This was our first stay with Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise and I went in with high expectations as this was a special trip for my family of 5 and my mom, who was just diagnosed with cancer. I wanted it to be perfect and memorable for her. We booked a 2 bedroom suite, and while the space was exactly what we needed, I have to admit that the view was disappointing. Upon entry, there is a large sitting room, but it was very dim. No windows, which is unfortunate for such an expensive room, to not be able to sit in the sitting room and be able to enjoy some natural sunlight and to enjoy some of the mountain scenery. Our suite had 2.5 baths, a king bed, a pull out sofa bed and 2 twin beds. The hotel should consider changing those beds to queens or another king. Prior to our arrival, I had made pool reservations and dining reservations. The kids loved the pool and the Fairmont did a great job in limiting the amount of people allowed in at a time, and also reserving 15 minutes between pool times to sanitize all the high touch surfaces. With respect to the dining, it was our first time dining out since March and it was wonderful to be able to experience this again at the Fairmont. The food and service was amazing! The hotel did a great job in ensuring that tables were appropriately distanced. To view menus, you scan the QR code and access it online. Overall, it was a very nice stay and we made some great memories with my mom. Lake Louise is a must see, and even though we were here in the summer just to see the lake, seeing it with the snow is such a different experience, and even more so when you stay at the Fairmont and the lake is steps out the door. The view is amazing, walking the lake every time you turn around there is another spectacular view. The staff at the Fairmont could do no more, they are simply an amazing group of people who made our staying during Covid so safe and lovely. Great food, great service and view overlooking the lake. Just perfect

Food recommendations- Breakfast: French toast or breakfast poutine. Lunch: margarita flatbread or the chopped salad. Dinner: seared salmon or spaghetti and meatballs. Took a tour through the cocktail list which was fun- highly recommend the Chai Tai or Madame Fleur, but all were enjoyable! Alex at the Fairview bar was really great- grab a seat at the bar if you can one night! The hotel is very clean and hand sanitizer is offered everywhere throughout the property. Masks are required in public areas (can take of when seated at your table), but this isn’t an issue at all and almost felt normal (get a cute mask to match your mountain attire!). The property is obviously stunning. Lake Louise exceeds the hype it gets on instagram. There is a flat walkway around the lake, as well as several hikes that start a few steps from the hotel. We did Big Beehive and the views were breathtaking. Loved every minute here- wish I could go back!! Read less

Although many normal routines are disrupted by Covid-19, the staff at this hotel were in all cases both welcoming and friendly, and made it easy to navigate the changes in normal procedures. That began with an email which was sent two weeks before my stay date, urging me to make advance reservations for all meals, and the indoor pool and gym, due to limited numbers of guests. With a couple of messages back and forth with the concierge office, all this was arranged in advance. Arrival went smoothly, despite the need for additional health questions and a temperature check. I definitely appreciated the care being taken in these areas. Having to self park was no hassle, since the garage is directly adjacent to the main lobby. My lakeview room was compact, which I expected (older hotels generally have much smaller rooms), but everything was very comfortable, clean, and well equipped. The view was spectacular, of course. Dinner and breakfast service in the restaurant was impeccable, friendly, and right on point, and the food was superb at all times. Also true of lunch on the patio, facing the lake, with very efficient patio heaters taking the chill off. For the pool, I was given a 45-minute block of reserved time starting at the top of the hour. The hot tub being closed didn't bother me, although it would annoy some. Again, I was both pleased and impressed by the high quality of service at every point during my stay. Read less
