From the start, the hospitality was outstanding. Everyone was kind, gracious, and welcoming. We were upgraded to a Grand Luxe room and from our perspective it was fabulous. If you're looking for a sleek modern hotel, this is not it, but it hearkens to a former era, and to me this is most welcome. The morning coffee service is great, and they were kind to acknowledge my birthday with a bottle of Laurent Perrier which is one of our favorite champagne. We will be revisiting the St Regis again in the future. Read less

This was our second stay and overall it was very good. The staff was very friendly and our room was very comfortable. And I just love the history of the hotel; you can almost feel it. The location is excellent. However, the St. Regis is costly and you definitely get what you pay for. We got just the standard room and once again it was toward the back of the hotel and overlooked a brick wall. The room was lovely but definitely had signs of aging. I was also disappointed that their famed Bentley was again not running and no real reason as to why. Last time it was “in the shop”. My kids were so disappointed! I was also disappointed that the long standing tradition of sabering champagne no longer happens. It did on our first stay and it was awesome. This time I guess they blamed COVID. But with the bar being packed, elbow to elbow, with paying customers, there didn’t seem to be a health worry there! BTW I do like the King Cole Bar but it could be updated for sure. Room service was just ok. Kids wanted cookies and milk before bed and they were promptly delivered but they sent substitute cookies that my kids didn’t like. In room coffee the next morning was enjoyable but came in at whopping $120 ( plus service charges) for a pot of coffee and two bagels. Lastly, We were going to the parade that day and asked for an extra hour to check out and were denied. Just an hour to refresh and relax. They are very stringent on their check in times too. Despite my modest concerns we did have a nice stay in an elegant and historic hotel. If there’s a next time, I will have to see what the better rooms go for. But not sure I can justify $1,500+ a night. Read less

This is one of 3 locations of the Hotel St. Regis we have stayed in. Normally we love the hotel because the rooms, amenities and staff are normally great. This is one of 3 locations of the Hotel St. Regis we have stayed in. Normally we love the hotel because the rooms, amenities and staff are normally great. The staff we encountered while in NY was was phenomenal (and I wish they still gave those cards to people with hotel status to reward staff like that beyond just tips) but who we encountered personally and how things turned out generally were very different. Despite status and letting them know we were staying there for our son's 3rd birthday the experience really fell flat. Perhaps it was because we used points that they decided to put us in a back corner of the 7th floor in a suite that had certainly not been renovated. But the room was poorly kept and clearly dated (see photos fingerprints on mirrors, dirty walls, damaged furniture and there was no body wash until I found housekeeping in the hall). I also found myself needing to email the concierge 3 times in order to get information on vegan dining options. I get it, not everyone is vegan, but I asked both about the room service and local restaurants and the first response I received was a canned answer in the form of a pdf of local st. regis favs (including steak houses). When I followed up to clarify (vegan, please help, is there more info on room service) I was sent the pdf of the room service menu. The response failed to mention there was no room service being served outside of breakfast at that time,we found out only when we arrived adding to the uselessness of the response. I sent ANOTHER email essentially calling out, you are the Concierge of the Hotel St. Regis in Manhattan and I KNOW you can be more helpful than this. Only then did I get any insights which were limited, and late. Read less

Stay Report - 12/23 - 12/24 Location: Great obviously.  Easy walk to the E/M Station at 53rd and 5th as well as a bunch of other subway stations.  Being close to 5th Avenue, Park Avenue and Lexington Avenues means plenty to eat at, drink at, see, do etc.  The only complaint I have if I have one is that 55th Street backs up easily so any car… Read more
Stay Report - 12/23 - 12/24 Location: Great obviously.  Easy walk to the E/M Station at 53rd and 5th as well as a bunch of other subway stations.  Being close to 5th Avenue, Park Avenue and Lexington Avenues means plenty to eat at, drink at, see, do etc.  The only complaint I have if I have one is that 55th Street backs up easily so any car coming to pick you up or drop you off can take a minute.  It's easier to meet vehicles or be dropped off on 5th. Hotel: What can I say that hasn't been said about this place? Beautiful lobby of course with a lovely dining area and of course the King Cole Bar.  No waits for elevators which is a bonus, even the hallways and stairwells look lovely.  Even more importantly is the staff down to the last person is impeccable at hospitality.  Service was on par with any Asian or European luxury hotel I've stayed at. Check In: I guess if I wanted to complain I'd mention there are only two agents working and because they give such good service you can wait a minute or two in line waiting your turn.  But once you're in front of the agent it's really nice that they are so helpful and give such great service, so I won't complain. Room: I had booked a regular room on points and used a SNA to get an upgrade to a Grand Luxe.  It was a really nice room with a full living room, large bathroom with separate tub and shower and one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in.  The butler service is incredible too.  Every time I rang for my butler they were there in a minute and provided so many nice little touches like coffee and tea in the morning.   Dining: Drinks at the King Cole Bar were very nice and service was great there too.  Titanium Breakfast covered the American Breakfast which was two eggs, choice of meat, potatoes and bread with coffee and juice.  They were nice about substitutions too. I spent 100,000 points on one night here and I feel I got my money's worth.  Where else can I say that about?  Read less
