Image of the Tripadvisor rating Needs update

Jan 25, 2022 bldare San Francisco, California

The hotel needs update. Good location. Hotel seems stuck in the 1950s. The bungalows for which you pay more needs better soundproofing. You can easily hear the neighbors through the access doors and when they close their doors they slam loudly. Parking lot is dodgy.

Excellent customer service. The first night we woke up and it smelled like someone had just chained smoked in our room all night while we were asleep. We called the front desk and within 10-15 mins we had a worker (can’t remember his name) with new room keys and guiding us to our upgraded rooms. Definitely the best value, located on the south… Read more

Image of the Tripadvisor rating Quiet stay

Overall the Tropicana is a quiet place to stay it’s on the end of the strip which is nice. You can catch the Monterel at the MGM right across the cat walk which is quite convenient. Tropicana however has lacked a little bit of luster over the years and seems to be on a little bit of a decline however hearing the news that it was purchased by a new… Read more

Tropicana however has lacked a little bit of luster over the years and seems to be on a little bit of a decline however hearing the news that it was purchased by a new owner I’m not sure what’s going to happen with this iconic hotel hopefully they will be able to bring a little more life back into it and bring it up to be a more prominent fixture on the strip Read less

The casino on a Friday night was packed. Tropicana does show some age but don’t let that stop you from booking a room here as the rooms are huge and the windows still opens up unlike most strip hotels. The only complaint I have is that housekeeping needs to work on cleaning, there were large amount of dust in the bathroom as well as on the side table between the beds but overall I enjoyed my stay but next time I might look elsewhere before booking here due to the fact the cleanliness isn’t up to par being they call this a doubletree Hilton property. Image of the Tripadvisor rating Moldy smell on the floor and rooms

Jan 19, 2022 jemay87

Pocket of water dripping from the bathroom ceiling. Had to change rooms. The south tower of the Tropicana floors and the rooms smelled moldy. It’s if they had a water spill at the building. Saw a couple of homeless guys sleeping on my way to the tower.
