My wife & I recently stayed 2-nights at the property for a brief but much-needed weekend getaway. I booked a King Bed Guest Room on the Club Level and ended up checking in with Ms. Ann Clark once we got to the property, even though she was not an official "front desk agent." She graciously assisted us with the check-in process and quickly had us on our way up to our room. However, upon opening the door to our room I immediately sensed something was wrong...and it was. Our room was dirty from prior guests and housekeeping had, from all appearances, not been able to address the room at all. I understand COVID has everyone learning how to work with what they have (which isn't always as much as they're used to), and that goes for the luxury resorts, as well. These are strange times that are hard to plan for, and my wife & I are fully cognizant of that fact. As such, my wife & I graciously brought this issue to Ms. Clark's attention. She immediately resolved the issue by finding us a clean room a few floors higher on the actual Club Lounge floor (score!). Ms. Clark also kindly wrote us an apology note and deposited some points into my Bonvoy account. While some folks may consider this experience thus far to be a sour, dampening note, I can promise you this: the entire experience was nothing but uphill from there. It was neat to see how quickly the hotel remedied the problem, even in the midst of dealing with all of the shenanigans caused by this longstanding pandemic. Enough about that, though! I wholeheartedly recommend this property to anyone and can honestly say that within a very short period of time this Ritz-Carlton became my wife & I's favorite property we've ever stayed at. Not only because the property itself is so lovely but, even more so, because the Ladies & Gentlemen we interacted with throughout our stay were so pleasant, charming, courteous, and fun-loving; we genuinely felt like we made friendships during our stay (especially with Elizabeth and Gregory in the Club Lounge! Special shoutout to them and to Trish and Nathan, as well). My wife & I basically spent all our time either (A) eating in the Club, (B) sun-bathing/drinking at the Spa Pool, or (C) exploring the resort area. All of the food we had was excellent, and the same goes for the drinks. Every aspect of our stay was just right (and that even goes for the problem-resolution that transpired at the beginning of our stay). The hotel's remarkable staff made us feel at home and that is exactly what this Ritz ended up feeling like to both my wife & I: home. We are already planning our return trip and it cannot come soon enough! Especially to see the new renovations come to completion (rooms, main pool, club lounge, etc.). Until next time! Read less

Their patience with my conference was amazing. I wish I could say my fellow conference attendees were careful to follow the COVID-19 risk mitigation rules and CDC guidelines but I can't. I felt for the staff who were serving us. Wishing you continued health and prosperity Ritz Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes. Read less

I have stayed at the Ritz Carlton Grande Lakes property at least a dozen time over the past several years and it has always been a good experience. This time, however, the experience was quite the opposite. The rooms we were provided were dirty and run down, with items left behind by the previous guests. In these times of COVID, one would expect more attention to detail in terms of cleanliness. When I called the night manager to complain, his response was “ OK - what are you looking for? A room upgrade”? The quality of the food was also terrible and they repeatedly got our orders wrong, including room service, the Highball & Harvest restaurant, and the spa restaurant. The hotel’s newest restaurant, Knife and Spoon, was not open to guests. The hotel staff is poorly trained and repeatedly provided information that was not correct. Management and some of the front desk clerks were rude and condescending and try to fix everything with throwing extra points or removing items from the bill, as opposed to providing first rate service and outstanding experiences, which are what is found in other Ritz Carlton properties. In addition, the hotel is old and tired looking. In addition to this hotel, I have stayed in Ritz Carlton hotels around the world and this is by far the worst managed hotel in the company’s portfolio. I would definitely not recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a high level of service as this property falls way short of that goal. Read less
