Aude was phenomenally helpful with our check in and questions. When I needed my skis tuned for fresh tracks breakfast, Will walked me over to pick them up at 9pm after he was getting off shift. Definitely above and beyond service.

This was our second trip to Whistler but it was the first time we have stayed at the Fairmont Chateau. Will we come back? ..........its already booked. We stayed over Christmas with two children aged 11 and 13 the big draw was the skiing but what made the holiday was the hotel. It managed somehow to please us all, something that is not always easy as our Children enter the teenage years. My daughter was concerned she would somehow "miss out on Christmas" that was never an issue. The Fairmont Chateau is Christmas central, treats left in your room each day , every inch of the common areas decorated, Christmas Trees, open fires to sit beside, baubles, tinsel, Christmas music, chefs processions, huge free welcome buffets, it had it all. We even ordered a real Christmas tree for our room a 5 ft tree duly arrived with lights and decorations that our son and daughter really enjoyed decorating as they listened to their Christmas music playlist. It is a large hotel so you get a lot of facilities such as proper gym complete with Peloton Bikes (not a sad excuse with poor equipment in a dark and dingy basement) Here you can train on quality equipment whilst looking out over the outside pool area to the mountains beyond. The pool area with saunas and hot tubs is a great place to relax after a few hours on the slopes, extra special as the hot steaming water soothes tired muscles as the snow falls around you. There are a variety of restaurants and bars all with a slightly different feel and price point. So you have a choice of places to eat and drink without leaving the hotel. The one constant is they all feel warm and inviting . When you do decide to venture further afield, no problem, one of the hotel cars will take and collect you to and from one of the numerous quality restaurants in the wider Whistler area. So all the facilities are great but that would not mean anything without the dedication and care of the staff, they give the feeling of warmth and soul that makes the hotel such a special place to stay. I have stayed in hotels where the buildings are impressive, the facilities are fantastic and the staff are very professional. The Fairmont Chateau experience exceeds those hotels. From the moment you walk through the door to the moment you leave, there is a warmth. Every member of staff really seems to be pleased to see you and want to do all they can to ensure that you have a memorable holiday......... and we did. Read less

The room was very comfortable and had a nice view, a couple of times during the day we ended up with little treats/surprises that were left in our suite. The pool area is definitely the highlight of the hotel (it gets a little crowded in the afternoon), the outdoor saunas are amazing and underutilized by guests (great news for us), the bonfire and all the whirlpools are amazing. We dine at the Grill Room, the Wildflower and the Mallard and I must say that the laid back Mallard lounge was my favorite as far at atmosphere, value for your money and ambiance. The service that we received from the bell boys, shuttles, front desk, concierge and transportation was impeccable. Read less

Really enjoyed staying at the Fairmont in Whistler. The location is excellent and the staff is superb. We particularly enjoyed our hiking/snowshoeing adventure with Rikki. He provides an extraordinary experience and its complementary for hotel guests. This is precisely the type of experience that sets the Fairmont apart from other hotels.

I stayed here for a business conference. The room was fine except for an intermittent creaking in a wall that drove me slightly crazy. But the hotel is huge and has a mass-market, middlebrow ambience. People walked around the lobby in bathrobes and bare feet. The lobby was always chaotic and loud. It's very family friendly but if you want an… Read more
