Image of the Tripadvisor rating Good Property for Location, but Poorly Managed

Having “express passes” include in the rate is nice though and we definitely appreciated the shorter lines. The pool is just ok. It is large, but with no special features, which is kind of strange since so many children are at the hotel. The hot tubs are always crowded and a couple more are needed. There are two aspects of the hotel (so far this stay) that have made me question its management and have resulted in an average rating. (1) Our first two mornings at the hotel, the cleaning crew has been very loud at 8a speaking at a very high volume. This continued the second morning despite alerting management the first morning. I guess they did not care. (2) The convenience store has packaged goods and made-to-order food and drinks. The “express” cash register for packaged items was never open. Making a person wanting a bottled drink wait in line behind “made-to-order” clientele is just dumb. Read less

We received everything we'd asked for plus. First off, wanted a room with 2 Queen bed because there never seems to be enough pillows...not a problem, there was an abundance of pillows. We also got our water view, albeit of the pool, but it was water, lol. If I had any complaints, it would be that we were like the fourth room away from the end of… Read more
We received everything we'd asked for plus. First off, wanted a room with 2 Queen bed because there never seems to be enough pillows...not a problem, there was an abundance of pillows. We also got our water view, albeit of the pool, but it was water, lol. If I had any complaints, it would be that we were like the fourth room away from the end of the hall, which made it a very long trek to the elevators. Why they don't have elevators at the ends of the building beats me. But the entire staff was very pleasant, and the short boat ride to the parks made it extra enjoyable. The only other minor complaint would be the food prices. Twenty-four dollars including coffee is a little steep for breakfast, or if you want to stuff yourself you can do a buffet for twenty-nine. We ate dinner a couple nights over at CityWalk and our dinners were cheaper than breakfast! Read less

Booked a king room tower 3 sixth floor. Check in took about 30 min. We dod online checkin, but the sign is not visible and on the opposite end where the line forms. That's ok, we will know next time. Our water is currently out at 830am. It happens. Everyone has been nice and the hotel is clean as usual. This is our favorite hotel. The… Read more

Great location for our Universal theme park stay. Islands of Adventure is about a 10-minute walk, but there is also the water taxi which was a relief after an entire day of walking. Check in at Loews was fantastic. The desk agent answered all of our questions and anticipated some we didn't ask. The hotel is big and pleasant to look at, inside… Read more
Great location for our Universal theme park stay. Islands of Adventure is about a 10-minute walk, but there is also the water taxi which was a relief after an entire day of walking. Check in at Loews was fantastic. The desk agent answered all of our questions and anticipated some we didn't ask. The hotel is big and pleasant to look at, inside and out. In March, the pool was a little chilly, but my 10-year-old still got in and swam w/ some ducks. He and his brothers also enjoyed the ping pong table. We did not dine at the hotel, except to buy some coffees. If just my wife and I had stayed there, we definitely would've enjoyed the bar and restaurant. With adolescent boys, we tend to go for cheaper fare. As with most resorts these days, there are high fees for parking/valet, but that's the norm. I don't think I've ever spent this much on a hotel room for one night, BUT the Express Pass add-on to our park tickets for a family of 5 made complete sense. Lines at many rides during Spring Break get to well over an hour, but we never waited more than 30 minutes for the super popular ones, and usually much less than that. (Hagrid's motorcycle coaster was never less than 120 minutes, so we skipped it). Read less

Clean and nice rooms and of course great location, plus, having the perk of express pass and early access to the park improves a lot your general experience. The only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is because of customer service, like 20% of our interactions with hotel personnel was great and were very nice, 70% was just OK, not very smiley or attentive but not rude either, but that other 10%, were grumpy, impatient and very impolite, specially a guy call Sam from one of the restaurants downstairs.
