It’s an adults only pool (18+), but the daily DJs’ play club music and gangster rap most of the day (before noon is a little bit better). They charge $800 for a daybed and $2,500 for a cabana, which is very steep for what you get. The majority of the patrons at the pool are older (40+), yet they play music, geared towards a 20-30 something party crowd (who aren’t the ones spending money on food/drink). I saw a couple people complain about the music and how loud it was and they were dismissed by the DJ and bar staff. The Cove pool could be such cool place if they would take note of the age and music preferences of the majority of the clientele. Big miss!!! Read less

Be ready for an outdated hotel with not so friendly personnel and difficulty finding reservations for dinnertime. Food quality was mediocre in several hotels.

The adult pool was lively, and the employees go out of their way to make your stay incredible. Finally, the restaurants Paranza, Fish, and Nobu were all great. However, if you are staying at the Cove, the elevators are a mess. For the higher floors and Lapis Lounge, we needed to swipe a card in the elevator to access the floors. Each time we tried to do this the cards stopped working, forcing us to ride the elevator all the way up and then back down to the lobby to get cards re-issued. Because only 2-3 of the elevators were working, this took 10-15 extra minutes every time. Also, many of the slides at the water park were not in service (only 2 of the 4/5 slides at the Mayan Temple were operating when we were there), and the hours of operation varied from 9 am to 10 am depending on what day you go there, making it difficult to time the beginning of our day. If you are marketing the water-park slides as heavily as Atlantis does, the slides should be working. Overall, it was a fun stay for the kids but we'd probably check our Baha Mar next time. Read less

do not stay at the cove. we literally arrived a few hours ago and this is by far the worst possible service and hotel i’ve ever stayed in. we had reservations to the royal towers and thought to upgrade to the cove. i’ve never experience such horrible customer service in my life! we requested a balcony suite (my husbands a casino rewards diamond elite member) and we got ground level no balcony. the toilet doesn’t work, the air conditioner barely functions and the lights flicker as if the bulbs need changing. save your money! this is by far equivalent to holiday inn service. honestly thanks so much for starting my vacation off with a bang! i really wish i wasn’t stranded here. this is horrible. Despite the fact that for the majority of our stay more elevators did not work than worked .....and we had major issues with the hot water system ... we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. However it was terribly spoiled by the fact that although I had a confirmation in writing from Marriott Ambassador service that we would have access to the Lapis club lounge the hotel refused to honour it .....saying it was Marriotts fault and the mistake was not theirs. The hotel said we would have to pay around $1,700 for access during my 5 day stay stay ..against which i would be given a $300 credit. To treat a Marriott Ambassador elite member in such fashion ...and for Marriott to walk away from the issue is ..in my mind.... an impolite disgrace. Thus i write this review as a warning to future travellers to be very wary as to what you may receive from Marriott by way of confirmations since the hotel may not honour them. Read less
