The good: (most) of the staff are incredibly kind.  +10000 points to the wait staff for their kind heartedness and attention to detail. On the first night I was there, they had live music in the evening so I decided to sit in the lobby and enjoy some food while listening to the music. My waitress was AMAZING. She brought me a 2nd drink when I didn't ask as a “just in case”. Highly attentive and always made sure I was doing okay and would check in just enough.  The following morning, it was raining so I decided to stay in to grab some breakfast in the hotel and stare at the rain outside. The lady in the morning was SO welcoming and phenomenal. She made sure to check on me and made sure I felt warm and welcome. The gentleman who checked me out of the hotel was super kind and funny. He was very helpful as well and checking out was a breeze. The hotel itself is decorated with a lot of music history. Super cool decor, boutique sort of feel.  Otherwise, the hotel is at a very convenient location on Sunset and it’s walking distance to Sunset plaza. Super convenient if you want to roam around the area and check out some nice homes in Beverly Hills (plus, just several minutes away from the Oppenheim Group. Selling Sunset, anybody?). The bed is also very comfortable!  The reason for the 3 bubble rating: Preferential treatment - while the evening check in receptionist was nice, I didn’t realize she did literally the bare minimum with me until I went back. My check in process took maybe 5 minutes max. She kept her explanations short and I had to ask all of the questions. After checking into my room, I went back to ask a question to the front desk before I sat down for dinner and I saw a family in front of me checking out. This lady – not only did she come out of the booth to talk to the family there but she explained everything in full detail to the woman. She told her the play by play. She spent actual time with her to explain everything. It would have been nice to get all the same information upon check in. I understand I may look young or may not look “American” based on the way I look, but that's not a reason to give me literally bare bones effort. The rooms are more outdated and older than what the pictures or the reviews show. While the bed is comfortable and the room is generally clean, I found faint yellow stains on one of the towels and faint gray stains on the edge of bed. No thank you. And the in-unit air conditioner wasn’t great - it’s a very outdated room with minor updates.  The hallway walls are incredibly thin. I heard guitar playing late at night, kids running through the walls, people talking in their rooms and people talking outside while they were walking by - I also could hear footsteps and the music playing above. Very thin walls .  The knock off bubbles wouldn't be the reason for me not to consider staying here again. Overall, I’d recommend it but would just manage your expectations. After staying here I totally understand why other reviewers mentioned that it’s perfect for someone in their 20s/30s - I’ve found guests err on the younger side and definitely have a more hip feel to the uptel. I frankly stayed here after researching several hotels in the area as it was on a lower price scale yet still safe/clean and had decent reviews but totally think that some of the reviews overvalue the true estimate of the hotel, especially given the significant amount of fees they had onto your daily room rate. From the moment we arrived at Hotel Ziggy, we knew we were in for an amazing Los Angeles trip. Little did I know it would exceed all expectations. The best part of our trip happened right at check-in, setting the stage for an incredible experience. NBA legends Stephen Jackson and Matt Barnes, who were at the hotel filming for their podcast and promoting their new Mezcal brand, kindly invited us over. They offered us a shot of their mezcal, shared laughs, and chatted with us. It was one of the coolest moments of my life. Besides this amazing experience, the hotel itself was outstanding. The staff was attentive, the rooms were spotless, and the location was perfect. Hotel Ziggy is now more than a hotel to me; it's a place of unforgettable moments, top-notch hospitality, and the true LA vibe. It will always be my favorite hotel in Los Angeles, and I can't wait to go back. If you want an extraordinary LA experience, Hotel Ziggy is the place to go. I'll never forget this trip and I'm already excited for my next visit. Thank you, Hotel Ziggy, for making this trip the best one yet! Read less

Griffith Observatory, Santa Monica Pier, Beverly Hills, etc. The hotel has a music/bohemian vibe and welcomes everyone. The service there was excellent (like snap! Whatever you need, towels, free coffee in the AM and it’s there). We arrived as weary travelers and were restored at their bar with the free margaritas between 3 &4 pm by Miss Jackson and Cara behind the bar (who throughout our stay remembered our names and treated us wonderfully). I highly recommend Hotel Ziggy if you want a casual, friendly, clean hotel with a rocking pool and great free-music venues at night. We will definitely stay here again. <3 Read less

My only regret is that I didn't book two nights. This was an amazing experience from start to finish. We had a walk up pool room and it was a great choice, roomy and comfortable. Nice toiletries (but $35 to take it home???) and free margaritas during margarita hour. The valet was spectacular and Alan at the front desk gave exceptional service.… Read more
