There's way better out there for the same price point! (Hyatt Zilara Cap Cana, Beloved Playa Mujeres, Secrets, Excellence). Sandals needs to modernize, improve their service and food. We still enjoyed our vacation very much but would definitely not return to Sandals having been to many 5* AI that are far better across every category. The staff are lovely though and we met so many great couples! We had been to Sandals Whitehouse/Southcoast and though it was dated the beach was spectacular. Food-The food was generally mediocre. Soy was my far the best with good sushi and some interesting tasty apps. Butch's-their signature restaurant was simply not good. We waited 1 hour and 20 min for our mains and when they arrived it was an over salted fish with a few smatterings of tiny seafood and over cooked steak though ordered medium. We were told it was an off night so gave it a second try. This time the wait was shortened to 1 hour, the food marginally better than the first night but still meh. Jardine's the French was fairly good, hit and miss for service. Neptune's on the beach had a great setting but the food was hit and miss, and We waited 45 minutes for a hot dog, twice! Cafe-was great for lattes and pastries. At other AI you can get a healthy option like a smoothy with fruit and yogurt, instead of the syrupy sweetened fruity stuff they had here. Spices-meh, Kimonos for Teppanyaki was tons of food and delish! Other AI have high end food offerings, better quality, some interesting options like food trucks, jerk carts, fresh fruit in the afternoon at the beach, a smoothy at the gym or cafe. It felt limited here and clear that economics are at play. It was also annoying to have to be early to lunch or dinner to try to compensate for the long waits. Beach-the beach is nice, small, but you have to reserve chairs RIDICULOUSLY early to get a shady spot before the butler's claim them. My husband was out at 5/5:30 AM daily to reserve chairs with an umbrella. Finally on day 6 we complained and Jennifer at Club Sandals so kindly had our favourite spot reserved for us. (Thank you). Spa-we had great massages by RMTs but there are no other spa facilities or pools.(aside from a sauna which nobody needs in 30+ celsius). The spa at Secrets Maroma, Hyatt Zilara and many other resorts offer beautiful pools and facilities to use. Service-Aside from the really long waits for food, wait times to be seated, some drinks at meals that never showed up, the staff are really wonderful and do so much to make it a great stay. The drinks are flowing at the pool and beach with amazing service. Club Sandals Staff were all a pleasure to deal with. Rooms-we had a beachfront Pink Gin and it was nice, not modern, lots of dark wood. Several Dark wood shutters that block a lot of the view and that you have to latch closed every night. Activities-we played tennis one AM but it's pretty hot. The pro Leonard was fantastic. The gym is ok-could use updated equipment. There are a few watersports but it was pretty wavy and so scorching hot that we had to remain near shade. Though lots of happy scuba divers. Entertainment-some lovely musicians, a watershow, a few little things here and there but again, better elsewhere. The review above is based on my comparing our similarly priced other AI resort experiences. We'll look elsewhere for the next trip! Read less

Our butlers were Keno, Juvelle and Jack. As usual, they made our trip more special and relaxing. Delivered my pot of coffee every morning at 6, brought afternoon snacks, set up my beach chair where I needed it each morning, took care of all reservations and met us each night at each restaurant where they took pictures of us (thank goodness or I wouldn't have any), decorated our room one night (which was very romantic), and created a special romantic, private lunch for us which included balloons. We didn't ask for much, but I know if we did, they would have gone out of their way to provide whatever we needed. Love my butlers and love this resort. Read less

