Image of the Tripadvisor rating Not a luxury hotel, it isn’t even in Beverly Hills

If you look at Google maps, this hotel is not in Beverly Hills. This is a perfect metaphor for this hotel: desperately trying to be something that it isn’t. This most certainly is not a luxury hotel, and they use Covid as an excuse. We have stayed at 2 other hotels recently with none of the problems here. Nothing was done right, if it was done at all. Everything was cheap and chintzy. You could only order room service, which was fine during Covid, but 6 out of 7 times the order was wrong or something important was missing. Another day the kitchen was closed with no explanation. Wrong food, wrong order, no silverware etc…almost every time. Once, no cup with the tea, and when we called to get one, it never came. Had to wait til the tea cooled and drank it out of the teapot. Absolutely dreadful coffee, and only passable food, if they got the order right. Coffee in the lobby was dishwater. An Italian hotel at least should have good coffee. There were tea bags, but no hot water, and it never came when requested. Stark, worn out room with chintzy dorm-like furniture. No spacious dresser drawers, just cubbies on the floor. Had to live out of my suitcase, In a ‘luxury’ hotel. Holiday Inn quality amenities; not once in 8 days we’re the used ones replenished. No coffee maker, no mini bar, no extra pillow or blanket, nothing you expect from a Leading Hotels of the World. Housekeeping missed a dirty table top and dust bunnies under the bed. I had to clean the room once they left. Rusty worn bathroom fixtures and a toilet that ran at least once an hour. Incredibly noisy, overlooks a main road that seems to be a place for hot rods; construction and leaf blowers across the street, couldn’t open the window if we wanted to have a conversation. The bartender didn’t know how to make a Negroni, I had to tell her how. $25 for a mediocre glass of white wine, which to add insult to injury was a short pour. Cheap. Dysfunctional management, no one knew what was going on, charged for things we never got, management didn’t get back to me as promised when the bill was wrong, until 4 days later when I wrote to LHW to complain. No self-park, valet parking was $60 before tip, and the valet was the bellman so you had to wait. And wait. Not his fault. Huge self-park lot which they didn’t open up to make it better. The Beverly Wilshire a 5 star, Four Seasons hotel, that really is in Beverly Hills, charges $55 for valet, and the Beverly Hilton also in Beverly Hills charges $50. Felt like everything at Mr. C was an attempt to take your money without giving you anything in return. If you read other reviews, many have the same complaints, and all you get is ‘we sincerely apologize…’ The staff seems to be trying, but clearly morale is very low. Mr. Cipriani is rolling in his grave… Read less

We absolutely loved our stay at Mr.C Beverly! We had an amazing view from our hotel room overlooking Beverly Hills. Room service was top notch. Front desk provided excellent customer service. Restaurant and bar area were both exceptional. We will be back!

Wonderful hotel with spacious clean rooms ! Breathtaking view of the city ! Room isolation was not great but understand as it is a historical building ! We understand renovations will take place and we cannot wait to come back to see the results !
