We expected so much more from a well know brand, Sandals you are ripping off people who work hard for a luxury holiday. Sandals please don’t reply to these comments as sorry doesn’t cut it, looking at older bad reviews this has been going on for a while and you still haven’t sorted the issues. Total waste of money, so thank you for a rubbish holiday. Read less

We stayed here for 12 days while on our honeymoon and had a great time! The staff were very welcoming and kind, the resort was beautiful, and the food was AMAZING, but our room was only okay. The resort itself is filled with trees, green grass, flowers, relaxation beds and chairs, and a beautiful view of the ocean. It's referred to as the "Garden of Eden" as it's couples only and is quiet and beautiful. For wildlife, there are lots of birds, 4 cats, little lizards, and crabs on the beach. Be sure to bring bug spray as we got bit a lot at night! We ate at all 6 restaurants and never had a bad meal, but SOY, Kelly's, and Bayside had some of the best food. My husband raved about his swordfish steak from Kelly's and we both loved our meals at Bayside which were the steak and the lamb shank. The sushi at SOY was top-notch - some of the best sushi we have ever had, and a couple beside us said it's even better than in Japan! The entertainment during the day was fantastic - at the main pool they had aquacise, trivia, couples games, and more! The evening entertainment was fairly decent too, however, we were there for 12 days and the entertainment was the exact same each night of the week so we had less to do the second week of our stay. Our room was okay - we stayed in one of the "cheaper" rooms in Crytal Lagoon facing the second pool/lazy river. The room was fairly basic and had some issues like cleanliness, wear issues (ceiling ripping, cocking a mess), and AC not being cold enough. The bed was a little hard, but the pillows were soft. The beach is beautiful and quiet. It's basically just people staying at the Halcyon and there are only a few sellers who are always the same each day (boat tours, shells, souvenirs, clothes). The BEST tour was Julian's Boat Tours" we highly recommend this! Overall, St. Lucia and Sandals Halcyon are beautiful and we would likely return, but stay in a higher-end room. Read less

excellent staff good food and wonderful experience. When anything was needed, it was provided. The staff accommodated our needs well. My only wish is there would have been more during the day food options such as a pizzeria, a coffee and pastry shop and more available pasta.

Hats off to Chef Tianyi at Bayside Restaurant who made a special evening for us to male up for the issue we had which definitely made everything right. Thank you Tianyi. A big special thank you to Shandulla, our resort wedding planner who went so above and beyond to make sure our day was so special and went to plan. Some nice surprises from her and the team and to return to our room after a lovely evening meal in the beach pergola, to find the room decorated and laid out with flowers and some gifts, was not expected which was a big touch for us. Overall the experience was great and we will definitely return. This was our first Sandals holiday and we have now booked another for 2026. Thank you Sandal Halcyon Beach for a wonderful stay. This was our first experience at a Sandals, and it was a very good one. We had a great week, and truly enjoyed the resort. While we might not go back to St Lucia again because we want to see as much of the Caribbean as possible, we definitely will consider a Sandals again. This is the 4th different all-inclusive we've been to, and it was a class above the other 3. Let's start with negatives first. The only things we were not happy with, were the mosquitoes in our room, and some of the staff. The grounds are very lush, tropical and beautiful, which kind of explains the mosquitoes. We battled them all week, and I would say on average we would kill about 10 a night. That being said, we didn't get them all. Really wasn't that big of a deal until our last night. On that night, my wife was eaten up. When we got back home, she had to go to the doctor because they had gotten so bad and were swelling up. She had 4 large bites on her back, 2 on her arm, and 5 on her face/forehead. She had to go on prednisone, antibiotics and cream to get some relief. On several nights after they came in for a turn down, we noticed dead mosquitoes on the bed, and a somewhat pleasant smell. On those nights, we didn't seem to have a problem with any bites. Maybe they were spraying something to control them? But the last night (the night my wife was bitten so badly}, we declined the turn-down. Maybe the trick is to get it every night. As far as the staff, this was the first resort we have gone to, where tipping is strictly forbidden. We followed the rules, thinking the staff must be very well compensated, or receive other perks in lieu of tips. I would guess 80% of the staff were very friendly, as if you were tipping them. But there were 20%, who were not very friendly, and didn't seem to like being there. Maybe not surprising, most of these folks seemed to work at the Beach Bistro and the Bayside Restaurant (lower end places to eat), which may explain why they seemed the least happy. On the positive side...everything else! The room was okay. We stayed in the Crystal Lagoon walkout room. The room itself was nothing special, about like a typical hotel room. It was clean and comfortable. But, you had your own little patio area with a table, 2 chairs, and 2 loungers, and most importantly you literally walked from your patio, across a sidewalk, and down the steps into the pool. (we were in room 501). They say the Crystal Lagoon pool is the longest pool in the Caribbean, and I believe it. Think of a lazy river pool at a waterpark, only in this one the water isn't moving, and there are not a million inter-tubes. The food was very good. There are only 6 restaurant options, but keep in mind that this is the smallest Sandals resort. You can only get lunch & breakfast at 2 of the restaurants; one a buffet choice, the other off the menu. But dinners are off the menu at all 6. What impressed us, was the presentation of the food. They really do a good job of food presentation of the dinners. The more friendly servers I mentioned previously, were almost always at the better restaurants, Mario's and Kikomo's in particular. The less friendly servers were at the buffets or the Beach Bistro. And all of the bars were good, with the majority of the bartenders being very friendly. One of the best things about this resort is the size. It is the smallest of all of Sandals resorts, which turned out to be great. If you want an all-inclusive for the party atmosphere, this is not your resort. If you're looking for a quiet, relaxing vacation, this is the place. The grounds and landscaping are amazing, and you never feel like the place is crowded. We were told by two different workers that they were at 98% capacity the week we were there. But we never felt crowded, never were unable to find a lounge chair by any of the pools, and the longest wait we had for dinner was maybe five minutes. It was awesome Finally, even though it is a very laid back resort, they did a good job of providing games & activities around the main pool during the day, and having entertainment on the main pool stage in the evening. We only went down twice, but saw an amazing solo saxophonist, and a great reggae band. We had a great week, and left with the opinion that maybe smaller is better. Read less