Checked out today and here is my review of Sandals Grenada. Beautiful awesome place. For context we have been to RC - Butler level and Exuma - Club level. Airport is on the smaller side but has a good flow. Longest wait was for our luggage but we were out quickly - Sandals rep right outside and in a taxi and at the resort within 30 minutes of landing. Butler and club guests check in in the club lounge with a signature cocktail after being given a clean towel. We arrived at 2:30pm so our room was not ready. Our butler escorted us to Neptunes for lunch while we waited - the mountain terrain view behind the ocean is magnificent. Room 1Sky. Room 3404. This room is just huge with a huge balcony and sky pool. This room number is a corner and has a great view of the ocean and the quiet pool. We could hear and see most all entertainment from our balcony. I liked the proximity to the beach, restaurants on the Pink Gin side and the quiet pool. Small feedback on the room which didnt bother us enough to voice it as a concern - there isn’t really a true table and chairs on the patio to eat on the balcony, its like a wood tree table and lounges more so. But for our anniversary we were able to have a candlelight dinner by the main pool which was awesome. There are some ants on the pool ledge. The rain shower double head is awesome but the last few days it seemed like it was leaking. The most bothersome thing I haven’t seen mentioned is the sky pool has a water pump or something that runs and makes it sound like water leaking all night. Like I said we aren’t complainers and didn’t bring this up but we did use sleep music to cover the sound. I had heard the bed was hard but it was good for us. No backaches or anything of the sort. Pools/Beach - I am a pool person and hubby is a beach person. I spent my pool mornings at the quiet pool - there is a platform where the chairs face the beach but behind the sand and are still pretty close to the pool if you want to swim. This quiet pool is not as quiet as other resorts just because it’s close to the main beach area. The other resorts we have been to the quiet pools are more out of the main area. A few people were playing music on Bluetooth speakers but were asked to stop. The chair game is defenitely a thing here - beach chairs in the sun were defenitely available but right by the pool pretty scarce. Our butlers got us great seats on the platform each day we asked - you have to claim by 11 or they will be taken. The beach is awesome - there are a few coves split up by the pier. A lot of people snorkel here - hubby did and lived it. We had a few red flag days and a few yellow flag days. I don’t spend time at the main pool but they have a lot of activities going on - it’s very warm and was a little bit dirty. Quiet pool was chill and my preference. Sandals boats go out 3 times a day to snorkel but didn’t go out on the red flag days - hubby went out one day where they take you about 5 minutes away to a reef. It was very structured though. The watersports person made you check in every few minutes and he would talk so you couldn’t really venture on your own. Hubby preferred snorkeling on his own. He did go out another day on the diving boat to the sculpture park but he did Snuba. Troy and the water sports guys are awesome. They did an equipment test with him in the pool and the he was the only person on the boat doing Snuba so he basically got his own private lesson and got about 40 minutes exploring. Great experience - it was $150. Restaurants - we ate everywhere except Soy. All the food was good. Some others were giving bad feedback about Butches but we had a good experience. Butches and Italian was my fave. Breakfast didn’t have a lot of options - there are omlettes made to order and we ended up ordering to our room most days. Dinos is really good for a snack and the cafe has great milkshakes. Service was fine at all restaurants - you are on island time - sometimes ordering room service even through the butler was an hour. The only service issue we really had was at Spices when we were escorted by the butler who seats you and gets your drinks but then people coming after us were getting served and we weren’t. Hubby ended up approaching them and then the butler came out of nowhere and corrected the issue. Maybe he forgot to tell the server after he seated us but all was well. Our French dinner was served by our butler one night for a candlelight dinner by the pool as I mentioned above. Butlers were awesome. Thanks to this group for the referrals. Although one butler at RC was great these butlers were the best of the best. Glendon, Mikhail and Antonio went above and beyond, anticipating our needs before we asked. Can’t say enough about them. 6 stars. They would escort us to dinner and ask what we wanted reserved for the following day - A++++ Tour - we only went out once with a private tour with Tours of Grenada. Derrick was great - we went to town, stopped at the chocolate factory, spice market, souvenir shop, waterfall. The Mona monkeys were awesome as well as. Belmont estates. Derrick was great - really good driver on the narrow roads. He had a vehicle overheating issue when we went up into the forest that was making me a bit nervous but all was well. Grenada was our fave resort - we do like going to different islands but this experience would be hard to beat. Read less
