuing stray animals and finding them homes both on the island and the in US. They rely on donations so if you are able please help. They also need volunteers toe accompany the animals to the airport of the future home in the States. They make all the arraignments and there is no cost to you. The Soggy Peso is a great place to stop for a margarita or beer after a day of touring the island. The place is fun with a Key West vibe. The owner is an expat from Florida. Sign your hat and they will hang it on the wall for you as a memento to your visit. Overall we enjoyed ourselves but the group issue and how it was handled did put a damper on the vacation. A wellness and relaxation resort should not allow itself to be over run by an inconsiderate group who think the resort is too quiet for their liking. Management really need to step in earlier and stop the nonsense. Another guest we befriended and who stays there each year said the same thing happened last year. This is why I am unsure about returning. If I wanted spring break Cancun I could have selected many other resorts at a much less cost. They need to train the staff to step in immediately and enforce their own rues rather than having the guests have to band together to take action. This would need to be rectified before we return. Which means no 24 hour room service, no catamaran tours, no meditation, no bike tours, no yoga NOTHING. The only place to get cool is in your room. Also no top shelf liquor unless you pay more for it even though the wen site says all inclusive. I’m sure that possibly with new management and the end of Covid this place could be great. But for now, no. Read less

We booked a 9 night vacation, and initially we thought this was too long as we may be board after 5 nights at the same resort. This stay was so nice, that we could have easily stayed another week and felt right at home. I could not get enough of opening the blackout blinds in the morning to look out at Blue and Turquoise Water with an occasional yacht on the sea! It is stunning and never gets old. In addition, the Wi-Fi is really good!!! We never once lost connection and the in-room TV's will accept an Amazon Fire TV or other HDMI Streaming Device to watch our shows, just like we were home in the evenings! This is a big deal to us. The beach is beautiful, as is the warm water. So nice to be able to snorkel right from the beach and see a variety of fish, Stingrays and Starfish. Just walk out when done, use the shower to rinse, and head back to your room for a shower - no need to book a tour just to snorkel. However, we did book some tours and it was an excellent experience! Since Zoetry has their own dock, no need to catch a taxi to go out for activities. The boats pull right up to the Zoetry dock, just walk across the street! We fully enjoyed the Snorkel tour and the Whale Shark adventure with Manta Rays! The food is excellent here - freshest I have had at ANY resort yet! There was not one piece of wilt on the lettuce of any salad during our entire stay. The grilled octopus can be cut with a fork. I was shocked to see how fresh the salmon was at this resort! Salmon is not found anywhere near here, but it is amazingly fresh! Must be flown in frequently. My wife doesn't even like grilled salmon, but it was so good here, it was a must for her! And don't forget about the Seafood Soup - Amazing!!!! Drinks were very good, if you want to adjust the flavor of any drink, they are happy to help. I like to sip on a shot of tequila at lunch with ice cold beer - they actually started putting my tequila shot in a glass surrounded by ice to keep it cool and they also put extra beer in an ice bucket next to the table - so nice! Some people on here complained about the "dated rooms", we love the authentic look with the brick arch ceiling! This is why we go to Mexico! Beds are comfortable, showers work well and the Internet and TV streaming make all the difference! And what a view when on your laptop, sitting on the couch looking out at the turquoise sea! If you have an issue or request, Ivan is the General Manager and he is outstanding!Professional, helpful, friendly Read less

Malena was so kind and helpful. She did a great job of welcoming us when we arrived and helped us with anything we needed throughout our stay. We are so thankful for all of her help. Our room was on the third floor and had a beautiful brick vaulted ceiling and stained glass. The food was incredible. Jorge did a great job at the restaurant and Juarez took care of us on the beach. We even ordered room service several times and it always came promptly. We did go on a snorkeling trip to the lighthouse and the underwater museum. The lighthouse was incredible and we saw so many fish. Thanks so much to all the staff that made this vacation so relaxing and refreshing! Read less
