Hotel Kabuki

Japan Town, San Francisco

The hotel

This hip boutique hotel marries East with West – and, somewhat handily, is in the middle of Japantown. As you walk in, you'll see the Japanese-inspired décor and funky artwork. Step outside and there’s a beautiful Japanese courtyard garden with koi pond. There’s a cool lobby bar to hang out in too. Enjoy an exotic cocktail and grab a book or board game from the library – they have free WiFi too if you need to catch up with things back home.

Location perfect for our concert at the Fillmore. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Beds were comfortable and upgrade to view room was much appreciated. This will be our go to hotel for any future events in that area.

Super cool hotel with a welcoming and functional lobby, excellent bar, and top of the line gym. Our room was well designed and comfortable - but we were spending as much time out of our room as possible!

We stayed at Hotel Kabuki late Dec 2021 for 2 nights at the King Suite. The hotel is in a great location; we did not need a car to try out various neighboring restaurants! Our suite included a spacious walk-in closet, comfortable sofa, and a HUGE nice TV in the living room area. (Bedroom TV also nice, but 'regular sized). Every hotel staff we encountered was courteous and helpful. We enjoyed the warm-urban lobby designs, and are now looking for the desk chair in our Suite to purchase! You really can not beat the location of Hotel Kabuki. The environment inside the hotel is considerate in terms of small details. For example, our suite had an umbrella and ear plugs provided. Small items like that are small but very appreciated. Reminds me a little bit of Park Hyatts in Asia. This 4 star review needs to include a mention of the A/C-heating system in our King Suite. There were 2 climate controls, one for bedroom and one for the living room. With the bedroom control, the air return still blows cold air even when turned off. We usually do not use heater or AC when sleeping due to the dry humidity. The constant air, even with heater off, made our nights eventful trying to get the ideal temp. Lastly, the basement gym was nicely equipped with everything you can think of, one of the better hotel gyms. Read less
