The grounds are also clean with maintenance men constantly on the go, it can be easy given the amount of steps and this place can seem like a maze. Food was good with plenty of choice. We ate at Rachels and Chopstix (which was my favourite. The staff really make this hotel and are so friendly. The only thing that I found disappointing is they have a flood light on the beach facing one of the prime turtle nesting beaches in the area. This causes hatchlings to head along the beach rather than directly to the sea. It would be so easily rectified by moving it onto an adjacent tree to face away from Drill Hall beach - Come on Savannah, sort it out please!! Read less

Kimberley, Tyrone, Kemeishia and Cat (who works on the omelette station at Rachaels at breakfast are but a few. There was a great choice of food whether buffet food at Drifters bar or al a carte at Rachael's restaurant. We had a room with a beach view which was amazing. Our room was always kept clean by the staff and fresh towels were always provided. Beach towels are also provided. The hotel was kept quite clean and tidy. There is a small sandy beach which was nice and quiet. There was a problem with seaweed in the first week which was cleaned up but this wasn't a big problem It is advisable to wear beach shoes when going into the sea as there is patches of rocks. We flew with Virgin and their rep Dionne, who is based at the hotel is very friendly and helpful and can answer all of your questions. Overall we had a fabulous time and would recommend this hotel. Stayed at the Savannah Beach Hotel for a couples holiday to celebrate a big birthday, and what a place to celebrate. The Room - Stayed in a club room which was perfect, a large room with all the amenities you would ever need, tea and coffee, spirits, mixers, water and beer which were restocked daily if needed. The room has a huge bed with a ceiling fan over the top which helps to circulate the air conditioning which is a god send. The food - There are 3 restaurants, Rachel's which serves breakfast and evening meal, Chopstix which is chinese and Drifters which is the buffet restaurant. Breakfast Buffet- has every thing you could want from a cooked breakfast to continental, my only issue was the lack of sausages! I am not a huge breakfast fan and toast usually does but thought as we had a long day on a trip would treat myself to cooked everything else but no sausages not a huge issue but does surprise me . Chopstix - Chinese not much on the menu but everything we had was perfect. Drifters - Buffet was great everything piping hot and plenty of choice. We had upgraded to club when booking and what a bonus this was, there was a deck especially for club with extra padded sunbeds, wine and beer in the chillers as well as soft drinks, but what made it special was Petal the hostess, she made sure that every whim was taken care of, what a special lady and an asset to the hotel. Staff are great alway friendly and willing to help with any questions. The reception staff are so helpful, Camille and Danielle are wonderful loved having a chat with them when they werent too busy and they try and give you their time, which is not easy. The beach is small but does the trick, but got caught with the seaweed on the last couple of days and unable to use it, but the staff worked tirelessly to try and clear it even though it was a uphill struggle. The pool is small but so is the hotel and was fine. All in all had a fab time and hope to go back in the near future Read less

