Comprising of tree-house villas, each with their own private infinity pool, perched on a jungled hillside, the Four Seasons Resort Seychelles offers a tantalising glimpse into paradise. The powder-sand beach, considered to be one of the finest on the island, is just a short stroll away, scented en-route by cinnamon trees and frangipani. As well as indulging in water sports, there’s a lovely swimming pool to relax by with poolside dining and refreshments readily available. The spa is a treat for all, located at the top of the hill, overlooking spectacular Petite Anse, with both adults and children welcome. Utilising entirely natural ingredients, signature rituals include chakra rebalancing and jet-lag recovery (adults only), as well as a Fancy Fingers Manicure or a Sleepy-time massage for youngsters, the latter a wise investment as everyone enjoys a peaceful night! As dusk falls, head to Zez Lounge for a pre-dinner cocktail or two. Afterwards, opt for pan-Asian cuisine at Zez Restaurant, set on the hillside and perfect for making the most of those sunsets, or Kannel, set right beside the ocean and serving sumptuous seafood, Creole and Asian cuisine.

A big four seasons fan but this one is disappointing!

We absolutely love the FS. But this one is very disappointing. Felt too crowded, not the service of any FS we’ve experienced- very cold and impersonal. Only the beach is the saving grace of this hotel. It’s beautiful. But it’s sooo not worth it! It was our anniversary and nobody even wished us! When we complained about how dissatisfied we were…

Great COVID Getaway that could have been better

My wife and I were really looking forward to this trip, since we’ve heard great things about Seychelles and staying at the Four Seasons resort sounded like a great way to escape the pandemic situation, and celebrate my birthday in the process. Overall the trip was quite relaxing and we enjoyed our time there, but also witnessed bad service quality that could have been handled better.
Location:
Without a doubt, one of the biggest positives is the location and the property. The resort is simply beautiful, and each villa has its own plunge pool and unique views overlooking the beach and the lush green hills. Add to that the fact that we got a complimentary upgrade to hilltop villa and you certainly check a lot of boxes, especially since we had to stay in the resort for a mandatory 6-day quarantine (we flew from UAE, a category 2 country).
Staff & Quality of Service:
I wish I could say the same about the level of service. It’s truly appalling, to the extent that each time we ask for a service, we’re anxiously waiting for someone to mess something up along the way. They seem to be a bit exhausted as well as understaffed/undertrained.
While writing this review, for example, we had asked someone to clear the room from geckos that have been lying around the room for 2 nights, waking us up at night from their chittering. After more than 2 hours of waiting for housekeeping to arrive (as promised on the phone), no one came! It seems that they either forgot or ignored our request.
There are so many more instances of mishaps like this, such as:
- Waking me up for a surprise birthday cake at 6am although my wife mentioned on their chat to make it 10am, along with breakfast. Despite the nice gesture, it's safe to say that I wasn't in a celebratory mood.
- Messing up a request for coffee capsules and instead bring decaffeinated ones. We never asked for those.
- Forgetting our (supposedly complimentary) snacks in the villa, despite me asking for them twice.
- Forgetting salt and pepper shakers with our food in the in-villa dining. And no, we don't have any in the villa.
- Dropping our luggage from the buggy on our way to the airport.
and many more similar mishaps. Overall the staff here are really quite friendly (Eros, Amade, Jim to name a few) and will do their best to serve you, but we had this vibe that they can do much better.
Quality of Food:
As for the food, it was good, but not great given the price range. The menu options were quite limited and we quickly ran out of new options after our 4th day. To be fair, the quality of food did improve early in our trip after speaking to the F&B manager Eros who was quite helpful and promised, then delivered, better food quality. My birthday dinner on the beach was a good example of how exceptional the food and service quality could be! Too bad they couldn't maintain that quality level during our whole stay.
Privacy:
Privacy in general is great with almost all villas being secluded and well-spaced between each other or hidden from view by the landscape. Unfortunately that wasn't the case with our villa. I had to deal with the annoying fact that I've had two different guests in the next-door villa that was unusually close, even though the resorts was almost empty! Why did the reservations team cram us so close when they could have picked another villa?! Is it merely a logistical convenience?
Value for money:
Given all the above points, and given the fact that I was spending around 1000 Euros/night on average, I believe I could have been offered better service in return. Nonetheless, the resort and its facilities are quite good and worth the extra buck.
Summary:
Four Seasons resort is a great place to unwind and watch beautiful sunsets everyday, but it could also be much better if the above points are addressed. Some of the issues I mentioned may sound trivial, but to me perfection lies in the details, and honestly we expected nothing short of that from a 5-star hotel chain, let alone a chain like Four Seasons. To their credit, the resort management and staff were always happy to take such feedback and try to fix the situation as best they could.
People reading this review might think "that's a bit harsh given the pandemic situation", and to that I say, we've been to Taj Exotica in the Maldives back in August and to other resorts around UAE. The service back then was top-notch. No excuses. In times like these I believe popular hotel chains like Four Seasons need to double down on guest satisfaction and quality of service if they are to maintain their reputation in the hospitality sector, and rebound after this pandemic is over.

really disappointing the way you treat your customers...

The beach is absolutely amazing, therefor we always come to enjoy the place as well as the bar of four seasons after a swim.
However, we were advices by the four season employee to move to either sides of the beach as there were other customers inside occupying the sun beds. We were sitting 40 m away from them on the beach of course.

The beach is open to non resident, and yet we had to move as their employee insisted in a polite way.
I told him, I am a guest and usually use the four season services, bar and restaurant, but to stop arguing with him, we had to move away.
What a shame, four season, really disappointing the way you treat your customers...

What happened to Four Seasons service????

F&B eye-watering expensive especially given the quality! Generous with water in Villa and on the beach but not in the dining outlets.
However, generally the level of service was appalling throughout the resort (mainly F&B & housekeeping), nothing major but a continuous catalogue and not at all the standard one expects (and pays for) at Four Seasons.
Not to say most of the staff weren't charming or tried to help but there appeared to be a serious lack of training. We did speak to guest services who almost daily asked if everything was ok as well as a couple other managers at outlets, managed to resolve a few and hopefully take notes to improve, so this won't be a surprise.
Given that I am writing this during world crisis (we were on the last plane off island to UK), no need to go into detail, I hope when holidays come back, service will have improved because it is a lovely resort!

Wedding at resort

Great resort to stay but wouldn’t suggest for wedding ceremony. Overpriced compare to others in the island. Great resort to stay but wouldn’t suggest for wedding ceremony. Overpriced compare to others in the island. They mention 3 days to receive the wedding certificate, although it’s still a month and we were not able to receive it. That’s very important especially for someone who needs it ASAP for legal reasons. Unfortunately, 4 seasons proved unreliable on that. The ceremony had not any special preparation. Although, our room was fabulous with one of the most amazing views and private pool. Our stay was a true experience. The staff was warm and professional.
