Image of the Tripadvisor rating Beautiful hotel, poor service

GH Baha Mar is gorgeous, clean, and relaxing. However, the customer service was extremely disappointing and be prepared that this is one of the most expensive resorts you will ever visit! If it wasn’t for the service, I would consider spending the money here in the future as it is beautiful. But the service needs work.

We had an amazing trip to the Grand Hyatt. We had a party of 50 people and they were able to help us with everything we needed. Cabanas at the pool were fantastic, restaurants did incredibly well to service 50 people. Very very impressed!

We stayed at beaches in Turks and had a much better experience for a family of 5 with 3 small children. This place was way over priced and there pools weren’t even heated.

If you’re American, I’m sure this resort would be right up your alley. As a British/European couple, this was too over-commercialised for our liking. We were expecting the true, local experience - like conch from a hut on the beach while steel drums play in the background. This was more American-diner style food trucks while Miley Cyrus blared out the speakers around the pool, definitely not the culture we were looking for. As this was too ‘American’ for our liking, we ended up taking the bus to downtown Nassau and exploring the back roads and local restaurants off the back of recommendations from a taxi driver. This resort has everything, we’ll say that. There’s no real reason to leave once you’ve arrived. We’ve done a lot of the Caribbean as we cruise around quite regularly as a holiday. This however was our first time in the Bahamas and staying at an actual resort and not on a cruise ship. I think we’ll stick to cruising as we prefer the less crowded and commercialised islands. Shawnice was wonderful at check in! She couldn’t have been more friendly or accommodating. Especially after our flight and waiting in the customs line at the airport. She made us feel so welcome to the resort. What a wonderful and valuable employee. We love this resort and the friendly employees.
