It is a special experience to arrive at a hotel on a direct speed boat journey. It is a spectacular trip through the magnificent scenery and to be taken off the boat in a moveable platform towed by a tractor. You are then taken through the beautiful gardens to a seating area to be given a cold drink and towel and calmly checked in by Luna who went through the details of the hotel We arrived early so our room was not immediately ready, but we were soon taken by a buggy. Our room was magnificent with a ground floor sitting area and upstairs bedroom and bathroom. All beautiful furnished and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was a relaxed delight. There was an a la carte option as well as extensive buffet choices, sitting outside in the shade. There were two areas to relax during the day. The massive pool with plenty of sunbeds was located at Railay Beach. The slight negative was that the beach was busy with tourists and noisy from boats, but they all disappeared after dark leaving the beach empty and quiet. The sea was a little disappointing as there were a lot of rocks and the water went a long way out at low tide. There were also a few jellyfish whilst we were there. On the other side of the resort was Phranang Beach which was on the edge of the beach and enjoyed natural shade. In the evening drinks could be enjoyed watching the sunset either at Raitalay Terrace or The Grotto Dinner was excellent at all the restaurants. Along the beach was a small street with shops bars and restaurants. Our time at the hotel seemed to pass in a flash and it is one of the few hotels we have been to which we would return to. Waving goodbye as the speedboat left was a miserable experience. Read less

Rayavadhee is more than a resort - it is nature reserve. The garden and surroundings are so exostic and well mainted with tall palm trees, beautiful flowers and wild life. The pool must be one of the most beautiful in the world. Dinner in the Grotto is a life time experience
