Boston Park Plaza

The hotel

As synonymous with Boston as the eponymous tea party and cream pie, Boston Park Plaza has been a landmark on the city’s hotel circuit since it opened 90 years ago. Reinterpreted for the 21st century traveller with a $100 million mega-makeover, it now adds contemporary décor and mod-cons to its timeless elegance. And you’re in good company, with all bar two US Presidents staying here since it opened. It’s easy to see why, with a top-drawer location near Boston Common. Of course, they wouldn’t all have experienced today’s attractions, which include a mammoth 20,000 SF Health Club, the nightly cocktail hour (well 5 hours) in the Library, and the New England inspired dining of its Off the Common restaurant, with Boston’s signature lobster rolls a menu favourite.

Having stayed here for a week with my family I had no issues other than this evening. I'm writing this from my room as my 24 year old son has been refused a beer at the bar, despite showing a full driving licence with a picture and was told he needed to get his passport which we said was in the safe on the 9th floor and he said " well you need to go and get it" This has ruined our last night in Boston which we wanted to spend with a nightcap in our hotel as we took exception to this request. And decided not to spend any more money in this hotel. He was with his mum and dad and the licence has been accepted in every venue in Boston , including Fenway who wanted ID from me and I'm in my 50s! I called guest services and they said a licence should have been fine. The bar managers attitude was cold and unfriendly and he really shouldn't be working in hospitality.in my opinion. I must say that every other member of staff we have met in our week here have been brilliant and are a credit to the hotel. For anyone staying here in the future I recommend finding a local bar on Newbury street rather than the hotel bar. Read less

Its clean is about the only thing I could say. Came here for a conference with a bunch of other coworkers and its amazing how different the same costing and purchased room is. I have no space to sit on the toilet but a coworker has a acceptable sized bathroom. I have no fridge but a coworker has a fridge. For starting at $280 a night, these rooms… Read more

I have no space to sit on the toilet but a coworker has a acceptable sized bathroom. I have no fridge but a coworker has a fridge. For starting at $280 a night, these rooms are unnacceptably small. I understand location is a thing but at least make it a comparable room to subpar hotels. I guess I should be lucky I at least have a tv. Read less

This place is a great place to stay and great location. Nice size rooms for an urban area. Central location for Boston touring, close to Boston library. Staff person Jerry was very helpful. I would definitely recommend Boston Park Plaza to visitors in the area and will stay here again.