Hotel is fantastic value for what you pay. We booked a club class room, double double with direct pool access. Hotel is fantastic value for what you pay. We booked a club class room, double double with direct pool access. The room was on the 2nd floor so we had to go down a flight of stairs which were attached to our balcony ( would request a floor with no stairs to pool next time) The pool you access via room is a lazy river type pool, no movement though, which is really nice. There are steps no matter which floor you are on as the main lobby is on the road level and all rooms and facilities are lower than road level, even the beach. Our room was large accessed by an external door. As you enter the room the bathroom, complete with bath, overbath shower etc. We were also provided with plenty of shampoo, shower gel, soap, body lotion and shower caps. There was also a soap dispenser on wall inside shower which was always full. I believe as part of our "club" package we received upgraded toiletries therefore I am not sure what the standard toiletries would consist of. We always had plenty of hot water. Although we were given a card informing us of towel change days we seemed to get clean towels more often, which was great. Your towel packs are 1x beach towel, bath towel, hand towel and face cloth per person (at least that is what we had, there were 2 of us). To the left of the entrance there is a large fitted wardrobe with plenty of hanging space, a safe, ironing board, iron and a few shelves, we used the large shelf across the top to store our suitcases. You the come to an alcove on either side, one has a dressing table with a few drawers, a large mirror and a hairdryer. Opposite is a small fridge ( ours was stocked with 2 bottles of beer, 2 Sprite, 2 diet coke, 2 coke, 2 waters, 2 dry ginger ales, 1 soda water and 1 tonic water as our Club room upgrade. This was checked on a daily basis and restocked as necessary) above this was a large shelf containing a kettle, 2 mugs on a tray, there was also 2 sachets of coffee, 2 teabags, some sugar, milk and stirrers, no spoon! We took our own coffee and no spoon! First morning coffee was guess work lol. Asked for a spoon at breakfast so soon sorted. Above this was a shelf with an ice bucket, 2 plastic glasses and, as part of our Club upgrade, 200ml bottle of-: Mount Gay rum, Amsterdam gin, Grant's Whiskey and Stlichnaya vodka, again this was replenished as required. The main bedroom consists of 2 double beds with a small chest of drawers between them, on one side of the room was a small desk with chair, a 2 drawer chest, a standard lamp and a TV on the wall. Large french doors opened up onto a decent sized balcony with a wicker sofa, foot stool and chair. TV was pretty basic but not bad. Mainly films. The only thing that I feel would have made the room better would have been a nice comfy sofa/ chair so you had somewhere else to sit rather than the bed, yes we had a balcony but sometimes you need respite from the heat and apart from main lobby it is only your rooms that have air conditioning. Staff at the hotel were amazing, very friendly and attentive. Nothing was too much trouble. We had insecticide sprayed in our room every evening, you only have to ask once and you get added to the list. My husband has an allergy to certain spices and once we made staff aware of this they made sure he always had something suitable to eat, taking his order every day at breakfast. I have no issues with food and was extremely impressed by the choice and quality. We had most of our meals at Rachel's and cannot praise the staff highly enough. We did eat a few meals at Drifters and again we were never disappointed, they serve there meals buffet style but you can also order pizzas, burgers, wraps etc. As part of Club upgrade we also had access to a decked area on the beach, we had sunbeds, umbrellas, small tables as well as an area that contained a couple of cool boxes with beer, soft drinks and water to help yourself to, there was some fruit, crisps, nuts and biscuits too. As well as this there was a host who looked after you. She would fetch drinks from the bar, circulate with some snacks and would also take your lunch order and bring it to you at your chosen time. SPOILT!!! Entertainment was provided most evenings from 8.30pm and was fine. The beach here was not very accessible due to seaweed and rocks but we knew that when we came. The hotel runs a shuttle service to Copacabana beach, which is beautiful, for free. They also provide you with 2 tokens each for drinks and you will get free sunbeds and umbrella. You can walk to some nice beaches too. Copacabana is about a 20 minute walk but if you take yourself on a day the hotel does not have access you will have to pay for sunbeds. I would recommend this hotel to friends and family for it's great value for money, friendly staff, cleanliness, food choice and quality. There were so many people at this hotel who helped to ensure we had a great experience. Too many to remember but everyone from managers, bar staff, waiting staff, reception, cleaning staff, chef's, security all took time to speak to us whenever we saw them. Thank you to ALL STAFF at the Savannah Beach Hotel. You were all amazing Read less

Our first visit to the Caribbean so we selected an all inclusive option. The hotel and its location did not disappoint. The rooms were large (we had two massive king sized beds) and airy with a fairly large balcony. The bathrooms are starting to look a little tired but they were kept spotlessly clean by the legion of cleaning staff and they even came and sprayed your rooms whilst we were out to deter the mozzies. The staff were excellent, really really friendly, helpful when necessary and chatty. This is actually true of all the Barbadians -I have never encountered such friendly people. The food in the hotel was varied and very plentiful - my husband is gluten intolerant but there was always a choice available for him and the chef would often walk him around the buffet advising him on what he could have. This hotel sits right on the beach at the Garrison and you could walk along the beach in either direction. Its a coral as opposed to volcanic island so the sand is like talc - gorgeous! If you want to walk along the boardwalk you only have to walk for about 5 mins from the hotel to join the start of it. There are 3 restaurants at the hotel but we only ate at two of them because the 3rd choice was Chop Sticks serving noodles etc which hubby cannot eat. Entertainment often provided at the Drifters bar restaurant and despite our room being fairly close we were never bothered by noise. If I returned to Barbados I would have no problem staying at this hotel again. Read less
