Currently staying at the Tamarind in the junior ocean view suit (316). The room is large, cleaned every day with fresh towels and has a great view. Came to this hotel with my husband 13 year old daughter.. The hotel rooms are dated and a bit tattered around the edges I believe the hotel is being refurbished and unfortunately didn’t get a room but one by the pool near water sports. I wasn’t to bothered about the dated aspect off room but got really annoyed with the lack of consistent when it came to servicing the room and replenishing with basic like towels cups water ( I even said to receptionist I’m happy to sort my bed out just need water in room as weather was so hot!) twice our room was missed and I had to ask for basic (towels were a big issues beach and bathroom) 5-6 time we were staying there. The staff are pleasant but I can see why they might be a little uninthused. Drinks were ok I don’t drink that much but it would have been nice when your on beach to have some form of waiter service like a lot off inclusive generally have, I was offered a drink where I laid twice in the whole ten days I think this was due to lack off staff at the smaller bar, and if you want a coffee only one of the bars provide them. The buffet foid was what I would have expected dealing with the masses and the evening meal which you have to book to get a seat was nothing to write home about not enough basian food for me which I would have preferred. The Italian is mostly impossible to get in and for the first two days we were there it was closed. My 13 year old was mostly bored as the teenage games room was lacking in anything interesting for her it was dark and pretty tatty, sadly there was no one around who pulled the teenagers together and made them a little more enthusiastic about doing something most kids now will have there head in a phone would have been nice to have some entertainment from the hotel that was organised with them in mind, so she ended up mostly bored , and yes there were water sports but if you don’t have a child who’s confident in the water you will have a very bored teenager not the inclusive experiences I’ve had before. I think I won’t be choosing a change when I return to Barbados which I will, I’d rather find a local run hotel or a small boutique as this change was lacking in any personal experience and the pictures are off the revamped rooms and a little staged for the outside areas too.. It’s rare that the day I land I write a review I either usually forget or take months to do it. We landed this morning after two weeks in the Caribbean. We did a weeks cruise and a week at Tamarind. We were a little nervous about coming to Tamarind due to a “refurb” ok it’s got signs of wear but my god what a fabulous holiday we’ve had. There was 7 of us in total ages 60-2. My room was 124 which was a junior suite and it was HUGE!!! We also had rooms 131 and 132. All very clean and well looked after even when due a refurb. The food and drinks were great and we’ve had such a lovely holiday. I had read a few reviews about no bar after 9:30 and that’s false. The bar was open till 12:30am. A blended fruit punch was a firm favourite all round in our family. Especially in the day around the pool (we’re not drinkers) and they were beautiful! Staff! What can I say! They were a big part of the holiday and were exceptional. We don’t come across one staff member that we were unsure about. They all work super hard. Just a few that jump to mind are Amanda, Jayda, Troy and best of all Chris (pool bar) he made firm memories in our family doing H2O shots with our 7 year old son at the bar hahaha! He’s truly a wonderful guy and thank you for being such a good sport and letting our 7 year old chew your eye off. Kids club: these ladies work super hard and my son loved popping in and out to cool activities. T-shirt designing and painting, Easter egg hunt, Easter tea party and a petting zoo with popcorn and candle floss. There was a spiderman film on the lawn one evening, which my son loved. I also used the spa once for a bamboo massage and was truly wonderful. We will certainly return to Tamarind next time we go to Barbados. Thank you to Sophia and the whole team. Read less

Bit dated but ocean front room with the most comfy bed and pillows ever!! always cleaned and fresh bath & beach towels. The food and drinks were great, even the sparkling wine which often isn't inclusive was lovely. Bar / Lunch food amazing. Great location for travelling about and in our opinion on one of the best beaches we saw. The hotel is much prettier than others that are more modern. Did al lovely horse ride with Steve's stables and lots of other bits. The water taxi is a great addition, do not lose that or the hotel charm. Had the best holiday & our first time to Barbados :) Read less

The facilities cover all you could want from a Caribbean all inclusive hotel - 3 great pools, beach front access, 2 places to eat, bars that have an extensive drink menu but will make you off-menu drinks too, fabulous watersports. The food is diverse and tasty and there is a kids menu available for any picky eaters. The dine around and water taxi options make it easy to add a little variety to the holiday without needing to spend any money beyond the all inclusive price. But what really makes this hotel special is the staff - Deon and her amazing milkshakes, Ether at breakfast, Amanda in the pool bar at lunch and David on the watersports boat - they really do go the extra mile to ensure their guests have a memorable holiday.
