It had a lovely little kitchen. The room was a very good size. Breakfast was average, not much variety and served in paper plates and paper cups. Getting the room serviced was a bit of an issue. The pool area was lovely and we used the bicycles and beach chairs..The hotel offers no views so you have to walk across the road.. I booked via bookings.com but I should have read the fine print a bit better, as I was charged a destination fee for each day and a hefty parking fee. Overall a very average experience Read less

Pros: great location; modern, clean rooms; comfortable; very friendly staff; walking distance to beach and shops Cons: No cell service in rooms! Internet is fine, but everyone had to go to lobby to use their phones; pet friendly so you hear dogs barking at night; limited tv channels

Everything was great. We stayed 6 nights. Rooms are comfortable and quiet, beds really comfortable. Staff is very friendly, all of them. Breakfast was included and it was ok, we use it to complete what we have bought and have in our room. Minor Cons: interior rooms has small windows that can`t be open facing the inner patio. There is no oven or grill function in the microwave, so if you want to cook a pizza you can`t. If you arrive early and there is a room available, you have to pay usd50 to get it (in other hotels we`ve been, if there is one available they gave it for free). We would definitely stay here again. Great hotel in Surfside Miami, good facilities and lovely, helpful staff. The Residence Inn is a short bus or car ride from South Brach Miami. Quite with nicely renovated rooms and buffet breakfast. They also offer free drinks each day from 4.00-5.30 which is a nice touch.

We spent three nights at this hotel and had an extremely disappointing experience. Due to a flight delay, we checked into the hotel at about 11 pm. Upon entering the room, we realized the bathroom sink was clogged and filled with filth from the previous stay. How did it pass housekeeping is beyond me. We called the front desk, and they agreed to send someone to fix it. The handyman came in and worked on it for a while but couldn't fix it. The front desk staff called back and said they would move us to a different room, but we needed to wait because the couch in the other room was broken(?!), and the handyman was fixing it. By now, the time was close to 1 am. We were exhausted, and my little boy fell asleep. We got a call around 2 am that the room was ready. Not wanting to disturb my family, I told the staff that we would move the first thing in the morning. In the morning, I called the front desk, and boy, I got to speak to Alaysya!! She concluded that she had no other room to offer because I "declined" my assigned room last night. She was rude and insisted that we declined the room offered when in reality, the night staff probably forgot to block the reassignment. Instead of owning up to the problem, her behavior was shockingly unprofessional. Alaysya's strategy was to make us responsible for something that was 100% the hotel's fault. It makes me wonder what level of training the staff receive. I insisted I speak to the manager, and thankfully we got the issue resolved later in the day. The manager promised an upgrade, but we didn't get one. We were just happy to get a functional room for the remainder of our stay. We brushed in the shower and tried not to look at the filthy sink until we left the room. Bottom Line: If you are lucky and if everything works well, you probably will have a good stay. If not, be prepared to be shocked. Read less
