Absolutely beautiful architecture and nicely decorated for the holidays. We had a King suite with a street view - very nice. They do need to add some sound dampening materials to the halls. A fellow traveler had a dog which everyone could hear in the hall.

Stayed at this hotel during the holidays. Everything was great but the service from Dina was phenomenal! She’s a true mixologist!!! Dina was friendly and attentive as well. Will certainly be visiting again when we are in the area!

Really well done by hotel staff - tasteful entertainment, not overly crowded or loud. Would highly recommend - will be back next year. Hotel located in safe area, super clean with a great staff. Do yourself a favor and give this place a shot - attend a Red WIngs, Tigers or Lions game - all really short walks. Also, great bed and room had cool view. Read less

I stayed for a few days to go to Comerica Park, and I have to say: this is nothing like the typical ALoft hotel. The Whitney Building is beautiful: they lobby is in a giant atrium, and it's got a fantastic historic feel to it. The Whitney Building is beautiful: they lobby is in a giant atrium, and it's got a fantastic historic feel to it. The rooms are consistent with other ALoft rooms in design, but with much higher ceilings, and as an elite member, they put me in a corner room, which was ridiculously large and full of windows and great lighting during the day. And forget what you've previously known about downtown Detroit: it's on the rebound. There were some really interesting places nearby to eat and drink, and the hotel literally couldn't be in a better location for exploring downtown (a few blocks from Comerica, Ford Field, Fox Theater, and a little further of a walk to Little Caesars). I absolutely wouldn't hesitate to stay there again -- it was a very good experience. Read less

Q line also very close as are the sports stadiums. Rooms very comfortable, modern, clean and quiet (we had an atrium view) Lobby impressive, complimentary tea and coffee for guests as well as a kettle in the rooms. Only thing which wasn’t excellent-whilst most of the staff were friendly and helpful on check in and the following morning the person behind the desk seemed less than happy to help us and had no knowledge of any opening times of tourist attractions which was a little odd. Took the Fast bus from the airport which worked well although it doesn’t pick up from ground transportation. It collects just outside arrivals at the McNamara terminal. $2 for the hour journey with pick up/drop off right outside the hotel. A good and much cheaper alternative to a taxi. Ate breakfast at Hudson Cafe and the Dime Store-both superb. Pizza at Buddy’s next to the hotel also good, check out the discount vouchers on their website. Read less
