Extremely disappointed with our recent stay at The Rembrandt, hotel is now very dated . We were originally allocated a delux plus room that was anything but !! Very hard bed , small basic room with no character whatsoever. We changed room , second room was very dated , initially smoky but Fitments etc superior to original room. Hotel was full so no opportunity to upgrade our delux booking !!! Pool is way too small for hotel with insufficient sun loungers and parasols. Breakfast very basic , dark dingy restaurant. Indian meal at Ran Magal on 26th floor was really good. We certainly will not choose this hotel in future. Read less

5th time staying here before travelling on, this is not a 4 star but not a 3 this is because the hotel is looking a little tired, the staff are very friendly and welcoming, pool area good and clean, gym also looks good but didn't use it, would definitely return as this hotel is very central.

Stayed here for the second time. The service is good. The good is of good quality. Has a tuktuk to take guests to the main street. The rooms are serviced regularly. Well its a old hotel so some things now are in need of renovation. I guess renovation would mean not to replace but to repair. As the furniture does give the room a vintage feeling.… Read more

Summary - A perfectly good accommodation for a short stay in Bangkok for a family of 4. We stayed here for 3 nights and mainly used it as a place to rest and recover from the day's trips and sightseeing. Location: The location is good, within walking distance to the metro, plenty of local eateries, and massage places. Nothing we visited in terms of markets and shopping centers was more than 30 minutes away by taxi or metro. Breakfast: Very average. Not a great choice but sufficient. There was an egg station during the weekdays, but it was not available on Sunday (our first day), which was a huge disappointment. Rooms: A family of 4 stayed in one room, and the kids had a large bunk bed which they enjoyed. The rooms were quite dated, as is most of the hotel. The shower was very powerful but was handheld, not a rainfall showerhead. There was a separate bath and shower available to use. Restaurants: This is where the hotel did well (apart from breakfast). We ate lunch at the Mexican restaurant (poolside) and had a fine dining experience at the Indian restaurant (Rang Mahal), and the food was excellent. Rang Mahal was incredibly expensive by Thailand standards. However, it is a fine dining experience with views overlooking the city. For those in London, it was like paying for your local Indian restaurant but getting upmarket cuisine and views like the Shard. Pool: A lovely outdoor pool to relax and escape the Bangkok heat. It was very shallow on one end (under 1m) and then went to about 1.5m. The water was lovely and warm.It was at the pool restaurant where I had my only really negative experience. My wife had returned from outside and brought back a bottle of water to the pool (we had already had several pool snacks and drinks and spent a decent amount of money) when the staff jumped on us about not bringing in external food and drink - it was one bottle of water. They were quite insistent and rude about this, insisting it was hotel policy and not about money. After I said they could just charge me for a bottle of water and let me drink the one we had, they went away - poor customer service and showed some of the true colors of the hotel. Would I return? The breakfast was disappointing, and the experience with the staff at the pool was annoying. If I'm here for 1-2 nights, I would stay again, but anything longer, I would stay elsewhere. You can always visit the restaurants without staying at the hotel! Read less
