Coconut Court Beach Hotel

The hotel

About as ‘seaside’ as you can get, the Blades family have called this sand-hugging spot home for more than four decades. And they chose a pretty perfect beach for their hotel — which is probably why hundreds of Hawksbill marine turtles call it home too. As you’re here for the beach, the Blades have made sure you’re never far from it, whether you’re lazing on the free loungers, watching moonlight movies on the sands, soaking in the seafront pool and whirlpool, sipping frozen cocktails at the beach bar, or lingering over candlelit suppers at The Deck. The beach itself is lined with beautiful trees to provide natural shelter from the Caribbean rays, so those that don't wish to worship the sun need not worry. It’s not just by the beach though — it’s also steps from South Coast Boardwalk which links you to an array of shops, restaurants and Rockley Beach. The hotel also features an open air restaurant overlooking the white sand beach. Above all else, do not forget to savour a Pirate Punch during one of the several 'happy hours' each day — a traditional Blades family recipe with a twist!

The beach was incredible and really enjoyed dipping into the warm, clear Caribbean waters or in the hotel's pool. Took advantage of the Hotel's Activity Centre to sign up for tours and reservations (thanks Vaida!). One MUST sign up early for Ted's Island Tour: you won't be disappointed. Everything about the hotel was perfect, staff, service, beach, food, drinks, room. Couldn’t have been better. The view of the beach from our room was wonderful. Plenty of sun beds and choice of sun or shade on the beach means there is no rush to get a place and breakfast is so much more relaxing! Captain Charlie’s beach bar right on the sand is perfect for a relaxing bear or a couple of well deserved cocktails. Two happy hours a day! Hastings has quite a few nice places to eat. Salt Cafe and Tapas especially recommended. Food is generally quite expensive, but rum punch is always good value! Cuzz’s fish stall just past the racecourse (15 mins walk) is brilliant and well worth a hot slog for a lunchtime fish cutter. Also a trip to Oisins on a Friday is well worth the ride. Manic, and exciting and great fish. Take the reggae bus opposite the hotel for 3.5 bucks. Read less
