Receptionist not the most welcoming and the £42 per person fee for amenities is a bit of a rip off the hotel pool is tiny and situated in the middle of the hotel block. The rooms are a little bit dated there is a safe but it wouldnt work. However none of our stuff was taken and the cleaning team as well as being trustworthy were also very good the room was cleaned daily and spotless the bed was super comfy and very big. We stayed Saturday 10th and checked out Tuesday 13th during mardi gras season everyone was in a great mood very friendly and it was a great experience the only issue is the roads get barricaded off for the parades so we ended up having to pay a uber $126 to get from the airport to the closest point we could for the hotel and still had to walk 10 minutes through the crowds with our cases to get to the hotel due to the hotel being on magazine st which is the route for the parades. The Room was clean and cute. Balcony was awesome. We loved staying there and will stay again if we come back to New Orleans. Everyone that we dealt with was very friendly and very helpful. The breakfast/bartender guy( didn’t get his name) was awesome and we loved visiting with him.

Despite its location, the hotel was surprisingly quiet. We walked everywhere from the hotel - French Quarter, St. Louis Cemetery 1, WWII museum and several restaurants. It is also close to a street car stop to take to the Garden District. We were there over New Years and did not hear anything - room very quiet, very clean, comfortable beds and… Read more

Despite the staff's assurance that this deposit would be refunded, it has not been returned. As I reside abroad, making international phone calls to the US is costly, and unfortunately, there is no available means to contact the staff via email (the email address listed on the website is no longer active) or through a chat service to resolve this matter. I will maintain this rating until the deposit is refunded. PS: Breakfast service is extremely slow (over 45min) and there is no way to make coffee or tea in the room. Read less

We love staying at a different hotel every Christmas season we go to New Orleans. This time we found a great room and parking package and opted to try out the St. James Hotel. While old (it’s in a 200 year old building) it is kept up and has a charming lobby and fantastic service. Our room even opened up to a private courtyard! And the hotel is… Read more
