Why walk when you can ride? What with its Pacific-parallel cycle lanes, cast of eccentric characters, iconic sights, and unmistakable energy, the beaches and boardwalks of Santa Monica and beyond beg to be explored by bike. And we’re not talking about just any bike, but the stylish and shamelessly cool classic beach cruiser. You can hire them for 24 hours to discover this corner of the west coast at your leisure.

The price includes all the locks, baskets, lights, and helmets (so all the bells and whistles) you need to make the experience entirely hassle-free. Plus, these single-gear bikes are suitable for all the family, so all you need to think about is where you’ll be cruising to on a full day of adventure.

Since you’ll be picking up your bikes in front of the tennis courts in Venice Beach (between 19th and 20th Ave.), you’ll be right there to explore this Italian-influenced area. It’s home to some interesting architecture, and also hosts some truly alluring sculptures and legal graffiti walls. Take a ride down the streets and enjoy the ‘off-the-wall’ art by world-renowned street artists.

From Venice Beach Boardwalk, you could head north to the wonderland of Santa Monica Pier. Join the kids (and adults — let’s be honest) at Pacific Park, grab some tickets and go wild on the amusements. FYI, the Pacific Wheel is fantastic if you want to get a snap of the coastline, with amazing views at the top. Since you’ve got the bike for 24 hours, why not pop back in the evening when it’s all lit up as well? It’s a great spot to grab some lunch or dinner too. Did someone say Bubba Gump?

If you feel like going for a longer ride, then LA makes it easy. Not only does it give you amazing views to gawp at while you ride, but they also give you a dedicated highway to do all your sightseeing on. The Marvin Braude Bike Trail — locally known at The Strand — is a wide 22-mile, ocean-side bike path, stretching from Will Rogers State Beach, in the Pacific Palisades in the north, to Torrance County Beach in the south. Along this route, you’ve got all the sights like Muscle Beach (the old site is actually back at Santa Monica, near the pier), Marina Del Rey, Manhattan Beach and Hermosa Beach. If you’re up for the ride, you can happily sail along The Strand, stopping to scrunch your toes in the sand and enjoy the beach culture of the wonderful neighbourhoods all the way along Los Angeles iconic coastline. It’s quite a stretch… but so is the beach!

Payment flexibility

Don’t worry if you’ve missed a payment or just need a little more time to pay; we have options available to help you. If your holiday is going ahead as planned, you can continue to pay for your holiday in Manage my booking, even if travelling in less than 12 weeks. If you’re unsure, you can delay any additional payments by choosing a new time to travel by requesting a call back in Manage My booking for one of our team to look at options. If your holiday is more than 6 months away, you may wish to set up a Direct Debit to spread the cost. This can be arranged whilst rebooking or afterwards in Manage my booking.

We're flexible with your holiday plans

We understand that you may wish to change your holiday plans and we appreciate the need for flexibility. 

We'll be in touch by email letting you know how to register to change your holiday plans. You can also log into Manage my booking to find the details there.

You're holiday is going ahead as planned

If we haven’t notified you of any changes, your holiday will be going ahead as planned but if you prefer to move your holiday to a later time we can help. You can call our team on 0344 472 9499 who can look at options for you.

Thank you for your patience and understanding

Payments are being prioritised based on when the request was made, working in order from March 2020 onwards. We will always try to process refunds at the earliest opportunity, for requests before August our maximum timeframe is 120 days. As we are steadily reducing the maximum processing time for each new request, for refund requests made in August, we expect the maximum processing time to be 80 days, from the date the refund is requested. For those requesting a refund in September, we expect it to be processed within a maximum of 60 days, and then reduce to 30 days for refunds requested in October, before returning to normal levels.

To finalise the amendment, one of our customer advisors will phone you. We need to work through amend requests in departure date order so we can prioritise those with the most imminent travel plans, so you may have a longer wait than usual until we’re able to ring you back. We will help everyone that wants to move their holiday.
