The hotel

Both a modern masterpiece and a work of art, the Le Meridien New York Central Park has been styled to capture the glamorous era of 1920s New York. Expect leather Chesterfield sofas to lounge on and gorgeous lucky vintage shop finds, all of which lend character and atmosphere to this already iconic residence. From the luxury of your room – reminiscent of a cabin room on a seafaring liner – you’ll enjoy bird’s-eye views of Central Park as well as the surrounding city. In fact, you’re well placed to explore all the sights, including the world-famous Tiffany & Co, just a stone’s throw away. There are shops, bars and restaurants galore on your doorstep but the hotel’s The Roof is most definitely a place to see and be seen in. As well as boasting more of those gorgeous views we’ve been raving about, it has a very happening vibe plus the most exciting cocktails on the block. On the street level is Kingside Restaurant, another great place to relax, this time over the finest New American cuisine.

A wonderful experience from the start! I arrived early and they stored my luggage while I went sightseeing, the room was exactly as pictured on website, staff was helpful and polite. The hotel is in a perfect location close to Central Park and subway lines and the concierge very knowledgeable. Would definitely return to this hotel!

My husband and I stayed at the Le Meridien for one night, on a Thursday. Overall, we really enjoyed the property. Early check-in was available for us when requested, the employees were friendly and helpful, and the entire hotel is clean and cared for. For the room itself- it is small, but comparable to other NYC hotels, so that wasn't an issue. The furnishings could use some updating, which accounts for my 4 out of 5 stars. Everything was clean, but a little outdated. However, I loved the updated bathroom and porthole window! With a little bit of freshening up of the rooms, the hotel would be absolutely perfect. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance and it is very close to Central Park. It is a very short walk from Times Square, but that was good for us. We didn't want to be right in the heart of that. We also enjoyed Live, the rooftop bar. We were there for about an hour or so that night for a drink. It's really peaceful up there and has great views! It had a fun, upbeat vibe, and we had plenty of space to move and sit outside. I would definitely stay again! Read less

Le Meridien New York Central Park team members' hospitality during our stay was superb! Our trip wasn't a regular vacation. My spouse had open heart surgery at Mount Sinai Hospital. After a few google searches, we ran into this excellent hotel's website and decided to book a suite. It ended up being the best decision we made. From the moment we arrived, we knew it was the right place to be. A smiling Rafael greeted us at the Valet. Mutabi bell staff (I hope I'm spelling his name correctly), with such grace, helped us to bring our luggage up to the room. Both (Rafael & Mutabi) happened to be the same team who helped us during our departure. At the front desk, Melissa was cordial and pleasant and made us feel she cared. She has the perfect attitude to be part of the front office team. The same about Vijay and Brian; they went above and beyond to make our stay very comfortable. I saw at least four or five different housekeepers and housemen who cleaned our room. I remember one name, Jeff. They all did a fantastic job. They were very attentive and with an exceptional eye for detail. I cannot forget about Will from Maintenance. The day my spouse was discharged from the hospital, the AC unit in the room stopped working, and the room temperature was 75°. Will came to the room immediately and worked on it; not only was he able to fix the unit, but he was constantly checking and ensuring that the AC was still working. Last but not least, your Director of Front Office, Yolanda Garcia. Once she learned that someone in our room was ill, she called to ensure we had everything needed to be comfortable. That human factor is so important today. I could keep writing about our experience, but I don't want to write a book (it already looks like one). I know how difficult it has been for hospitality during these terrible times. The General Manager should be very proud of the culture she/he has created with the team members. I can assure you that the next time we are in NYC, we will stay at this property and let our friends know that the Le Meriden NY Central Park hotel is the best place to stay while visiting NYC. Image of the Tripadvisor rating Terrible tiny room, cannot even move around. Not worth the money at all

This is no longer the same Le Meridien on central park, it's a different hotel and rooms are terribly small. Three-star hotel for 5-star price. Really not worth the money. Lobby is tiny as well. Not up to le meridien standard.

The convenience to Carnegie Hall and Central Park was exceptional. Enjoyed the room. The Staff was great and especially Melissa D who was especially helpful. Don’t miss the rooftop patio and bar. We had a lot of fun up there with the stellar views and cocktails. We’ll be back soon!
