The hotel was consistent with responding to emails prior to my visit. Although, it was usually a day before I got a response. My flight on Jet Blue arrived at 4:44am.The hotel said they'd do their best to accommodate my early check in, but no guarantees. Even the day before, they had the same response. I arrived and the friendly reception clerk showed me to a temporary room that I used until my room was ready. I finally was moved around 12 noon and had a terrific room on the second floor. # 270 which I highly recommend. It has a king size bed and a private balcony overlooking the pool and the ocean. Standard Courtyard room with a private staircase that leads right to the pool. It's also steps away fro Drifters restaurant Because most rooms face the pools, you will hear happy screaming kids in the pool all day. (No nap time in my room for me!) Tip. Go to the ocean and have the waves lull you to sleep. The biggest annoyance was the EXTREMELY LOUD 'crickets" that make an extremely loud chirping sound. One that resembles a rusty swing set going back and forth from sun down to sun up. I thought it was coming from birds, but the locals said it was from Crickets. I had to wear ear plugs every night just to fall asleep. The food was good. The variety of salads at Drifters was always good The hamburgers are a kind of mystery meat and a little on the raw side. But all in all, I enjoyed eating there. Chop sticks was terrific. They let you order whatever you want. I have multiple appetizers . The main shrimp noodle entree as on the spicy side, so make sure you tell them the temperature you want your food. The beach in front of the hotel is rocky. Walk to the left and you'll be at Palm Beach. i saw a lot of fish near the rocks while snorkeling. If you walk to the right (past Drill hall beach). The rocks disappear and you can find a pink sand oasis perfect for sunbathing and body surfing. Walk out of the hotel and take a left. Past the Horse track and 10 minutes down the road is Carlisle bay. Best snorkeling on the island is at Folkstone Marine Park. I rented a car from Drive-a-matic and it was delivered to the hotel. Nightly music is always entertaining. Usually stopping by midnight as it can sometimes be a bit loud. Breakfast was my favorite meal. Crepes and Omelets were divine. Rooms were well maintained, although one day they took all my towels on the floor. It wasn't a towel day, so I ended up using a beach towel after my shower. Weird. but O K. I'm not a fan of countries that add a $10 USD a day exit fee. We pay thousands of dollars to visit your countries and then to say, 'Oh yeah" to leave you need to pay us. Neither Travelocity or the hotel mentioned this prior to my visit. There are elevators in the front of the complex, but if you don't like stairs (and there are a lot of them) get a room on the first floor. A great trip none the less. Read less

I selected this hotel because it was close to where I had a conference. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay there. I arrived late but the staff was very warm and welcoming - kudos particularly to John who was the ultimate host. I was in the plantation section which was as everyone has noted noisy. I was fine because I had to be up early for meetings but if you want to sleep in you may find these rooms not suitable. The rooms are lovely and have everything that you need and I did enjoy sitting on my verandah and overlooking the road. Breakfast was included and I thought that it would be the usual continental fare but this is a full breakfast compete with custom made omelettes and pancakes. It is a very nice buffet and it took me through most of the day. I only ate supper there one night and had not really understood the options available but kudos again to Tyrone who made sure to fix me up with a burger even though that was not on the menu. The staff really make the Savannah and the level of service and genuine care is really unusual these days. I felt at home and will make this my Barbados home in the future. Read less

We stayed for a week in a deluxe pool view room. The room was great, and very clean. The hotel staff was really friendly and went out of their way to make sure we had a good time. We were there to celebrate a big birthday and everyone went out of there way to make sure we had a special day. Dinner at Rachel's and Chopstix was superb. Even the buffet at Drifters was good. All went well with the rum and cokes or Banks beer. The beach immediately by the hotel is a lovely natural beach with palm trees right to the waters edge, unfortunately it was difficult to getting in to the sea from here because of the reef, but it didn't matter, a short walk to Pebbles beach meant we could get in to the water easily. At Pebbles we were able to go snorkelling early one morning and saw turtles. We later went on a boat out to deeper water and snorkelled over a wreck, where the fish were amazing, and then was able to see lots of turtles, sting rays, squid, truly a fantastic experience, everyone should do this. All in all a great hotel to stay at in Barbados. Read less

My friend Sarah and I have just got back from a wonderful week at Savannah Hotel. We had a court yard room, near Rachel's Restaurant and it was well decorated, spacious and had good facilities and lovely views. Our first shout out has to go Petal and Kamissha and little Kimberley too as they took such good care of us all week. I would recommend taking the upgrade when you book this hotel as it is worth the little extras. All the staff are lovely and the food was really nice - I am a fussy eater with an allergy and nothing was too much trouble. If I could give a little bit of constructive criticism to the hotel - it is starting to look a bit tired in parts, but I can see that you are working on that, and a little bit of boardwalk from Drifters bar to the beach decking would make it easier/nicer getting to and from....having said that it certainly won't ruin anyone's lovely holiday here. I can't wait to come back - maybe later in the year with my husband. Thank you for helping us enjoy a wonderful week. Read less
