Surrounded by one of the most extensive coral reef systems in the world - it's safe to say the snorkelling and diving opportunities are superb! Look out for eagle rays and blacktip reef sharks, as well as great coral formations.

Blissful beaches and vibrant coral reefs: Highlights of the Turks and Caicos Islands

Forget the usual Caribbean paradise islands. If you want something a little more laid back than Jamaica (no, seriously, this place is so laid back it’s practically horizontal), cuter than Cuba or even better than Barbados, this is it. Spread out in the calm, turquoise waters of the Caribbean, the Turks and Caicos Islands are home to miles and miles of beautiful beaches, coral reef, and nature at her most exotic. Today, it attracts tourists from all over the world, well, those in the know, anyway. It’s a destination like no other, and there’s definitely no better way to experience the Caribbean’s incredible natural beauty quite like a Turks and Caicos holiday.

Made up of over 300 islands, Turks and Caicos offers you a holiday with so much to do and see. But it’s not all action adventures, as the Turks and Caicos is also the perfect place to sit back, relax and experience what it would be like to be marooned on an idyllic desert island (an idyllic desert island with excellent bars, restaurants, luxury hotels and a superb cocktail hour or two, obviously). Whether you want to ride horses along the beach, swim all day, water ski, scuba dive or simply doze on the beach and read your book, our Turks and Caicos holidays have something for everyone.

When it comes to finding the best all-inclusive holiday package in the Turks and Caicos, there’s only one resort you should really consider. Beaches Turks and Caicos is situated on the spectacular Grace Bay and has been designed to provide guests with absolutely everything they’ll need during their stay on the island. Kids clubs, water parks, discos and games rooms keep the children busy, while you sit back, relax, and enjoy your luxurious surroundings.

With over 20 restaurants on site, you’re spoilt for choice when it comes to food, and the hotel also offers a wide range of water sports and activities. If you’re looking for a luxury resort in the Turks and Caicos, this hotel really ticks all the right boxes.

While it’s definitely tempting to just spread out your towel, lay down on the sand, and soak up the sun for the duration of your stay (and we won’t judge you if that’s what you want to do – promise), there’s an enormous amount to see and do on the islands. Here’s a few ideas to get you started.

  • Snorkel and scuba: Turks and Caicos holidays are the perfect opportunity for you to experience some of the world’s best snorkelling and diving, whether you’re a first-time diver or an experienced flipper-flapper. Situated on a plateau that rises more than 3000 metres up off the surrounding ocean floor, the islands are surrounded by pristine reef and incredible wildlife. If you’ve never had the opportunity to spend your days swimming with exotic fish, this is your chance.
  • Discover historic Grand Turk: the island of Grand Turk is defined by its well-preserved colonial architecture and its charming Bermudian atmosphere. Thought to be the place where Christopher Columbus made landfall on his first expedition to the Americas, it’s home to most of the historical attractions in the archipelago.
  • Get out on the water: the islands are famous for the vast number of water sports on offer, including sailing, water skiing, kiteboarding, free diving, and many, many more. Providenciales is where you’ll find all the best water sports that the islands have to offer.
  • axi: taxis wait at the airport to meet every flight coming into Providenciales International Airport. Hotels are always willing to order a taxi for guests, as are restaurants. Taxi drivers are often able to act as unofficial tour guides and show you some of the islands’ secrets.
  • Vehicle rental: renting a car, motorbike or scooter is a good way to discover the large island of Providenciales. We’ve teamed up with various hire companies to get you the best deals going.
  • Inter-island travel: you can travel across most of the islands by domestic flights, ferries, or chartered boats. Travelling by sea is often dependent on weather conditions, so it may sometimes be necessary to be flexible and take a relaxed approach towards inter-island journeys.

Want to know the great thing about holidaying in the Turks and Caicos? There’s a superb range of restaurants, bars and cafés right at your fingertips. Not surprisingly, seafood plays a large part in the local cuisine, as do other Caribbean culinary traditions. However, dining out isn’t restricted to local dishes. The Turks and Caicos Islands cater for everyone and, many restaurants specialise in foods from all over the world. Here are three of our favourites to get your mouth watering.

  • Hemingway’s: Hemingway’s has been a long-standing feature of the Turks and Caicos culinary scene, and is a firm favourite among those that know the islands’ restaurants well. Its casual beachside vibes make it an easy place to eat, but doesn’t stop the food from being fantastic. Word on the grapevine is that their fish tacos are simply unbeatable.
  • Coco Bistro: if you want to go somewhere truly special for a meal on your holiday, look no further than Coco Bistro. Spread out between towering palm trees, and beautifully lit at night, the restaurant boasts an incredible atmosphere that makes every meal a here a special occasion. This is fine dining at its most luxurious, and is definitely a spectacular way to top off a special holiday.
  • Flamingo Café: The Flamingo Café isn’t as well-known as our other two recommendations (so this is our little secret!), but is definitely worth a visit for the fantastic fresh grouper they serve for lunch. They also make a pretty mean rum punch that’s the perfect start to a lazy afternoon on the beach (seriously, it’s got quite a kick).

The Turks and Caicos Islands are situated within a tropical zone so, there’s little variation in temperatures throughout the year. The average high in January is 27°C, and the average low is 23°C. In July, August and September this rises to 31°C and 27°C respectively.

If you’re looking for something a little different from a Caribbean holiday, one of our Turks and Caicos packages may be perfect for you. Check out our Turks and Caicos hotels and start planning your dream holiday.
