Image of the Tripadvisor rating Great Location / Tired Property

The hotel's location is great and the view from my room was magnificent, but the property itself was neither. Only one elevator was functioning, and I learned that the only other elevator had been out of commission for a year. Only one elevator was functioning, and I learned that the only other elevator had been out of commission for a year. The interior of my room and the furniture in it looked tired and in need of refreshing. And for this I paid more than $500 per night! The property is nowhere close to the standard of Fairmont hotels I have enjoyed in other cities. Read less

We had an excellent stay at Fairmont Miramar, we hosted a full day wine experience in the ballrooms with a 5 day room block for all the winemakers from France and all the teams were top notch! Image of the Tripadvisor rating Loud music every night even during the week

I had an extremely disappointing experience at Fairmont Miramar due to their disregard for guests' peace and quiet. They blasted loud music by the pool until midnight, ruining any chance of relaxation or sleep. Definitely not worth the money for a sleepless night.

Over the years, I have stayed many times at the Fairmont Miramar Resort in Santa Monica, with my now deceased husband, Don, and, on my own since his passing. It is always a wonderfully relaxing and rejuvenating experience. The hotel is gorgeous, the views are incredible of the Santa Monica beach (I usually stay in the north facing Ocean Tower, which is the quiet side of the hotel, with unobstructed views of Malibu), the rooms are well appointed, larger than the newer hotel rooms, the food is great and the service is amazing! There are so many great staff people there, some who have been there for years, and while I won't remember all their names, Chris is the always welcoming bell captain waiting at the drive, I think it was Ariceli?? (the Sunday - Thursday night waitress in the Lobby Lounge) who has also been there a long time, and is always so nice and attentive, Maricela was on the day/lunch shift and she was great. I had a wonderful massage from Cara at the Exhale Spa. Everyone I encounter from the front desk staff, to the pool attendants, to the cleaners and housekeeping staff are terrific. It's always amazing to me that the staff remembers me (and my Don!), which is pretty incredible, considering I only get there once or twice a year! I will say it's not cheap, but every now and again, you get what you pay for. The luxury and quality you get when you stay at the Miramar is consistently a cut above most hotels and I have traveled the world, so I am something of a connoisseur! Thank you for another amazing stay! ;-} Read less
