We just returned back from the Wydler in Windham, where we stayed for one night. I don’t usually write reviews, but I felt this is one that I needed to write because their website is very misleading. There were some great parts of our stay, but a lot of not so great parts, so to be fair- I made a pro/con list: The pros From the moment we arrived the service was wonderful. Everyone who works at this hotel were helpful and always with a smile. The pool chairs were unbelievably comfortable with very thick cushions. The room is nice, an average size hotel room, everything appeared to be brand new.The restaurant wasn’t open yet (call to check before you come) and we ate at the bar. Once again the woman working at the bar were very sweet and we received quick service. The food was VERY good, but because it was a soft opening, there were limited choices. The bakery has fantastic focaccia bread and other baked goods that looked amazing! The Cons Let me first say the internet photos do a great job at advertising and getting you to come to this hotel, but they are not reality. First, the map on their website shows a pastural setting of buildings scattered around a green lawn and a winding road throughout. The winding road is an actual main road, not just a road that is part of the property. The phot shown on the website to represent the pool is of the cushioned chairs, with lodging quarters behind it, however that is only ONE small angle. In truth, the pool is on this main road. There is a four foot fence around the pool but you are right on the road, and can see cars driving past when in your lounge chairs. They allow children of any age, including those in swim diapers, to be in the pool, so if you have children- you may like the pool, if you are looking to read a book and relax, this may not be the best choice for you. When we arrived at our “king stream side view with balcony” room, I was truly disappointed . The photos on the website show the balcony with two Adirondack chairs, however they don’t show the view from sitting in the chairs. (See photos included). Our view was of the restaurant roof, the road and bridge, if you stood up and looked hard, you may see a smidge of the stream. DO NOT rent this type of room in the Main lodge, because if you see in my photos ALL the rooms had the same roof view, it wasn’t just that we happened to get a bad view. On top of the disappointing view, there are air conditioning units on top of that roof! We were fortunate not to have one directly in front of our balcony, but some do-(again see photos) And needless to say, the air condition units were on the entire time. Now, the good part of that is that it drowned out the noise of the road, but it was far from a peaceful balcony experience. Also to note, the other side of the building which is sold as “a beautiful Mountain View room,” they are rooms directly over over the pool, and the mountain is in the far distance. Be VERY weary of the views the website tries and sell you. Again, if you are looking to relax and sit on your balcony-make sure you are not in the main lodge building. The room itself was nice in appearance, however the furniture in it does not have any drawers, only a closet with shelf on top. The bathroom vanity is very small and separate from the small shower and toilet next to it. Also, bring a hair dryer if you need one, because surprisingly; the room doesn’t have one and you need to request one from the front desk. The bed was fine but the pillows were very soft, thin and uncomfortable. The TV in the room only works if you download an app in order to watch it. There are a bunch of directions, but we weren’t planning on watching a lot of TV so we didn’t bother. But I do think it’s an inconvenience to have to download and app and go through a bunch of steps if you just want to hear a bit of the news. Hoping this review helps, especially when choosing your room. I wish we had waited until more people had stayed and reviewed the hotel. Read less

It didn't get the excellent review because of the elevators, for sure that is something that needs to be taken care of, should switch to something newer. Despite of that, it was a very good stay. I suggested all the way long, whenever you want something simple and comfortable.

Fantastic location if you are going to a show. Rooms are great for the value and staff is always accommodating. i don’t know how arrow accomplishes it, but this hotel is quieter than some others further from 8th Ave hustle! Will always be one of our first choices for a Times Square stay.

While this hotel is cheap, especially for the location, there's definitely a reason why. I have never met such rude people who's job was in the hospitality industry. The front desk staff were hostile to the point that I booked another hotel.
