Our 6 days visit to the Maritim Resort has been the most incredible introduction to the paradise island of Mauritius. This resort has everything and more for a magical experience. Set in a former estate with beautifully kept tropical gardens, a golf course, a special animal sanctuary as well as industrial and social history mementoes the Maritim fulfilled my idea of the dream holiday. I found its number 1 attribute was undoubtedly the staff. We have never encountered such genuinely pleasant and helpful staff in our many visits abroad over the years. From our welcome through to leaving they all had the essential basics of customer care - warm smile, greeting, can I help etc.. Staff training here must be of the highest order to achieve such consistency at every level. The hotel, pools, beaches and grounds are maintained to an excellent standard and there really is something for everyone here. Cannot recommend more highly. Read less

The rooms are comfortable and it's really nice coming back in the afternoon and seeing the room all cleaned and tidied up. The staff is mostly welcoming (big shootout to Dario and Deepak from the equestrian center which was our main puirsuit during our stay. Thank you so much!!) The food is really good too, with a good opportunity to taste dishes from different corners of the planet. A small remark regarding Lakaz Kreol: the food is apparently too spicy for children but we weren't aware, my 9 yo sister couldn't eat there unfortunately. The drinks were also of good quality, despite them sometimes being a bit too sweet. A wonderful experience overall. Not regretting coming a second time at all and looking forward for coming soon! For instance the Food and Beverage Manager, a certain Deven and Luciana, the waiter, Nundlall the cleaner are there to give you the best service. I am honestly sorry if I had not mentioned all the names of all the dedicated workers. In summary there's value for money. So if you want to visit Paradise Island, Mauritius, and not visiting Maritim Resort Hotel at Balaclava, it's will be a great miss in your life. Read less
