Walking in the Hollywood Hills truly is an LA custom, which will take you into an arresting natural environment en route to spectacular 360-degree views over the City of Angels and the San Fernando Valley. You can sign up to take this guided two-and-a-half-hour hike in the morning or as the sun begins to set for views that really capture the spirit of what Ryan Gosling was singing about in La La Land. Starting out at the Greek Theatre in Griffith Park, which is a fabulous spot on its own, you’ll make your way up the trail that overlooks Los Feliz — a trendy, chic area in Hollywood that’s home to some beloved celebrity couples and household names. As you walk, your guide will give you all the fun facts and history of the area, and is also geared up to show you video clips from movies and TV shows that were filmed in the locations you’ll be visiting.
Your easy climb continues with even more stunning panoramas to behold the further you ascend, and you’ll be able to get some truly scenic shots overlooking Downtown Los Angeles and Silver Lake. There’s also the Forest Lawn Memorial Park, where Michael Jackson and Elizabeth Taylor are laid to rest.
Stride on up Mount Hollywood to get even more gorgeous views of the LA basin, including downtown Hollywood, Century City and the Sunset Strip. And then you’ll see what you’ve been waiting for — the famous Hollywood Sign in all its glory. Stop for the completely necessary selfie-op as your guide tells you all about the sign’s incredible past. If you’ve opted for the sunset tour, you’ll watch as the shimmering LA lights come to life below you. You’ll finish up at the newly refurbished Griffith Park Observatory, where you’ll be treated to an insider’s tour to see even more stars of Hollywood (we can’t promise Emma Stone or Ryan Gosling dancing on air though).
