I visited Hilton downtown hotel which has a v good location, along with my husband and my infant.I had high expectations of this hotel but so shocked during my stay due to below instances: 1. The room was okay but carpet seemed so dirty that I wouldn't pick anything if falls, the trash was not fully hair bundle was left.Even the table wasn't cleaned after previous guest left.Bathroom basin tap was leaking and basin top was always full with water even used to flood the floor.Bathroom trash wasn't covered , so it used to smell when we threw dirty diapers. 2. There was no drinking water, even when after arriving I called front desk to give water as I was very thirsty being nursing mom and room had no water( my husband left for work)they mentioned no room service and to come and collect.I managed to down down with my very little baby,in front desk they mentioned free water is for gold and other customers , I cannot get.I can buy and handed over a small bottle seeing my condition! I was stunned, didn't bring my purse to purchase, so went back with crying baby till my husband came in evening with water.Horrible experience and I will never forget this in all my life 3.Prior to visit we called hotel and mentioned we have baby and we will need cribs, they said they provide. When I requested for crib after reaching, they mentioned they are short of cribs. In evening again we requested, then they sent one which was broken.Again we called and requested, guess what , the other one they sent also turned to be broken!Thank God we didn't keep baby before. Finally I asked them to send after opening them fully. One person delivered soon but was rude. 4. There was of course no breakfast, if you are thinking you will get one after reading hotel details online, don't get fooled like us.These are absolutely for gold n diamond customers.Facing this we didn't even try the swimming pool, although was very excited for this before. 5. Bed was very comfortable, but bed cover was torn , for two different days and I had my eyes open seeing this. Please change your bed covers , i think they are old enough. 6. Lift was shaking and I was scared when I entered first time. 7. Housekeeping also didn't turn up one day during stay and we requested front desk to keep toiletries and clean room, they kept stuffs but did not clean room. 8.In the entire hotel, had only one, single microwave, we had to wait in queue for getting hot water for my baby! 9. Fridge was tiny, old and partially functional with door that didn't close properly due to which food we got was spoiled. Finally, we checked and shifted to another hotel happily, as all good hotels were full due to upcoming concert we moved to 2star hotel which had much more facilities than this, with huge breakfast, unlimited coffee, good swimming pool and most importantly very humble behavior of all stuffs. I would suggest management to make the hotel baby friendly, change old things and pay attention to ALL customers as everyone is paying money!I wouldn't ever come to this hotel or suggest any. Finally, lounge was nice, ball room was very nice but basic things needs to be covered.Attached few pics. Read less

This hotel is in a perfect location for family sightseeing in Chicago with the museums to the south and the shopping, Navy Pier and Millennial Park to the north. Our group of three generations, including two teenagers, had three rooms in the same wing so we could access each other easily. Self parking, a large pool and fitness center, a casual restaurant and two bars make this hotel a comfortable "home" after being out all day. Although not cheap, I felt it was worth the expense for the security and spaciousness of the rooms and public areas. Our only complaint was that there weren't enough food choices available in the hotel and bars after the dinner hour, and one morning, when trying to eat a late breakfast, the casual food area was out of stock. Otherwise, we really enjoyed our stay in the Chicago Hilton on Michigan Avenue. Read less

5* rating for staff. Julius at the front desk was very kind and helpful to us. All of the staff we encountered were great. Bellman on 8th street entrance was always helpful. 3* rating for the property. Room was a little dusty; shower stall had mildew; bathroom linens were rather threadbare. We did not dine here except for the quick cafe in the lobby area for snacks. This hotel has everything it needs to recover from Covid downtime. You can clean the room, and buy new linens, however you cannot always get the right kind of staffing. I am hopeful this HIlton property will continue to rebound as travel resumes in full. Read less

I booked a room for a work conference, set to stay July 14th. I found out I could not go, and canceled July 8th. Well ahead of their 48 hour cancelation policy. I saw a "pending" charge on my credit card, but I know sometimes hotels will hold the incidental charge until it drops off. Well, today when I looked, the "pending" charge had indeed gone… Read more

I had an issue at this hotel after the first night's stay and an agent named Julius Doxy went above and beyond in fixing my issue making sure that our stay was perfect. The entire stay was great and I will definitely be back again.
