My husband and I have been doing short little "stay-cations" in Alberta over the summer and fall to support our favorite hotels, restaurants and businesses and also feel like we have had a bit of a safe "holiday" through his crazy year we have all been experiencing. We are from Calgary and many years ago were married at the Fairmont Banff Springs so we go back almost every for a few days. This year we stayed there both in July and August for a few days and loved our time there. We decided since Christmas was looking to be very different this year that we would do another short stay at another hotel and chose the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise for something different as it has been several years since we last stayed at the Chateau. So glad we chose this property. When we booked back in August, the Chateau was offering a very good deal for Alberta residents so we were able to take advantage of great pricing. We are also Accor Platinum members so we get a complimentary room upgrade. Just a week before we were to leave, Alberta announced new restrictions banning dining in restaurants, gatherings etc. We were not sure we would even be able to go but checked with AHS as well as the hotel and they were still open to guests and we were told we were allowed to travel. However, all the restaurants were closed as well Read less

Fairmont Gold is sooooo worth it. Will definitely come back. Everything was perfect for our anniversary even with the pandemic, we were still able to celebrate it. The view was the best and walking on the frozen lake was an experience :)

Our adjoining rooms were large and elegant and service from the Gold floor staff was top-notch. We appreciated the care and attention the staff devoted to making our stay memorable, from the basket of cookies and chocolates that awaited us when we first entered our rooms to the exquisite canapes delivered to us every mid-day. In-room dining at our small table with 3 chairs was cosy and comfortable. We arrived after a large snowfall blanketed Lake Louise so conditions for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing were unbeatable. After an afternoon of skiing the nearby Great Divide trail which was freshly groomed and for the most part devoid of other skiers, or the more heavily populated trails at the hotel, we returned to our rooms to be warmly greeted with nibblies, noshes and hot libations. Most services and facilities were closed because of covid. Nevertheless, the hotel and staff went to great lengths to make us feel welcome there. We lived like kings. Read less

Very disapointed in the xcountry trails. Not groomed- confusing on who is using what trail to go up or down... decided to go on the lake to ski and no grooming there too. I would not recommend. I decided to go for a walk! Beautiful!

We had a mountain view king which had stunning views of Lake Louise, the room is small it would have been nicer if it was a little bigger, due to COVID there was only in room dinning on our second night which was awkward to eat when there was only one chair. The room was clean and the bed was comfy, there is a fridge and nespresso coffee machine. We did the night owl snow shoeing Jesse the guide was so nice and so much fun, we also booked the Johnston Canyon walk with Jesse and again he really was very good, we would highly recommend both activities. On our own we did the lookout hike, spectacular views, mirror lake and the hike around lake Louise. Due to COVID it was pretty quite which we really liked. Read less
