Horrible hotel horrible staff. Read less

When I arrived after 12 hours of travel at 7:30AM, I was told rudely that my reservation was changed, that I wasn't supposed to check in until that night, that check-in time is really at 4:00PM, and that really there wouldn't be anything available until noon at the earliest. The "changed" was by the front desk when they sold my room off to someone else without my knowledge. No compensation for the hotel involuntarily changing my reservation that had a confirmation and a credit card on file. Just told to wait in the lobby for four and a half hours. I don't write one-star reviews, but this place deserves it. Bad reservation policy made worse by bad customer service. Read less

The hotel turns off the AC in October so you have to sweat it out. They tell you to turn off your room's system and open the windows that open 1 inch. They will offer box fans if you are too hot - which we were. Three nights of sweats and you're sweating minutes after you get out of the shower. And a bonus if you're into it, this hotel is not… Read more

They will offer box fans if you are too hot - which we were. Three nights of sweats and you're sweating minutes after you get out of the shower. And a bonus if you're into it, this hotel is not ready for modern times. If you want to stay at a place where you smell marijuana from the moment you leave your room to the lobby, this is the place. With the AC turned off and them telling you to turn off your system, there is not air circulation. Cars and ATVs race up Jefferson Street all hours of the night. The noise is loud and obnoxious from the highest of floors. Because of COVID, they don't clean your rooms and you have to ask for fresh towels if staying less than 7 nights. Be prepared to wait as they don't have towels at the front and it takes hours to get them. Read less

The good: good location, size of room and microwave in room. Also received lovely service from a gentleman at the host stand of the restaurants first thing on a Saturday morning. The bad: Unfriendly and unhelpful check in. At a hotel where the elevators are not visible when standing at the front desk it is helpful and customary to tell the guest where to go to access them. No Ambassador recognition. The ugly: Requested one hour late check out which was granted. Activated both door locks due to traveling alone. While in bathtub a maintenance staff member knocked then unlocked the door and entered while I was scrabbling to wrap a towel around myself. He then proceeded to scold me for not doing enough with the front desk regarding my late check out. I was dripping wet and in a towel and feeling very vulnerable so it was appalling to have this staff member not only not apologize but then try to blame it on me. Asked the Ambassador team to help raise the issue with management. Management got in touch to apologize and indicate service recovery then ignored me repeatedly when it came to actually coming through on service recovery. Eventually had to ask the Ambassador service again to facilitate contact. 20,000 points were put in my account with no further word. Can't recommend due to appalling service, a very unpleasant privacy intrusion and management ignoring me when it came to doing the right thing. If you're Bonvoy elite, there's no point coming here either. Read less

We stayed here for a wedding we were attending in Detroit. We made our reservations through a block of rooms that were given a discounted price for the event. When I tried to make a reservation for Friday at the same price I was told I couldn’t do that. I called the bride and she talked with her contact at Marriott and he took down my name and told her we could get the room on Friday for the same price as the block price. When i called back a few days later I was told that I couldn’t get the block price, they said they didn’t see my name anywhere don’t hav to pay $50 more for Friday than I was paying for Saturday. Needless to say we decided not to stay two nights. Once the day arrived I checked in with the Bonvoy App and it said they would text me when our room was ready. We never received a text and when we got to the hotel we checked in at the desk and the had s room ready. It would have been nice to know our room was ready before 4:00 since the wedding was at 5:00 The next morning I went to take a shower and there was no shampoo but there was two conditioner bottles. I tried to wash my hair with the hand soap, that didn’t go well. Once I was done with my shower I realized there was no blow dry in the room. I called my daughter who was staying just down the hall and she didn’t have a blow dryer either! When did you stop putting blow dryers in the rooms. If you did this because of COVID you should state that when reservations are being made. We had a nice time at the wedding but our stay at this Marriott was disappointing. Read less
