Responsible Tourism

Responsible Tourism

“At Virgin Holidays we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to take on the world, no matter who you are, no matter where you want to go. The world is for everyone – it’s for us all to enjoy and look after. We make friends, build well and think red so that everyone can take on the world – and change it for the better too.”

As a travel company, we believe we have a responsibility to the world. Holidays matter, but so do their impact — not only on you, but also on this beautiful planet and the sometimes fragile habitats that make your favourite destinations so incredible.

Whether it’s making the world more accessible to our diverse range of customers, ensuring the people who work in the hotels we feature get a fair deal or by supporting young people to reach their potential in our holiday destinations, we work hard to make good things happen around the globe.

Committed areas of responsibility

Fuel efficiency

We believe that everyone can take on the world, and we want to bring this to life every day with our values and initiatives. We’re taking steps to reduce our carbon emissions and environmental impact and we report on our progress in the annual Change is in the Air Sustainability Report with Virgin Atlantic if you want to find out more. We ensure that people in our supply chains are treated fairly and work hard on giving back to the communities that we operate in.

Climate change

No bones about it, flying people to their destinations has an effect on the world in the form of climate change.

But don’t worry, our main partner airline is doing something about it:

  • Investing in new, more efficient fleet (~30% less carbon per trip)
  • Improving operational procedures, like pilots flying more efficiently
  • Innovating on ground-breaking new sustainable aviation fuels
  • Actively supporting the new global UN-Led Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation (CORSIA)
