This resort offered a great getaway with perfectly manicured and lush grounds with pools that never seem to end! It was a very relaxing experience staying here and we would gladly return. The Tidepools restaurant had a special atmosphere with excellent seafood too. We did quickly learn that we needed a car to get around as Uber is not readily available. We had avoided due to the resort parking fees, but, self parking wound up being no charge, which would have been nice to know up front. There were always adequate spots available. Read less

The beach was nice but too rough for swimming . We saw sea lions on the beach. Restaurants were very good. Don’t miss Tidepools and we ate at the breakfast buffet a few times and it was also very good. The gym was great and had Peloton bikes! Complimentary shuttle was nice and we used it to go to dinner at a few places nearby. The departure lounge was perfect for our last day as our flight did not leaven until late evening and we had could stay and use the pool and relax during the day. Would definitely return one day! PS take the beach path to the left of hotel for some fantastic views and sunsets !! Read less

Amazing experience! My husband and I had the best time. One of the best trips I have ever had. Staff was very accommodating, food was great, and overall a lot of fun. I would recommend to anyone who has not been to Kauai. I can’t say enough good things.

This property is gorgeous and well-maintained but the staff seemed overwhelmed during my brief visit. It was the tail end of spring break and I was told the resort was at capacity. This was evident around the pool areas which were filled with noisy children. Even the adults only pools were hectic. Thankfully, we were able to access the Anara Spa facility which has its own lap pool and is peaceful and uncrowded. We dined at 3 onsite properties: Tidepools - way overrated. Maybe we came on an off night because it was not the fine dining experience we were expecting. We were also told they had a new executive chef, so not sure if that was a factor? We ordered all appetizers because we wanted to try a little of everything and the quality was disappointing. The soba noodle salad was overpriced at $27 and turned out to be soba noodles with a drizzle of sesame oil. We also had the kalbi beef, crab cakes, lamp chops and garden greens salad which was also overpriced at $18. The parmesan bao buns were amazing as were the desserts: chocolate lava cake and creme brulee. The staff overall from the hostess to our server, Gary, seemed indifferent and not welcoming at all. Stevensons Library - overpriced sushi rolls. A California Roll was $24 and the Crunchy Roll was $25. I'd only recommend the black cod which at $23 was decent. Service was top notch compared to Tidepools. Ilima Terrace - we had lunch there twice and it was the best dining experience overall. Relaxing view of the lagoon, very friendly service and reasonably priced for lunch. We ate off property for breakfast at the Anuenue Cafe nearby which was reasonably priced and tasty. Take-out only.
